Phasing out weapons and requiring certain weapons for certain champions is just not fun. I just think it’s hilarious how, in the Shadowkeep ViDoc, Bungie touted that the game would be going in a way where us players have more choice and optimization. This whole year 3 has been nothing but choice and optimization. The irony and blatant lack of freewill is such a joke at this point. You introduce armor mods. Guess what? Only certain mods can be equipped on a certain element. But at least you can lose all your resources changing the element! You introduce champions, yet limit the mods to certain weapon types each season. You’re telling [i]US[/i] how to play. You add some exotics with these abilities already on them, but leave the absolute majority in the dust. Exotics should be allowed to equip mods already. This is unacceptable. You introduce universal ornaments, which is fantastic! Unfortunately that means that all your old armor sets aren’t ornaments. Your crucible and faction ornaments can only be applied on those specific armor types. Why are you limiting our customization? It’s clearly an important part to players, and yet it doesn’t matter. You introduce seasons that remove content, making everything you worked towards in the prior season completely useless. And finally, you will start phasing out the guns we worked hard for. The guns we have loved since we picked up. The guns we have chased god rolls for. Destiny 2, Year 3. The year of playing the way you are told.

I can't really disagree. Trying to get hand cannon kills in this meta can be painful.

It would be a lot less annoying if exotics and supers at least had anti champion properties. Or if they would put more mods for special weapons.

I don’t think they can think of anything else for us to do and they don’t care enough about the story so they just keep dictating out loadouts in activities we’ve already done a million times. They also seem SO worried about gear being too powerful/content being “too easy” that they have rendered SO much gear to be extremely situational or just plain useless. Our characters are effectively stuck in a nerf cycle and power fantasy is not a thing anymore. I really do think this GM Nightfall thing is going to fail so hard. So few players are actually going to try it and even less will actually complete it. It’ll likely see the same fate of the Trials “comeback.” It’ll be just another thing that a small percentage of players actually do regularly that the rest of us will be sitting here wondering why they made it to begin with. Sound familiar? Apparently nothing is worth doing/getting unless it’s some arduous challenge that feels like work/chores. 🙄

3 RepliesExit Strategy w/ Overload Rounds + Recluse w/ Anti-Barrier Rounds + Leviathan's Breath (Unstoppable Effect) + Peacekeepers (titan SMG booster) = Champion Nullifier :P That's just what I use when dealing with champions. There is a surpising amount of variety to be had. But I agree they need to allow champion mods on everything, not just certain weapons.

Next directors cut: we have noticed that players are using guns to complete encounters efficiently. To promote gameplay diversity we are removing guns from the game. To make up for this we will be buffing ability recharge rates by 1% and super regeneration by 0.5%.

Whatever they’re trying to accomplish is no different from how it was. There’s always gonna be certain weapons to use. Limit infusion power of legendaries and seasonal champion mods, just to be annoying because “too much power is bad”. Well, making the weak the weakest isn’t doing any good either

3 RepliesI honestly believe the choice of champion weapons this season was based on grandmaster NF. The previous season mods always had at least one mid to long range option. This season in able to tune grandmaster so players dont walk though it they needed to require the player to close the gap and confront champions in combat range. This is very easily done if Bungie ensures the mod choices are exclusively short range guns especially apparent for anti barrier this season. In the end though all these ended up doing was forcing the veterans to use eriana's vow. Lesson of this story grand master will be tuned to be difficult for new player because they are forced into combat while the older players just get to sit out side their range as we have done every season with erianas.
