The Helsom quest was a cool tribute, and the reward an unexpected surprise!!
Hey Bungie,
I'm adding to the growing list of compliments and "Thank You's" for Matt's tribute. It shows the culture you guys have as an organization, and being in a position of nurturing and instilling a positive and empowering atmosphere in my own workplace, I can really appreciate what something like this does internally within Bungie HQ.
The icing on the cake is the ability to express this outwardly and in a game that is played by so many.
I personally was not expecting anything for quest rewards -- figured maybe an emblem or something easy to insert into the game if there was ever going to be something at the end -- but never would've expected the Exotic Cypher! After a brief hiatus from Destiny (which I regret missing out on), I can now wield the Devil's Ruin after spending my first Cypher on Symmetry (the toss up between the 2 was verrrrrryyyy difficult to make!). I expected to have to wait until next season to pick this Sidearm up, but when I saw what Anna Brey had in store for me after the Investigation, it got me out of my rocker to send this brief note of thanks - for both truly being an awesome community-based game developers you all are, and selfishly for allowing me to add this weapon into my aresnal, and undoubtedly hours of mod armor tweaking to follow... :-)

One thing that struck me is that so many youtubers led me to believe that this event wouldn't have a reward. And even still, with me having little current motivation to play the game, I felt driven to dedicate the time to do this event. I felt an appreciation for the detail in this game. It's so easy to forget about these gorgeous skyboxes surrounding us let alone the minor details in the barrell in a lost sector placed in the edz. No matter how much we, as a community proclaim, that bungie is uninventive, give a quick visit to the corsair in front of the blind well and tell me you've seen it alll

The quest sets you up in a very pleasant way when you go through it, I really liked this mini event

This was such a fantastic sendoff for a person who clearly meant a lot to all who knew him. Whatever I get from Xur with the Cipher will never be dismantled!

1 ReplyThe cipher was a nice surprise; there really didn't need to be any reward imo, but it was nice nonetheless. I just wish Bungie would remove the account limit on the cipher so we can at have at least one in our vault and one in our inventory rather than having to spend/delete the first one to obtain the second.

Tribute was fine. The reward should have been an exotic emblem. The 1st in the game.

I liked the little info piece from talking to bray but I already have a cipher didn’t know you can only hold 1 so waiting for cue to hopefully get a decent piece

2 RepliesHmm I might just sign back on for this..after some reading about helsom it’s definitely a cool tribute on short notice..I don’t want to sound ungrateful but does the cipher carry over to the next season if it’s in my inventory. Rafool has nothing I want.
