I have to accept that making these changes to Crucible is a hard task. It takes time to implement things like this and make them work. My problem is the core mechanics of the game not being changed.
Aerial Effectiveness needs to go.
Slide Nerf needs to go.
This game skill is based on movement and it was the only reason most people stick to the game. Since they removed their core mechanics the game feels horrible. It doesn't matter how many crucible rework they do if the mechanics of gameplay are trash it will not be enjoyable. People see cheesy tactics as lame and stupid. They require no skill or critical thinking that's why people often despise them. If you introduce a competitive and ranking system then the cheese must go.
There is still quitter penalties for a quickplay game mode that's embarrassing and petty.
This is a subjective rant nothing more. I wish they did these changes earlier, not when the community's morale is already broken.
I cannot trust Bungie anymore like I used to for anything related to PvP. They have no idea what are they doing anymore.

Quitter penalties should stay - it’s not a permanent ban but it’s enough to make you think twice about leaving a match you should be staying in… The same people that complain about quitter penalties are the same players that complain about being dropped into a match, late… You can’t have it both ways… Jinkies!

Sales are down, pre-orders are cancelled and the players ain't happy, time to make a TWAB with lots of vague words, misleading promises and hope we blind them into pre-ordering again. The underlying issue of Bungle still relying on Halo 2008ish Era Peer to Peer Networking is not addressed. Expecting the game to improve in any way, shape or form without having properly tuned Regional Dedicated Host Servers is is ludicrous. It remains the same wet fecal mess infrastructure that everything is based off of, like putting "Lipstick on a Pig - you're kissing a Pig - Kids". And where have we heard about the "Collect Coins" "Event" before I wonder? Grinding old content for a badge and Ghost?

2 RepliesI think it’s insulting how they said “we are working on a new map for the year of Lightfall.” So not only are we getting only 1 new map, it’s not even dropping with Lightfall. That’s unacceptable. The maps in this game are so old they need to make new ones more.

You’re time is running out. As gaming continues to grow in popularity, these kinds of changes are inevitable. And they will be for ALL PvP games at a certain point. The fact is there are infinitely more casual gamers than hardcore gamers and companies want everyone’s money. The era of “competitive” gaming is coming to an end across the board.

It's amazing Bungie can do nothing and people can get excited over it. The names of the ranks are changing and that's it. That is literally it. It's SBMM like Comp is right now, and you rank up for no rewards like you do in Comp right now. It's the exact same thing that we have now. They are looking to add cosmetic rewards in the future, huh? Well, why not now? Why the future? What the hell were they doing this whole time? The cosmetics are what we waited years for, only to have the names of the ranks change and get told "a new map and cosmetics will be added later". Are you kidding me? I'm sorry but this is an absolute joke. It took them this long to rework Comp and all they are adding is a recycled gun with random rolls? One single gun????? No new map with an entire comp rework???? It's just ALWAYS the bare minimum with this game, and it always will be.

7 RepliesMy big thing is Comp changes dont seem like there is a reason to play it still. Experience multipliers dont seem like enough. I do not see this being something that people will play. You need rewards like we use to have .IE pinacles Or add the trials loot to specific ranks or something. Dont just give XP.

1 ReplyIm a pvp main and I have to be honest, I’ve been wanted some kind of ranked system in the game for a while so it’s nice to see that. But that’s besides the point, the gameplay is clapped as a result of AE. If a player used a gl, ur -blam!-. You can’t jump because i’ll be free target practice, you can’t stay in the group because your going to take -150 damage, you just have to hope to god that your positioning was good in that exact moment to avoid getting hit. I miss the days where I could counter everyone if I played correctly. It’s impossible now unless the enemy team misses ever shot tbh

I suspect they’re too stubborn to admit that their AE system is a failure, or to admit that most PvP mains on this game don’t like their air shots being RNG. Their inability to say “we were wrong” is why we’ll probably never go back to pre-AE. Makes no sense at this point, either. AE was introduced to protect little jimmy with his messenger from someone jumping around with an Austringer in order to beat the messenger’s superior TTK (as one example). But now, all these new and upcoming changes to matchmaking already segregate little jimmy from the better player. AE is no longer needed.

I agree the slide nerf and aerial effectiveness need to go. All they did was slap a new shiny coat of paint on poor functioning mechanics. The core of the game is gameplay that is where the value is, the rest compliments the beauty of the gameplay. But of course like bungie always does “we heard telesto was a problem so we removed the radar.” The workarounds are intended to be out of the box thinking that doesn’t root cause the issue unfortunately.

2 RepliesI just can't believe the crucible engram focusing is weapons that been basically dropping like candy the last year or more..smh..missed opportunity for new weapons and also bring back some that have been lost to time. I cant wait to focus my 1000th riptide.

I agree about AE & Sliding. As far as quitting penalties - I don't care because I don't quit games. It's a garbage move in the first place, regardless of penalties.
