We need a companion AI that can fight at our side. It’s been a long time coming. But I have ideas on how it can pan out since the Season of Plunder introduced this mechanic: - The player has to do a quest to unlock their personal companion that fights with them on Season Activities, Open World Exploration, Strikes and Nightfalls. Throughout the quest, The player will have the choice to whether or not their companion will originate from the Fallen that reside in the last city or the newly allied forces of the Cabal. -There will be only 2 kinds of companions: A small servitor and an honored war beast. - The war beast takes the offensive role in combat. It goes after minor enemies and draws attention from its master. Also, It has an ability called ‘Rally Roar’ that gives its master reduced ability cooldown to their least charged ability and it minor increase in weapon damage. The cooldown to this ability is 90 seconds. -The small Servitor takes the defensive role in combat, Staying within close proximity of its master. The servitor fire void projectiles at the enemy just like the others do. Also, Its ability is known as ‘Ether Link’ casts a void tether onto its master that will reduce incoming damage. If the player has a void subclass equipped while Ether Link is up, The servitor will fire a single, large projectile that will weaken the target directly hit and suppressing any targets nearby them. However, This will expend the masters class ability fully. -Both companions can be named. (Nothing naughty though.) So far, This is all I can provide without going into vast nuances that may or may not be what the developers want with companions. However, I would love it both the team at Bungie as well as likeminded individuals comment and share my idea around. I want to continue posting ideas on the forums that can expand the wonderful game that is Destiny 2 into something even more amazing. 😊
