I met a new player and decided to help him out. This is some 3rd grader. We did the new light missions then I took him I to private matches because we were going to go into control for the new light quest from shaxx. I tried to see what I can do to improve his aim, teach him about awareness, what job each type of weapon has and how they are used, ect.
We then decided to go into control after 2 private matches. Out of all 3 matches, he got aggressively tbagged each one. And on the 3rd on, he got a message along the lines of "you cant even play the game. That's why in bagging. Just uninstall". What. The. F***. I don't have words to describe how pissed I was.
What the f*** is wrong with this community🤦♂️
This all around is just completely messed up. I feel bad for the kid. He was actually having fun with the game. I'm disappointed in this community. We have stooped so low to a point I didnt think we could get to. This is not how new players should be treated. In fact, this ain't how people in general should be treated. How is this acceptable?
Edit: Forgot to mention this because I just went to bed after writing this but I had already informed him about crucible not really being fun and it being toxic. When he did get bagged, he told me he was going to bag them back and I said not to. I told him to not stoop to their level. He then told me to go 1v1 them and I said no because I'm not going to that far and waste my time on some bozo with an ego. I never really do 1v1s in the first place because I find it a waste of time unless its with my buddy's for funsies and we do stupid stuff or I'm trying to help a new player like that kid.
I already had him block the one who messaged him and told him to ignore people like that because they may feel good about themselves. But in reality, they are making themselves look extreamly stupid and that they have the mental capacity of a zucchini. The kid didnt seem bothered much and was ignoring it which is good, but I can't stand by and let that s*** slide. Especially if I'm the one helping him. Because it's still messed up no matter how you look at it.
Edit 2: Some of you are missing the point. Yes, the kid is a 3rd grader. No, I'm not his parent. I didnt give him the ok to play a game at the age he isnt supposed to. And if I had a kid, I most likely wouldn't let them play the game at his age either in the first place, or at least without my supervision. But its 2020 and heading into 2021, people are -blam!-. I'm not angry at the fact that he is a kid experiencing this. I'm angry that new players in general are being treated in a similar manner. I've seen a good chunk of new players on the forums and in the game getting treated like garbage. That's why I'm writing about this.

Its a very crappy experience i know has happened in halo alot but people don't know how to respect other people sadly.

Because by and large, this community is a toxic shit hole. Find a large clan, get in their discord, and ignore everyone who isn't in it. Clan admins actually care about the members and don't ban people for saying whatever term had been labeled bad by the PC police that day. Check out my clan. Great people. No toxicity. This forum is where the worst people in destiny come to try and out troll each other.

2 RepliesPeople suck. It’s that simple. Those that are toxic are just garbage human beings. The same can be said about the idiots saying things like children shouldn’t be on a online video game, playing online, or playing PvP. It’s the parents job to parent when the kid does something wrong. In the case of a kid booting up a shooting game about shooting people aliens and other players in a mock battle scenario. The kid is not in the wrong and neither are the parents. The ones being toxic and ect are the problem. So, if you think the parents of a kid should be judged they let their kid play a harmless game then you should look in a -blam!-ing mirror. It’s not on the kid or the kids parents. It’s on the folks that disregard, promote, or enable this behavior. In short...
If you find yourself blaming a kid for playing a video game or blaming the parents for allowing their kid to play online video games instead of the ones being PoS then you are just as bad the PoS they were talking about because you’re justifying PoS behavior
2 RepliesToo many kids raised by video games and not by their parents.

1 ReplyPVP is not a place to introduce new players, unless he's a punk himself and rants about having s_x with your mother. I mean, many Destiny players are vulgar teens who like to say bad things, and most of them are playing PVP. Some of them LFG too. New players are either going to meet people like you and me, or they'll meet new generation bad-mouths. It's the real world, there's good and bad. Don't generalize about Destiny players treating new players badly, many are very nice and help a lot. Sometimes new players expect too much help, and instead of getting better, they just ask for help as soon as an activity is a little hard.

Hate to say it but that’s what happens when u lobby balance players with a majority of .8 KD or worse players against 1.2+ players. Obviously not all of them are like that. And the .8 players can be just as bad. But lobby balancing this season has alienated the community. Players with a .8 get farmed and that makes them angry and 1.2+ are constantly loosing games and getting forced into 2-3 v. 1 situations because the .8 players can’t win their 1v1s which means they to will encounter more 2-3 v. 1 situation. Which make them both angry. Bungie has created a crucible where the less than average player more than likely won’t enjoy games due to constantly get farmed and where the above average player will constantly loose because the below average player is getting farmed. So now they are divided both hating each other and blaming each other for why they can’t enjoy crucible instead of looking to bungie who has allowed the state of the game to fall to this level.

1 ReplyTea bagging is carried out by people too stupid to not use a suitable emote. Something like phryrric victory. It needs to make the other person laugh. I like the tea drinking one. Remember when ever in a ward of dawn you need a DJ and dancing.

Edited by LocoToopa: 1/2/2021 3:41:18 PMIf anyone gets remotely salty about someone else pressing a button repeatedly on their controller/keyboard, then they probably need to stop taking themselves so seriously....🤷♂️ It's just a video game...enjoy the bants I'm actually sad when no one else is bagging in any given match.

1 ReplyWhy are trying to meet third graders? Weirdo...
-
We don’t, you’re just looking in the wrong areas. I know plenty of people who will go above and beyond to help others out. Try Twitch, join a clan, just cause a small group of people act elite doesn’t mean the rest of the community is.
-
Because its Destiny. You think this is bad you should see the Overwatch or Dead By Daylight community.

Edited by aequus: 1/2/2021 6:17:32 AMPvP is no place for a kid with comms and text for that reason. Also, PvP in general is hostile it shouldn't be but it is, nothing more annoying then getting paired up with ppl who have no clue as to what they're doing, or how to play the game so ppl lash out i'm sure. Not saying this is right, its not but its the way it is.

2 RepliesHave you ever used lfg to raid and met all the wannabe elitists in this game? Ppl that legit don’t do anything else besides play destiny in life and act like you should kiss their ass for playing with you. Sadly destiny is full of narcissistic players with zero anything past what they do in game
-
if you think a t-bag is low your expectations of people are too high
-
I’m not sure why your negatively generalizing the whole community due to a few clowns on pvp.
-
First of all, a 3rd grader shouldn't be playing this game at all, second, kid needs to get over it. I received my first hate mail when I was his age, and I didn't give a single -blam!-. Third, those guys just wanted to ruin someone's day since they weren't loved by their parents
-
"Kidz these daeyz would not surviv a modern wafer lobbe XD"
-
1 ReplyHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Let the kid be a man, he should bag them. great stuff and nice work. nit reedit gold for you

New to shooters, eh?

4 RepliesThe way people treat others is always a mirror for the way they treat themselves. Basically toxic people secretly hate themselves.
-
4 Replies1. New players are not exclusively treated like this. Just wanted to make that clear. 2. Most of us, especially those who have been playing since D1, think that all the f2p New Blights are 1/3 of the reason this franchise has taken a nose dive. So I'd say they only get treated slightly more harshly than others. Not saying all new players are bad. Just the ones who act entitled. You all know the kind I'm talking about.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 1/2/2021 1:37:29 AMIf a kid is teabagging, he's asking to be insulted by the people he is trying to insult. Don't insult others if your skin is too thin to receive insults back. New players might be being abused because they don't know how to find good people to play with and play with anyone that will take them. If someone is sensitive to elitist players, they should find friendly people or a friendly clan.

6 RepliesBungie breeds toxicity by catering the crucible try hards the way they have since D1. It's disheartening honestly.
