So Bungie still gonna ignore their piss poor matchmaking?
Guess they really will keep quiet and not say anything on it since they’ve got other issues to deal with. Only been horrible matchmaking for how long now? Lol

So they probably won't do anything. You want some changes here, then try to stop the flow of cash and support. Stop throwing money at screen. Then probably you'll see some changes. Probably. This is an old game with old, buggy system. They are just riding out the waves on shallow waters here. Like some people say here, vote with your wallet and your time. If you want changes, then stop the flow and drop the game. Then maybe, just maybe they'll probably improve. Who knows. Game is so bad it doesn't deserve your time and money anyway. It's just empty and broken now! 😂😂😂 State of the game!

4 RepliesIt's really funny when they like to say "We made Halo". Even Halo had skill based matchmaking. Bungie's crucible is a joke, it does not have skill base match making, it is peer to peer connection, and filled with toxicity. When they got rid of skill based match making to try and "reduce the lag" (it was catering to streamers and everyone knows it) and go to connection based match making it didn't fix anything. It just shortened the length of the queue times which to me is a lot less important than having a balanced out match. I would much rather go into a match where I feel like it's been even all the way through rather than deal with an algorithm that ends 70% of the time with Shaxx saying "I'm calling this one" or Saladin saying "I'm calling it". Then when anybody says anything about it they are met with complete toxicity. That's what happens when you have a community that is made up of mostly toxic players and a developer that themselves is toxic. They'll just keep taking our money giving us minimal content and not improving the quality of life of the game.

A lot of YouTube content creators and Twitch streamers happen to be in the top 10% and even top 1%. They often have to match with players on the other side of the planet which makes for horrible lag. New players will often have watched some Twitch and YouTube D2 content. Seeing the really bad lag in PvP isn’t good advertisement.

Simple solution (at least as the SBMM vs CBMM debate), give players the matchmaking options older Bungie games had. If I'm remembering correctly in halo reach for example you could select strict matchmaking which is just skill based, open matchmaking for when you don't care you just wanna play and moderate for when you'd like a little focus on connections but still include skill as a matchmaking factor.

Used to play regular crucible. 9/10 matches are a guaranteed loss. Been playing IB rift, and winning 9/10 matches. I LOVE rift. Maybe it's because the team balancing in that one isn't so atrocious, or the engagements in that mode don't feel like I've never stood s chance, my melees actually have been working, damage is consistent and not like rolling a die for the most part. I don't know what it is but EVERYTHING about rift and this season IB has been working for me and making me feel like I've ACTUALLY been playing shooting games for years and not being chucked by all sorts of random bs. I can see why people complain about the team based objective, but other than that, no connection issues, no team balancing issues, literally a perfect gamemode (compared to anything else you can get from a pvp gamemode made in destiny)

1 ReplyYou gotta be aware of the fact that, no matter how Bungie changes the matchmaking, it will always upset someone at someplace in the world. For example, if they would bring back SBMM (Skill based Matchmaking) the Latency for cross-continental play would be insane, as same as for regional play. If they keep sticking to CBMM (Connection based Matchmaking) they will slowly burn out the veterans and also disgust away mostly all new PvP players joining the game. It is a cycle of endless problems. The best solution would probably a good mix of SBMM and CBMM that makes no one really happy but also isn't annoying as much as it is now.

Matchmaking is the tip of the iceberg. Matchmaking algorithm is awful Spawn locations in 6v6 are atrocious No region locks, stop putting me in central Asian lobbies Bring back connection status bars for everyone Dedicated servers, come on guys, this should be the industry standard, it's been around for 15 years or more. It's not expensive, hell even let clans rent servers, I would happily pay 100/month for a dedicated server split across a clan that a dollar each for a full clan. Imagine the comradery within clans if they could rent their own PvP servers?

8 RepliesThey have never play tested out of house. That’s the issue. Their play testing is like me and my friends playing each other. If they ever actually played their MM out of house, they wouldn’t get a single kill. It’s so bad right now, and it’s a week or so into the season. I expect this games soundtrack to be crickets very soon. It’s just not fun. Theirs no challenge to try and get better when it’s this buster.
