I'm playing this game since Shadowkeep and I always heard how this community is welcoming etc. but after 4000 hours I almost never encountered a positive/nice person.
70% of my games was with LFG. Either they were generally toxic, leaving or saying mean things because we wipe. Saying -blam!-/racist -blam!- being edgy in general or there were even people who were screaming at me cause I played without mic almost all the time in raids, even if I kwtd.
For example I was blamed at caretaker because I symbol team didn't make it in time, but I was on stun team....
LFG discord don't care about banning most of the people with evidence most of the time so I start making my own posts and inviting them to my own Discord server. In under the 1.5 year I blocked and banned over 150+ people.
Maybe it's bad luck but I don't have positive experience with any of the clans too.
I'm not gonna mention Bungie forum and some of the Twitter account of sad people making their entire personality just hating on D2 and everyone who plays it.

Join a better clan. If the clan isn’t a fit then try another. Being in an active clan is shears a big help. Most members of clans treat each other with respect. LFG is needed at times but it’s chock full of brats.

Toxicity attracts toxicity Maybe you are the problem

1 ReplyTbh I just don't think you're a people person 🤷

gonna cryyyyyyy 😭😭😭

While I agree there are shitty people out there, raids need communication of some sort, and it usually takes a full premade fireteam with people who all know each other - and on PC so they can type - to do a raid without mics. Otherwise, it turns into an absolute clusterfuck a majority of the time. Now, if you make the post yourself saying you don’t have a mic - that’s fine. It’s your post, your fireteam, do whatever you want. But if you’re joining an LFG with no mic, especially a “kwtd” post - that’s frankly just begging for a bad time. Yes, there are rude and irritating people out there, there always will be - but it is at least a little on you to not deliberately go looking for a worse experience, which by now you should probably know raiding with no mic is.
-
Make your own groups and set forth expectations if you're appalled by gamer etiquette.
-
Raids are very communication-heavy activities, and most people don't have the patience to deal with someone not having a mic. No offense, but joining a raid team without a mic makes you a liability to the team, which is why most raid teams require mics.

I used to be all about end-game (before this whole ‘quarterly-regrind-old-crap-to-unlock-the-same-content-I-was-playing-a-week-ago’ cancer that has killed the game for me) and a lot of LFG for raids and there’s one thing you gotta keep in mind…there’s always gonna be a lightning rod It’s always someone else’s fault. Now, if you are the one that gets struck, the best way I had found to deal with it was to explain what I was already doing. Ex:I’m on motes, bubble, Minotaurs already and I can’t build platforms while I’m transported to a completely diff area. Then we can designate amongst others I wouldn’t say it’s the community, but how you conduct yourself within its, admittedly arbitrary sometimes, ROE Then again, sometimes they’re just shitheads because daddy never hugged them 6 in one hand; half dozen in the other. Pick your battles

Edited by nonchalantone: 1/12/2023 9:40:01 PMLookie here, Max.... Maybe if your had your mic on during RAIDS (for goodness sakes man...) They could hear your rebuttal? Just a thought.... You sound like you want everything catered to your liking. This isn't Carnival cruise line. 😕

1 ReplyI've done over a thousand raids and lfg stuff. 70%? You're either exaggerating, or it sucks being in a team with you. Probably both, but good luck in games and life (no sarcasm)

Edited by Hendo: 1/11/2023 11:51:33 PMYou suck *whips and Nae Nae*

Softer than baby -blam!-

Bro who told you this community was welcoming?!
-
If you’re having to block that many people and “70%” of your interactions are toxic? It’s not the community. You need to be honest with yourself and look at what you’re doing to bring this out in other people. I’m betting that you are either being toxic or disruptive…and don’t care to be held accountable for it…or you are struggling with the fights and people are getting frustrated with you. Or you’re exaggerating. Either way. The in-game community has its problems but they are nowhere near that toxic.

2 RepliesEdited by Tigerpaws: 1/14/2023 3:51:37 PMI've played since beta d1, joined many lfg teams and ran into literally one or two toxic people.
-
Use the companion app for LFG. I’ve never had an issue. Other than a person saying KWTD but doesn’t KWTD. That’s pretty common. But no hostility.
-
3 Repliesfor real I dislike this community and how toxic it can get in both pve/pvp
-
Stories like these make me grateful I found two destiny players at my job, and we've all been catching up on dungeons, exotic quests, gms and so on. This game is so much more fun with people you know, although I'm aware not everyone has this luxury.
-
was alot different in d1.
-
Your highly exaggerating your experience. I have used lfg for 300 odd raids and encountered less than 10 people i would consider toxic. You are either lying or get easily offended, either way grow up

5 RepliesEdited by max: 1/12/2023 10:10:36 AMDo you not use a mic in general or was that just for instance, you took away half the fun yourself by not communicating, but expect friendliness? If someone joins an LFG raid team and types Ikwtd no mic you're automatically the first on my sus list
-
1 ReplyIf everyone is the problem, maybe it’s not them.
-
That’s because you can’t be friendly and efficient at this game, this is either purposeful or a flaw by bungie but it makes players need to play way more to progress and often play more hardcore

Edited by MajorMagnus99: 1/12/2023 10:58:34 PMHere’s a tip with dealing with these forms/community: Sometimes it’s better to say nothing and just sit back and watch the show.

1 ReplyEdited by High Noon at Jötunn Saloon: 1/12/2023 11:53:23 AMThe steps you've taken to block and ban that number of people is kinda scary, dude. I would reassess your life. Also...you're in a clan of 25 people. Why do you lfg so much? Is your clan dead and you can't find another clan or what.
