Finished Thread- Hate mail in PvP
[spoiler]Today during my time in pvp with friends- we decided to stack.
As a stack we run very efficiently and we enjoy each other's company. It has been a while since all of us actually stacked- and we have varying degrees of skill.
It was fun and care free.
[b][u]I accidentally left my message notifications from outside my friends list on.... BIG MISTAKE.[/u][/b]
I got at least 1 hate mail or 2 per game because I'm
>Using my igneous hammer/ nation of beasts and crutching on it.
>Using my sniper and crutching on it
>Using my subclass (stasis in this case) and crutching on it
>Having friends to stack with - and we mercied the other team.
>Moving too much
>Teamshotting too much
>Using abilities
>Using a pulse rifle
>Thinking im cheating (i wasn't even number 1 on my team majority of the time.)
>Thinking I play M&K on console.... lol
My friends also got mail too. It was all around toxic. I know when I get stomped and defeated, I go out of my way to compliment the number 1 player, observe what the top 3 did right, and learn from my mistakes. I know not to get heated because everyone is trying to have fun. I know I am not the best nor am I the worst. I know that I can always improve.
What really ruins it- and this pvp community is the toxicity of some of its very vocal players. You can use white weapons and slap them- they will still send hate mail. You can use only melee, they will still send hate.
TL:DR
If you get stomped or outplayed, and go out of your way to send hate mail- you're exactly what is wrong with this community and you should find a new game to play.
This game will never feel balanced, but it feels good.
This game will always have a flavor of the season or month- but with skill you can counter it.
This game will always have someone equal or better than you- get over yourself and accept personal responsibility for your mistakes in [b][u]a game that doesn't need to run your life and mood.[/u][/b]
I'm gonna challenge you- send positivity and GGs out when you win and lose. Stop being toxic. Remember, there is a human being behind the screen- and everyone has their own way to interpret stuff. If you win- and stomp? Send a GG and compliment what you saw good (i did this today)
If you lose do the same.
But by God stop sending hate mail, you aren't doing yourself a favor, your spreading bs to where it doesn't need to, and you're making our game look really bad.

You're exploiting unbalanced elements in the game, which ruins everybody's enjoyment. Their annoyance is justified 100%, but they're going about it the wrong way. Also, this isn't some rampant problem like you're suggesting. I do pretty well in Crucible as well (mainly Rumble, and I play a LOT of Rumble) and I almost never get hate mail. Your loadout (mainly Stasis Hunter HC cheese) is currently overtuned and it pisses people off who are just looking for a fair game.

Crunching on stasis and meta in a stack is kinda cringe... when I play in a stack we always use non meta it’s more fun and a challenge 6 person coms vs randoms gives a huge advantage

1 ReplyI rarely get Hate mail. But I honestly just back out against 6 stacks. Most of them are self admitted kd farmers or ELO Farmers. So I'm not going to waste my time. I can kill 1 or 2 of them. But when you can 6 guys rushing with stasis and felwinters you can only do so much. Losing against a 6 stack dosen't make you bad.

I can completely understand wanting to play with friends/clan mates. I usually do sometimes at the beginning of each season before they all get burned out and take a break. The only time it becomes infuriating is when there's 4-6 stack on one team several games in a row and it always leads to them mercying. I can accept losing a match, but not when it's mercy after mercy due to a stacked team. I just want to get onto quickplay, chill and have some fun. My friends are burnt out on Destiny for now and don't really want to play quickplay or even have a clan rumble night right now so I can't play with them and instead i go in solo. It's really not fun when the enemy team goes in fully stacked and ends it with a mercy rule every single game. I don't want to be REQUIRED to lfg or get a fireteam for a game mode like this. I want to have fun just as much as the stacked players, but when they always mercy rule us after 2 minutes of the match starting then it just becomes unfun. You can stack and have fun, but just remember that there are players that don't have the ability to stack right now and want to have fun as well.

1 ReplyI usually try to send GGs, especially if I see legitimately skilled teams that I face. I don't send it to all of them, but I will usually go to the highest scorer of their groups and say ggs to you all or something along those lines. You keep playing how you want to play, ignore the trolls and people who get too serious about a game.

1 ReplyGit... bad? Idk lol. Hate mail is from people that are inevitably worse than you, but granted solos vs a six man fireteam isn't exactly balanced. Of course you're going to get hatemail if you're a pro in a full team. Sh*t like that is unstoppable and I know, I've been on both ends and almost always back out on the receiving cause its an inevitable loss. I've had a few funny hate mails in the past though: "NIGHT CHIKENS RUN LIKE CHIKENS CHIKEN?" One cursed me for sniping him multiple times on Pantheon in D1 and said stuff like "f*cker f*ck you", "cheater mafia", "you in jail" etc.

1 ReplyYou should be happy. Everyone time I play I’m looking forward to hate messages or people leaving angry comments on my steam profile, I have over 10 pages of hate comments. I could delete them, or not let people post, but I love it. Me and my friends read them and laugh, knowing we ran over some kids so hard the only thing they could do is pull up my profile and try desperately to release their anger by leaving a comment. When ever someone is trying to be toxic to you, whatever you’re doing is working, keep it up and don’t stop until they break their keyboard with anger.

1 ReplyI had the most wholesome game of trials a few days back we all complimented each other’s plays and at the end we all said gg no hate or anger it was a pretty close game I wish every match was like that Best I can do for getting stomped is I say unfortunate and move on if it’s not hurting me irl not affecting me a year down the road then I do not care

I dont support hatemails etc. Kids do that shit or men who have to grow up and have some problems to solve in their live but what does it matter if someone you dont know msg you a hatemail? I would not take it too personally. I think people are sick of the mode it has been so bad and out of wack for a long time. I use my trustee, smg and light subclasses. I’m no where near the crutches but it has gotten old and I have stopped playing. I don’t blame the players I blame Bungie as they are the ones that cannot fix or balance their game. I do not think they have the talent to move this game forward and that is a big problem.

But anyway that whole mood thing is the actual problem. The game is in a pretty good place (though that's not to say I have no disagreements), but people's perception of things they have strong emotions against (whether that's 6-stacks, meta weapons, etc.) make them believe something is wrong with the game when the real fact is that they need to get a hold of themselves. It's a pretty general issue too that goes beyond games. A lack of emotional integrity is the bane of objectivity.
