What's the point in not being able to continue using the stuff we earned? At least with a D3, we could keep all of our god rolls and still be able to use them in D2. I'd rather grind a new game than lose the time and effort I spent into getting my curated rolls and pinnacle gear in this one.

10 RepliesEdited by Remi: 7/30/2020 6:16:41 PMI find it odd we see these complaints in Destiny 2 but in every other MMO/RPG people would be furious if they had to use the same weapons from a previous expansion in a new expansion. WoW and other MMO's use some sort of ILVL system as well making gear from previous expansions useless aside from transmog. The only issue is if we have to grind for the same exact weapons again. Umbral Engrams dropping weapons we've already used is a little messed up but I'm pretty sure the new expansion will bring all new weapons we want to use. Using the same weapons these past couple years is getting old. These complaints are mostly from people who hardly play as well. It feels like attention seeking. **I would have preferred a D3 release.

2 RepliesSunset my gear, sunset my business.

8 Repliesyou didnt play d1 before taken king did you? WE LOST EVERY EXOTIC WE OWNED. WE LOST ALL OUR ARMOUR AND WEAPONS.

10 Replies70% of all god rolls are used for crucible. You can still use everything in quick play or anything that isn’t light level enabled. The community has already spoke about how much they hated starting all over again. Bungie has already stated that D3 isn’t even a thought at this moment. If we had to start all over again instead of adding onto what we already have would be a terrible move on Bungies part. The fact they are bringing the best parts of D1 to D2 is a breath of fresh air since we all can agree from TTK and forward was miles better than D2 at any point. Little known fact D1 had sunsetting as well. So this isn’t anything new, just gotta regrind for whatever comes next and move on. They aren’t going to suddenly change their minds on sunsetting just cause little Timmy has to put his 100k kill spare rations down.
-
1 ReplyAt least with a d3 an entirely new game it makes sense for our gear to be "sunsetted" this is just an excuse to reuse old stuff to sell back to us with little to no effort.
-
The reason for them not to make a D3 and this is purely my opinion and speculation is that people will want certain things like dedicated servers and a proper anti-cheat in place and addressed. They'll also most likely want a D1 experience over a D2 experience as D1 was harder and more rewarding then D2 has ever been, currently is, and will always be. They are too lazy and don't want to spend a lot of money on a D3 so they said " you know what screw D3 " we will just take all your shit away at some point, and then at some point later down the line resell it to you under the guise of " new content " Lmao . what a joke.

13 RepliesWhy can’t people just suck it up, happened in d1 so get used to it :-/

6 RepliesSunsetting is good for the game. I found a loadout I like literally not even a week after they announced it.
-
6 RepliesEdited by name: 7/30/2020 2:20:16 PMof course , with D3 you would at least get a new game along with getting your progress wiped , with sunsetting you get only your progress wiped and got to keep playing the same bad game

35 RepliesSunsetting makes the loot chase useless.

2 RepliesBut y'all cried not to have a D3 you got what y'all asked for and your still crying
-
Destiny 3 is a good thing

1 ReplyAgreed. At least with a D3 they would have the chance to not use a crap tier game engine and fix all the other crap that's wrong with the game. Sunsetting doesn't fix much of anything other than weapon bloat. Bungie sucks. End of story.
-
1 ReplyThe whole point of d2 is to grind for NEW weapons. If destiny doesnt add new content and change the meta then people shout at them for that. Just get over it
-
Just make it so the Crucible and Gambit Pinnacle Guns get a quest to turn em into exotics that way they don't go away. Imagine people turning a mountaintop into an exotic and giving it an intrinsic new OP perk.
-
3 RepliesPersonally I wish they'd just take all gear that will sunset and blow it up make me start fresh cant wait for sunsetting tbh

3 RepliesEdited by Yosemite Sam: 7/30/2020 4:59:34 PM
Sunsetting is worse than a D3.
The WoW guy says hold my beer.

2 RepliesFrom what I have read you can still use it for majority of the games content just not 'pinnacle' content such as raids, iron banner, trials and I'm guessing other end game content such as dungeons. Makes sense to grind for new end game gear otherwise we will just see the same old builds time and time again. At least exotics can be carried forward to keep some nostalgia and I'm hoping regarding some armor at least they can be equipped as skins/ornaments.
-
3 RepliesThe plain and simple reason why weapon and armour caps are in place & gear is being made obsolete (they will eventually hit exotics too) Is so they can reuse assets & locations & altar the power cap values of the sunset armour/weapons to add back to the hamster wheel in a later ‘expansion’ (paid for DLC of course) because Bungie (D2 version) is devoid of ideas, creativity & ultimately, respect for the playerbase
-
1 ReplyWhat makes you think you’d get to keep your gear from D2 and use it if there was a D3? That never happened when D2 came out. All D1 gear stayed in D1 and only comes to D2 as copy-paste lazy development.
-
16 RepliesI miss activion.....activion gave us ttk and forskaen ....bungie gives us broken promises

8 RepliesEdited by mike99fxstb: 7/31/2020 1:19:39 PMWell what’s the point in continuing the -blam!- and crying about sunsetting accept it it’s happening stop -blam!- and crying about it or go play something else.......damn so much crying and -blam!- about sunsetting.
-
3 RepliesWhat upsets me most is that there are more than enough posts regarding the dislike of sunset gear/weapons and bungie refuses to acknowledge it or say anything other then it is going to happen. Their silence shows their arrogance and all of those who are not going to purchase the next installment of the game due to pointless grind (i am one of those) well that's a sacrifice bungie is willing to take!!
-
Get over it for -blam!-s sake
-
9 RepliesNo, it really isn't. Sunsetting is a natural, healthy design tactic which promotes creativity, balance, challenge, fun and incentive to play. Its used to great effect in many successful games.

I’d hate to jump in beyond light, not enjoy the new weapons and miss my old guns. I’m fine with using the same weapons. But honestly with the changes, if In any way If there’s something I don’t like in beyond light, I’m dropping the game with everyone else. And so will a good number of people I play with
