Buff scouts.

Please buff scouts. They need something. And nerf hand cannons.

  • I think the least they can do is allow underpowered weapons like scouts and autos be fully craftable with a large mod pool to help close the gap they have in the current sandbox. Being able to add certain mods on certain guns would go a long way to overcome their inherent limits.

  • Jade Rabbit is one of my favorites, its ok, I wouldn't say it needs a buff but it could use an extra perk, if I could give it anything I would give it Desperado for the catalyst.

  • Currently my scout, Night Watch is fine right now. It has subsistence and explosive payload. Has a somewhat similar stats to my old buddy, The Purpose scout rifle from the Trials of the Nines. But I added the full auto mod to it, so making it my own version to Randy's Throwing Knife (which I never got to this day). Loved it alot pairing it with the Le Monarque bow.

    • Agreed. The only scouts I like right now are rapid fire frames. Anything else just doesn't have enough impact for how slow the rate of fire is.

      • Yeah, about that. The last time the community ask Bungie to buff them we ended up with the dumb 2 primary system pecking away at the bosses. So be careful what you ask for.

        • I mean the obvi king is still dead mans with easily can compete with hcs and high rof scouts easily compete with everything. in pve i still enjoy using timelost vision or hung jury with explosive rounds.

        • If scouts get any buff in pvp it will be a scout rifle meta. The thing with handcannons is that they do the best at peek shooting so unless they get nerfed to the ground (which won't happen) they'll always be dominant. The solution isnt to bring one weapon up and drop one down, the solution is to have more maps with various ranges and not just close - mid range. Maps like eternity see more scout rifle usage compared to a map like exodus blue which sees very little scouts.

              • My Scholar is good. Maybe buffing handling a bit would be nice. But what do I know. I spend most of my time kneeing people in the face.

                They nerfed scouts because people were saying they were too over powered in PvP. No one complained about PvE. So they nerfed PvE anyway. All scouts almost have the slowest TTK, unless you hit precision shots. But that was one of their nerfs as well, that AA was lowered on them to “come more in line with snipers” for range encounters. Problem? There are almost ZERO range encounters that can’t be don’t with a HC, AR, or even a SMG. Because: 1) enemies really are never that far away. 2) HC still have insane ranged precision dps and also perform in close combat. ARs got a dps buff which makes them more viable. SMGs, some can be handled very accurately at range. 3) Did I mention almost nothing is out of range for HCs, ARs, and SMGs? Because Bungie listened to the player base to make more fights more aggressive and fun with more enemies. Scouts are slowing losing any place in this game. That includes snipers. Their only real appeal is the high dps you can do if you land the shot. And we get special ammo so often we might as well run double special at all times.

                • nahh, scouts have to much range to be able to kill as quickly and as easily as other guns.

                  • I don’t agree with needing handcannons, tweak them maybe but they are okay where they are, scout rifles on the other hand need some love for sure

                    • Scouts would need a lot more handling, less zoom, and higher bodyshot damage for them to be decent in pvp. In pve they just need damage buffs and more handling.

                      • I am not so sure that scouts need a buff than I am that Bungie's dev need to understand the concept of range and why HCs should not be able to map their targets.
