Is sunsetting a good idea? Posting a similar poll to r/DTG

If the gear is replaced by very similar things, there will be zero point in sunsetting in the first place. Bungie would claim it as being content when it was the stuff we had a year back.

Armour: No, I still struggle to see why this makes sense as it’s largely cosmetic anyway (more annoying as I’ve fully master worked a set and will have to repeat that yearly now) Guns: I kind of get it, but wish they’d gone a different route, like promoting the better legendaries to exotics, or releasing alternative weapons to compete with the likes of recluse or lunas

Maybe if the new weapons are actually brand new and feel just as good as our favourite ones we have now.It will be really bad if they just update the rest of the year one weapons that never got updated with random rolls like Origin story,Scathlocke and Curtain call for example.Don't think armour needs to be sun setted it makes no sense to me when we can apply the mods that we want to now and eventually all armour will be available as ornaments anyway.

I'm kinda torn on this subject. In one way, it could be good if done correctly, but it could also be a disappointing mess if loot is not replaced with things just as powerful If we keep things like pinnacles, there will be nothing competing with them, so they will always be the go-to and the most powerful. If we make the old powerful gear irrelevant and only have water pistols, there's no loot to chase and no point in grinding for new weapons. I really see no need to replace armor, seems like some petty way to insult your playerbase for dedicating their time grinding god rolls

I want it to be rare and not rained down on us like candy like it is now. I used to love chasing fate bringer and black hammer etc in D1. Will this reset day be the day? Now it's just "there's a new gun, go get it by killing 50 million thrall". Zzzzzz

To me, highly depends on what the next seasons bring. Speaking from a general angle. I'm talking about all of the content and how well it is received when things come out. I'm not sure exactly what they're doing to the vendors, but I'm still waiting for a good vendor refresh with new/updated loot. That's what I currently think the sunset needs alongside it if they're going to do this.

1 ReplyNo because exotics are not been sunset. No everything should be wiped out in the season of collapse and have D2 morph into D3 where everything is fixed and works correctly.

1 ReplyThe whole reason they are sunsetting is because of pinnacles. If pinnacles are this much of a problem, nerf them, or even sunset them alone. Better yet after sunsetting, they could have rereleased them as exotic versions. I just don't think it is fair to sunset all pieces of gear when only pinnacles are the problem.
