Twice tonight we were ddosed playing trials and it shutdown my entire home network. My wife lost progress on work she was doing, my home security system went offline, and all access to the internet was disabled. I'm not here to ask for anything because I'm done playing the game for good now, but folks should know what security risks are posed by even playing Destiny 2 at home given the shoddy code and poor p2p implementation. Shameful.

13 RepliesP2P will always expose your connection. That is literally how it works. You also agreed to it when you signed the EULA, so I'm sorry you got dos'd but its a "liability" you were aware of and agreed to.
-
4 RepliesYou got dosed not ddosed, and that can happen playing any online multiplayer game, not a bungie problem, but more so a you problem not having a better router or using a VPN
-
Reset your IP. You can't ddos anymore but there's websites with gamertags and their IPS. If you're on there, you'll get dossed until you change the IP.
-
And those players will have like 70+ Flawless runs, with zero kills, but for Bungie is fine because Trials is made for cheaters. I’ve almost gone flawless twice, both of them were lost due to DDoS’ers
-
35 RepliesAnd just to think a simple VPN setup could have avoided this.... Dont blame the game or the devs for your own failure regarding online security at home.
-
3 RepliesBungie should be sued for still having a peer-to-peer game in 2021, where internet security is so important.

Shameful.
See what bungie should implement is a system that detects when someone (from an ip) is manipulating the network and kick them offline from the servers and warn them first and if caught again ban them for good Shocking basic anticheat system i know, it's almost like no other companies have ever done this ..oh wait.. they do Also it would be NICE IF bungie would also implement a "minimum internet requirements to play" system that would DENY access to the servers if their Internet was constantly garbage as just one person can make everyone else lag in pvp etc.. but bungie would never do that because they just don't wanna offend anybody

10 RepliesI still stand by that this game should get rid of all PvP activities. The toxic 12 year old headband wearing kids that are constantly tied up to a continuous stream of Ritalin and Mountain Dew would leave and the game would be better for it.

2 RepliesEdited by SeitenTaisei: 4/5/2021 6:36:18 AMSorry you had to go through that.

Literally everything Destiny 2 does is matching you with people. Nothing more nothing less. If Destiny 2 matches you with people who want to harm you and you didn't took time to setup (or inform yourself) of how you can prevent being critically damaged by DoS attacks it's also your fault. If you even know that you are getting matched peer to peer and also know what that means and you didn't bother to protect yourself, you can't only point your finger at bungie.

4 RepliesSo many salty trials losers claiming DDOS in this thread.
-
Ddosed by D2 hackers! Entire network etc...
-
2 RepliesFor someone who is done playing the game for good it didn’t take you long after your post to play D2 again 😂🤣😂🤣.
-
1 ReplyThat really sucks. But why don't just buy a modem with router that has DDos protection in it ? Mine has, and never had any issues ;)
-
18 RepliesBungie is the laughing stock of gaming

18 RepliesIt's already April 4th guys. Are you kidding me?... You're too late for April's fools day. Is this supposed to be some kind of joke?... I understand DDoS. But network security?...It's 2021! Tell me it's just DDoS because this is the first time I've heard compromised network issues because that's criminal! You don't go here to fix that. I'll take this as DDoS sarcasm for now. Funny though!😂

12 RepliesAll my friends and i got ddosed in trials, everything went down, i have a clip of it...
-
2 RepliesBungie doesn’t have servers to keep this from happening. Bungie doesn’t want the responsibility of dealing with that type of issue. So to all the players who refuse to see the truth of bungie doesn’t have servers you are the problem with fixing a lot of the online play. Peer to peer connection is not working.
-
2 RepliesBungie historically does nothing about this or any kind of cheater. Tbh they have proven multiple times they don’t give a shit about us. They care about our money. I’ve walked away too. Before anyone says yeah they are a business, well that could be said about a lot of better companies as well. Destiny 2 has 48 million copies sold and has one of the lowest player retention rates of any company. This season at its highest had 1.2 million. I think that speaks for itself.
-
2 RepliesThere will always be issues when it comes to cheating, but Bungie's bright idea adding the new light system made matter worse than they were prior to it. Also, their special P2P that has worked so well for 6 years now, how could anything ever go wrong...
-
1 ReplyThey should get rid of Trials It's gotten out of control
-
1 ReplyAll that trouble just so people can go "Flawless"? Imagine if the people doing the "Deedeeing" put their effort into solving real world problems..
-
For me, the cox wi-fi shut down right when my mom turned in her school work. I play on PS4. I had to wait a few hours without my precious video games.
-
6 RepliesScreenshots of the ddos offenders are available on request if anyone from bungie reads this
-
Recently gangs busted by police for attacking gaming sites, only 3 countries do that
-
2 RepliesI assume if its possible to Ddos it would also be possible for them to access your network so that is another security liability
