Solo Dungeon achievements - Why do they need to be a single run?

I'd like to see solo dungeons fixed so they don't have to done run a single run the triumph. I went into pit to finish off harbringer, only to find that because i've had to come off destiny before the final boss i get exactly sweet sweet nothing for my effort. It's a bit of a put off when "finish a solo dungeon" doesn't state "finish this in a single setting or don't bother". Honestly not a huge fan of hidden caviats to things. The idea of repeating the whole process and hoping i don't get some random error code kicking me to orbit just isn't right. I appreciate that it would need to be the case for flawless, for obvious reasons, but for a standard run? It just seems silly.

  • To stop people from using boss checkpoints to get solo runs. That's why.

    • What surprises me is that you are attempting a solo run without full preparation. Although I already suspected/knew that it would need to be done in a single run, every guide I looked at also included this information. In regard to "random error codes" this only happened to me once transitioning to the ogre encounter. Fortunately this was a practice run for solo flawless but maybe you check your internet before another attempt if this is a common issue for you. Don't give up, it is worth it, felt pretty good when I got mine on PoH.

    • Completing the first dungeon solo was one of may favorite destiny moments. Brutal and so epic when the bloody wizard popped. Right up there with first hard mode atheon kill and trip to the lighthouse. Definitely worth the pain.

    • I'd like to see the triumph changed to a checklist of each encounter like some of the raid triumphs are

        • Because otherwise you could run a 3 stack to the boss...go to orbit....and reload it solo. Very obvious.

        • My only issue is how damn inconsistent dungeons are. There's a reason I haven't done a solo flawless dungeon yet. Every single dungeon has some inconsistent as -blam!- encounter that you literally have to pray you wont get screwed over by BS. For Shattered Throne its Vorgeth as its either he works properly or shoots you up to the ceiling in 2 shots while invisible. Mind you this is coming from a week 1 raider with Shadow, Blacksmith, etc. Its discouraging, not fun, and ruins any possible demonstration of skill something like a solo dungeon would show. All a solo flawless dungeon run is now is a show of luck. Its annoying. So how about you go ahead and make some genuinely difficult but actually consistently predictable non BS encounters Bungie. The dungeons are amazing with even only 2 people but the moment you go in solo, even when doing well, all the fun is drained out of them.

          • Had same experience with PoH. I think it is this way because otherwise you could just get boss CP from group and get it easily done. So they should add information to the triumph text. In general Bungie has lots of errors and confusion-causing texts here and there.

          • The first time I did Shattered Throne solo, I rage quit on the Ogre then I came back a few days later solo and finished it out. I was able to get the Triumph. Not sure on POH and Prophecy though.

          • Because they want to make sure you do the whole thing, not just start at the boss

          • The triumph should state that. But there should not be save points. Cosmetic rewards should be hard to get. I spent many hours getting mine. I don't need it being made easy.

          • They probably don’t have a system that can tell the difference between you starting it, stopping, and starting again, or just using a checkpoint by joining somebody then leaving, and “cheating” to jump right to boss.

          • it ensures that you don’t have a team help you in the first part. Usually i set aside a long period of time to do solo attempts. they take forever
