Halo infinite’s pvp has been out for like what, 3 or 4 months?!? And yet it’s sandbox is better than destiny’s! Destiny is damn near 5 years old and still can’t balance shotguns at all! Sure in halo the shotgun sucks, but even if it got a buff, it wouldn’t be nearly as strong as shotguns in destiny are! What the damage falloff for them now? 7 meters? Point blank shots in halo don’t kill, which they should, but they don’t. But the insane ranges that shotguns in destiny have compared to literally any other game that I’ve played, this is just beyond unfair. Losing a trials match just because you’re at 97 on someone’s res and then you die in one hit from behind at an absurd range should not happen.
When you get to shotgun range, damn near no amount of skill can combat them. Whether it’s a no scope melee, or another shotgun, the likelihood of you dying or trading is insane. The chances of you surviving are so damn low that if you survive, I suggest you buy a lottery ticket. If you’ve got luck that good to survive a shotgun, then you might be rich.
The pure simplicity of getting into shotgun range is insane too! You can hold forward while someone is shooting at you with a primary and still kill them! Who needs primary weapons when you have shotguns!?! Who needs skill when you have shotguns?!?

7 RepliesLoL if 7 meters is insane to you then shotguns aren’t the problem. This is a YOU problem.

Shotguns are balanced my friend

2 RepliesBecause you have a game that is being balanced around the right game elements. Slow killing weapons for slow, predictably moving targets. Also—from what I’ve seen from video—-HI doesn’t let you fire weapons when you’re using the grapple to augment your mobility. The issue with Destiny is that shotguns aren’t the problem. The problem is that you have slow killing primary weapons, paired with fast, unpredictably moving targets. Targets that can use fast-killing abilities and OHK weapons while moving fast. Bungie refuses to balance the TTK to the speed of player motion. So it becomes impossible to balance the rest of the game. TLDR: Bungie has spent six years trying to pound a square peg into a round hole. The pattern of failure isn’t the round hole’s fault.

Keep complaining and will be at D2Y1 in no time buddy!

i tell you a secret, shotguns are balanced
-
Shotties are dogwater in comparison to fusions and slugs

Shotguns in halo have always been weak hell the shields in that game make sure of that unless you are barrel stuff them. Shotguns in destiny are far from broken if anything if they are not a slug they are inconsistent at best.

3 RepliesHalo infinity pvp is absolute trash. Its nothing but sword/hammer and grenades spam. The game takes no skill at all.

Edited by Ingwe-Queen: 11/29/2021 3:42:36 PM
an almost 5 year old game
They have been the same for 7yrs 9 September 2014 to 29 November 2021 = 7yrs

Shotguns have been balanced multiple times in the Destiny franchise. Nobody likes that -blam!-, so they always revert the changes that balance them.

My experience with shotguns in that game is that they don’t work? I haven’t been killed by one, or killed anyone with one. The rest of the guns feel great though.

Well to be fair bungie have to deal with perk combinations that effect the entire performance of many different shotguns, however i do agree that infinite feels good and the shotgun is far more balanced than destiny. People are quick to write it off but it's fire rate does allow you to absolutely melt people that you can get close to

Halo has to work about balancing a while what 2 shotguns? How many shotguns are in D2 with different perk combos and archetypes

4 RepliesThe big difference is scale, and well the whole game. You spawn with a loadout in Destiny, Halo's about equal starts. That and I'm gonna go out and say the bulldog is so bad you should just stick to the AR.
