Normal gambit is fine . Prime is painful sometimes.

10 RepliesIt's the invasions for me. I was in a match of 3v4. The guy invading my team had a flawless Trials emblem on with 4,592 trials final blows. It was a 3 stack of guys plus a blueberry, they all had Trials emblems on The opposition had their primeval and we had 0 motes. The flawless guy effortlessly took out our whole team of 3 every time and he invaded 6 times in a row what seemed like seconds after he was pulled back you would here "INVADER ON THE FIELD!" Like seriously? Again We had 7 motes deposited when they won and that guy was invading us while their primeval was dying. The insult to injury mechanics piss me off! No way to come back from that but by all means, keep letting them invade over and over again. We never got a 4th the whole time. F'ing ridiculous

Edited by Ion, Disciple of Melvin: 5/14/2020 3:30:03 PMIt’s fun to play with competent players (4stack), but: My teammates are AFK, invader camper, 15 notes or nothing Or A 4 stack that destroys us when solo
aka 1v1v1v1 VS 4
I’ve gotten every gambit weapon, including the ritual/pinnacle weapons, for the dredged title and all. Hate gambit. But why? Because of how hard it is to carry in gambit along with how often people throw after losing a round or just a large amount of notes. You can carry them but it doesn’t feel rewarding. It feels like I just tried my ass off to win a pve game mode. Which doesn’t feel great.

2 RepliesPeople dont like being one shot by xeno with 15 motes 😀

Overly sweaty and one bad teammate that doesn’t know how to bank or kill an invader can swing the entire game in the direction of the other team
-
Gambit is the best playlist in the game. It’s relaxed enough to enjoy but can get very competitive at times. Unlike PVP which is absolutely toxic.
-
How can you say everyone? Have you literally asked every single player? Nope.... Thought not!
-
i actually like gambit , its easy to play gambit prime. I have got my hush and delirium. i prefer it to crucible.
-
The invasion system. If that wasn't in there and it was just two teams competing against each other, disrupting each other with blockers, then it would be perfect. Invasion bring all the toxic parts of PvP into the mix.

Rewards solo play over coordinating with a team by giving the solos easy mode ads. You dont wanna lose to teams, get a team, but its pretty bunk playing with friends and starting each match with like 2859693 shriekers. Before they tweaked it to cater to crybabies gambit was sick.

For me, what I absolutely hate is the mote swoopers. You know the type. You go toe to toe with a high value target or one of the more difficult enemies, and once they die in a shower of motes, some asshat on your team who was hanging back but is buffed to move faster than your character comes rushing in and collects all the motes. I know it shouldn't matter because it's a team effort and it shouldn't matter who deposits the motes, but it still pisses me off. The other pet peeve is when your team is getting stomped (like having only 10 or so motes collected while the other team has already has chewed through most of their Primeval) and someone still invades your side. Enough already. You've won. Show some sportsmanship.

Edited by Sarcastreaux: 5/12/2020 1:32:02 AMPersonally, i like gambit. I hate the complete idiots that are in gambit! You have 13 motes, and some doofus comes in and runs you over to get the 2 motes you needed when they had 6 motes, then you get invaded. I don't mind the invasions or the weapons folks while invading. The blueberries ruin the entire gambit match and 9/10, that's why my team gets stomped.

Teammates

1 ReplyBecause teammates are horrible and don’t know how the game mode works.

I like gambit prime. I just have some disagreements on what the invader should be able to do. (Wall hack vision is bullshit) But my friends are tired of gambit so my good team isn’t available. Playing with randoms sucks ass.
-
I actually really like gambit. Both regular and prime. Hell, I like reckoning. Way more fun than failing seraph towers for 6 hours.

I usually have fun in Gambit. Then again I usually go in with the mindset of "Shenanigans" and don't take it too seriously. I've invaded just to dance with the people over there. Killing the invader and giving them the high score emote is usually a good one. Especially if they were trying really hard. If I know my teammates are brain challenged, I sit at the bank with a scout and pick the mobs off. Then swap to my retold tale for the blockers. That way I don't have to worry about motes or anything. On a side note, Playing Sugaan Essena from Jedi Fallen Order while running gambit is strangely fitting.

2 RepliesEdited by Smough: 5/10/2020 5:54:47 PM1: The enemies are too strong. I can’t be the only one who noticed that the enemies in gambit will melt you faster than a raid boss. It’s not very fun fighting enemies who will consistently melt you and have you looking at a respawn timer. That or you can sit far away and snipe them off, which also isn’t very fun. 2: It’s too easy to steamroll your opponent. I’ve had too many games where one team already have their primeval summoned before the other even got to their first invasion. I have had too many games where one team would melt the primeval before the other even finished their first damage phase. I’ve had too many games where before one team even finished their first wave the other team already sent 3 medium or large blockers. I’ve experienced these things from both sides and I can tell you it’s not a fun experience either way. 3: Invaders. Now unlike some I’m not against the idea of invaders or want them to invade a lot less, but invaders can be far too powerful in their current state, and that’s primarily because of the weapons they can use and how bungie doesn’t seem to care. It of course doesn’t help that the invader knows where everybody is the second they invade. Truth rockets coming out of nowhere and wiping your team isn’t fun. Getting killed by a couple of shots from an lmg across the map isn’t fun. Eating a 1k or trying to move out of the way but still exploding isn’t fun. Trying to kill an invader only to remember that they have increased damage, health, and an overshield isn’t fun. Again I’m not against the idea of invading but invaders can be too powerful in their current state, especially with heavy weapons, and this alone can ruin the experience of a gambit match. 4: The loot. This is really an issue with destiny as a whole right now, but I just don’t have any incentive to actually play gambit. Most of the loot is from last year and there’s nothing unique or interesting about it that makes me want to farm for it. Especially since it’s possible to complete a gambit game and only get a few blues out of it even if you win. Again this is a problem with destiny as a whole but gambit is frustrating enough without getting a couple blues for winning the game.

1 ReplyToo many invasions

Have you played it lately, especially during the Titan Games. Eva says "Lets celebrate" what it means is Grind for 10,000 laurels.
-
Who is "everyone"? If you relate to the bungie.net forum it's not everyone. It's like 3-5% of the playerbase.
-
It all comes down to the way gambit was intended in theory vs reality

I burned myself out on gambit a couple of seasons ago finishing up dredgen. The game mode itself is fine but the way people play it is annoying and cheesy sometimes. Invasions happen way too often and the invaders have way too much of an advantage (especially with the set bonuses from gambit prime/reckoning armor set) so there’s no real downside to invading. I’ve played several games where it says “invader on the field” and we kill the guy immediately and within like 3-5 seconds it says “invader on the field” again... there should be more risk/reward for invading. It’s leaned to heavily for reward right now.

It sucks

I have no desire to enter the playlist, but when I do it's kinda fun. Other than invasions being spamable they're annoying.
