Guardian Games - Nothing is new
The title says it all, nothing is new in this year's Guardian Games. Some may call this Training and Recreational play list is new but really it's just strikes with a score added.
You had several months to remake and make GG fun but it's just like every other event where you claim something is new but it already either existed or just renamed activity nodes.

8 RepliesNew DLC the Witch Queen coupled with Season 16 arrive a couple months ago. Bungie says record preorders. #hype 1st free seasonal activity that is showcased is Guardian Games which has historically been a bounty grind event and the 2022 edition is simply copy paste from previous years. What did Bungie do with all this new found cash from the WQ and S16? It wasn’t put into developing any new content for Guardian Games 2022 that’s for certain. It wasn’t used to donate to charity or other causes because they keep asking the community for money to do that. Makes me wonder what the heck is going on at HQ?

1 ReplyMy first impression upon reading the TWAB was that the Training and whatever the other mode is falling on certain days follows the pattern of the old Iron Banner where people would horde bounties to do near the end of the week. Haven't had a chance to jump in with so much hockey, lately, but reading the forums, it appears I'm not missing much, so no FOMO on this end. Sorry, Bungie, not sorry.

It’s the same things we have been doing the entire year. They paint them with a different colour and call it new (this critic also applies to the Vex Mythoclast ornaments). They should have just brought back an improved SRL. Not only would it fit with the competitive nature of the event, but it would also be an opportunity to improve sparrows (as currently they are pretty much just cosmetics) and give a purpose to some neglected NPCs like Amanda. And just like factions, SRL was an interesting part of the lore of the game that got cut out because it’s easier and cheaper for them to just add scores to the strike playlist and call it a day. We don’t need more Destiny, we need NEW Destiny.

I like the medals, but otherwise it is just another grind fest. Also feels pretty rigged towards Warlocks.

Nothing is new yet they have a "bug" where the gun isn't dropping. Isn't that funny? How is it that they always have these "bugs" when new guns are put into the loot pool? Such a slimy corporation. Shouldn't be surprised from liberal ran organizations.

Overall rework while keeping what it was....but sure nothing new .... Lets complain about an activity happening once a year for 3 weeks ..... With that logic trials and IB should be the worst reused content

The whole "guardian games" theme makes no sense. So it's the The Last City's version of the Olympic Games that has no competitions after they removed SRL? Why not have events hosted on different planets? An obstacle course race on Europa, An Archery competition on Mars, A board game played at the Tower? The current version seems like a wasted opportunity...
