With all the positivity I got from this post I just want to say thank you. Since the release of Beyond Light we finally got an answer to all of those commentators that were saying we are all non binary guardians and that is most certainly not the case. The new update took gender titles away to fit all types of players Male, Female and Non Binary alike. The community is supposed to support each other and not force labels on each other, that is not what Destiny is all about. It’s about fighting together in a world where people would love to see us fall, but not us, not this day. Thanks again for all the supportive comments and for the haters, I hope you enjoy the game and rethink how you could have commented. My post was in no way to start an argument, it was merely a question I had asked because it concerned me especially when we work so hard on our characters and we view them as our personal property even if Bungie nerfs and sunsets our gear. Thanks and always remember “Eyes up guardian!”

1 ReplyDon’t you know, equality is what “they” tell us it is. You’re no longer allowed to have an opinion unless you’re “woke”. Pretty sad world we live in these days.

This is a huge reach. The change is to make character choice more of a body type and not a sex, that has zero relevance to your irl self.
-
1 ReplyOr they figured because every guardian in this game is a zombie that male and female my not relate to well preserved corpses that move.
-
1 ReplyI've always seen it as a perception thing. If you see yourself as [insert thought here] then you can be. So if you see yourself as female then you still are

1 ReplyPrepare to be censored and suspended.

THPS1+2 doesn't have gender specific character design and it's kinda weird.
-
9 RepliesI believe that there are two genders and they should be properly represented. Male and Female. That is it.
-
1 ReplyThis is nonsense. It's not supposed to reflect the gender identity of an individual, it's to reflect the physical characteristics for character creation. You can identify as whatever you want, Christ some people out there identify as furry animals for some reason, but they still have a body and that body would classify as either masculine or feminine in this game.

6 RepliesLmfaooo is post is so sad. Go find a Facebook group to join and cry to for attention. 🤷🏻♂️

2 RepliesIt appears to just be a change to the gender name during character creation. Your Avatar is not changing outside of slight adjustments to facial features for variety as was outlined before. By the way, Masculine just means "the male sex or gender, or having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with men". Feminine means "the female sex or gender, or having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with women".

2 RepliesEdited by Stalwart81: 11/12/2020 7:40:05 PMMy male hunter just got a choppedadikoffomy done and is a now female who has gained 200lbs and dyed her hair purple. I have never felt more equal than now. I have no idea what you’re talking about? Gender dysphoria lol. Delusional wack jobs

1 ReplyDo reanimated corpse killing machines have gender? Lul.
-
1 ReplyIts 0.6% of the population being too stupid to understand the difference between male/female and man/woman. And Bungie taking advantage of that stupidity to boost revenue. Wasted resources that could have been better used to fix actual problems instead of catering to people who fight about which public bathroom to use.

Bungo is based in Seattle. Of course, they are full of SJWs and PC weirdos.
-
1 ReplyYou can be female. One of the defining characteristics of a female is being feminine. Choose that for female. The change is a bit overly pc imo, but it is just semantics in the end.

2 RepliesWhere my Apache helicopters at?

3 RepliesExactly why those options should never change or be adjusted. Just leave male/female. People can assume whatever fits their fancy. This entire gender A-Z/1-9 is utter bullshit. Idgaf whatever idiots think they are, in the end it comes to X or Y. Just leave those and just stay out of the political nonsense. God forbid every company doesn't rush to accomidate one community who cries the loudest...

Bungie is supporting non-binary identity by changed a text file but not bothering to change the multitude of voice lines which use him, her, he, she, his, hers, brother, sister, lord, lady, etc.
-
1 Reply
Bungie is forcing their views and opinions into my own play style.

I can’t turn away when they are messing with me personally and I no longer feel like my voice matters. This option is not promoting equality Bungie, you should change it where everyone can choose.

Invasion of our personal characters is a no no...
o_o

1 ReplyWhile it’s not a big deal, I personally think adding a third gender option would have been better.
-
8 RepliesYou’re not a female. You’re a feminine guardian. That’s the new world we live in. -blam!- I hate it
-
1 ReplyIt was probably part of the contract they signed when they purchased their last community award.

1 ReplyI didn't even know this change was implemented. But what else can you expect from Luke "dung beetle" Smith.
