Bungie, I ask again, please remove new light quests, story popups, and all other new light stuff when a veteran makes a 2nd/3rd character

As a solo hunter since, I sometimes want to try the other classes. When I do, I immediatly regret it because i keep getting swarmed by all the new light garbage id have to do. Yes, yes, i can ignore it after a few missions but still. With the quest kiosk (which never gets used), why should veterans still deal with seeing all the tutorial quests and story popups? I dont want to feel like a new light who hasnt killed multiple gods just because I decided to try a warlock. Im fine re earning gear and slowly making myself powerful again, but seriously, let New Lights be new. Let veterans be veterans, regardless of what class they do. So, to summarize, keep the gear grind. Turn the tutorials and story stuff account-based. So if I do make a 2nd character, I can keep my place in the story timeline, yet still have to strengthen myself

  • Idea time: Once campaigns, or quests are completed on one character, they're sent to the kiosk as optional stuff for other characters.

Mimimimi. If u start a new character that u have never played. You. Are. A. New. Light. Deal with it. Besides that. You are no Veteran when u just started to play more characters

  • For all they know it's a shared account. Like you main a Hunter but when you're away or at work your wife plays and she mains a Titan. If that's the case then she should be told all the new things she has access to, and have the new light tutorial to show her the ropes. This would apply to kids too, or a variety of other situations. At the same time, an option when creating the character to check a box and say this is an alt character and you want to turn of or skip tutorial stuff would be nice. Xcom for example has an option to skip tutorial and reduce VO that you can select when starting a new campaign. I agree that for multiple characters you should have the option to autocomplete campaigns. It's annoying that my warlock still have quest notifications for shadowkeep stuff even though I've already completed it on my warlock, got the exotic from the story but because we can't recustomize our character I remade him to change his look. I get why it might be a bad idea to just have everything be autocompleted when you make a second character. I did enjoy replaying the campaign using a different class because they play out a little differently with the supers/abilities/exotics etc. But at least having the option would be nice.

  • True veterans have had 3 characters since D1... your argument is invalid.

    • A real "veteran" would already have 3 chars since the beginning of d1. Run along now little casual.

I've been here since day 1 d1, and rarely do I ever have three characters. I have 3 now and will probably delete them to satisfy my pride in my Warlock, but when some new raid exotic comes out I'll need the other two again I'm sure. I do agree with you that it's highly unnecessary to have the quests active for players with current profiles.

        • I mean a veteran player can be making a new character contrary to what ppl here are saying. Like me I'm currently making a new hunter right now and been playing since d1 beta. Reason cuz I wanted my toon to look different and it's the only way to do so. Now I have to redo everything just cuz I wanted an appearance change.

        • Wait...you have two guardians and only play one. Why are you complaining about new light stuff?

        • Technically your warlock or Titan IS a new light, but yeah it would be nice if I wanna reset my character to change my look to not redo everything.

          • I agree that Bungie could base whether you're a new light based on your overall years of playing destiny. I started in 2018 during the Warmind expansion, and I've wanted to make a warlock, but I hate how many quests they shove down your throat as soon as you create the character.

          • I agree I mean whether it’s a “shared” account or not, you literally have the option to pick up the quests from the kiosk so why not?? having to play through all the story again should be an option not a requirement. Especially on a class I don’t even really want to play. I hate that you can just use duplicate classes anymore tbh. If I’ve played through all the dlc on my main already I for darn sure don’t want to do it again lol especially having to unlock stasis and the artifacts again. It’s a drag and the reason I haven’t played the other classes tbh. It’s a drag even if you have the time.. it’s not that interesting the second or third time around like the end game content would be.
