Bungie,
Trials needs to keep the casual player engaged so the population in the playlist stays at a healthy level over the long haul.
I'm on board with reserving the best rewards for the teams that win, but I think locking all rewards behind a 3 win ticket will discourage the casual teams from playing each week. Teams that choose to play, knowing they'll probably get pub stomped, should still be able to turn in tokens for some kind of reward. What that "participation" reward is, I don't know, but it should be something.
The elite teams don't want every Trials game to be sweaty, but it will turn into that if there's no incentive for casual teams to play.
-
You sound like someone looking for bad players to pub stomp. Trials isn't a casual game mode so the casual players shouldn't be in the playlist.
-
6 RepliesNo. In my time when you lost you lost. There was no "Participation Trophy/Reward" No if you're team lost, you bare that lost, learn you're mistake, try again. F$#@ the " I didn't hit 3 wins, so give me something" It's like doing a school contest in a team of 3 and another Team of 3. Team 1 get an Wins but ahole team 2 got a Participantion Reward. F$#@ no. YOU LOSE, YOU LOSE. GET BETTER!!!!!!!!! TRY AGAIN. So sick of "😭😭😭 I want something even though I couldn't get 3 wins😭😭😭😭" Grow Up.

3 RepliesEdited by lCertifiedl: 3/28/2020 11:04:37 AMTrails isn't designed for the casual player. It's never was and never will be, in a loot game you need aspiring content to get too, making everything just easy means there is no draw which ultimately is what D2 is now....dull as -blam!- (shit loot don't help either)
-
It wouldn’t be so bad if the tokens didn’t disappear, at the very least they should let you keep them
-
1 ReplyTrials isn't for casuals, not remotely. It's for neck bearded sweats who think game stats mean something in the real world
-
1 ReplyReading all these comments I think Luke Smith should change trials so that only ppl with KD of 3+ can join. Everyone wins; hellishly sweaty matches, including only top .005% of PvP players and no casual (under 3KD trash) can join, so top players wouldn’t need to see all the complaints. As a Bonus, getting flawless would give Gjallarhorn pre-nerf as a reward!!!!
-
2 RepliesWait what? Any casual player with half a brain realizes that Trials is for Destiny no-lifers and git-gooders and stay far far away.
-
No it does not, pve does not keep us engaged and we don't care.
-
Let's be honest not many people want to play that mode so it makes no difference.
-
It’s meant for streaming and advertising.
-
It really doesn't. The sooner casuals leave the sooner we get to watch the snake eat its own tail and see who Ddoses who first.
-
3 RepliesNo, no, no! This is what the PvP players wanted. Let them lie in the bed they made and laugh at them in the future when they make posts about Trials matchmaking taking forever and the connections being so bad. We've been through this in D1 already. Low population was why Bungie introduced Trials bounties into D1 in the first place. Let them have what they want.
-
1 ReplyD2 Trials will just end up like D1 Trials. The better players will drive away the average and casual players while telling them "TrIaLs Is FoR tHe BeSt!" Those players will then wonder why the matchmaking takes forever, connections are so bad, and every match feels like game 7. You need a healthy population for matchmaking to function properly.
-
1) I think any PVP activities are only fun when there is a healthy number of players. 2) When D2 originally launched I thought they were going to do something to allow the best players to show off the best for the day or the week on a leader board.
-
2 RepliesSo can pvp players get all rewards from doing the first encounter in a raid then?
-
2 RepliesTrials isn’t for casuals Never ever has been since house of wolves and I hope it never is Granted trials now is a hollow shell of its d1 form
-
2 RepliesActually the opposite. There needs to be something done for the sweats and good players. Currently trials loot and rewarss are bare bones. No Adept weapons, no extra armor, no cool emblems for continuing past 7 wins (Scarab emblems). So what do the good players do at this point? Farm tokens. How do they do it? Farming the first win and they ruin the experience for the casuals. TLDR, more rewards and incentive those who are worthy to make the general experience for all better.
-
Token farming is killing the casual friendly part. All the top tiers are just resetting cards after every win.
-
Yes please! I play mostly solo and I play a lot. I can get to fabled in freelance, and I do well enough in Iron Banner, but I only played Trials for about one hour total and got destroyed. It was really embarrassing. I might chill and play it more if I knew I could get something interesting from it.

11 RepliesNo. Trials is the ENDGAME PvP event. You either are skilled enough to compete or you aren't. End of the line. Because Bungie is gonna dumb down the event even more and make it boring. Did you know it used to be 9-0? Now it's 7-0 to go flawless.
-
2 RepliesEdited by BoogaSuga: 3/26/2020 12:17:20 PMYou are right, for the most part ... Yes, there is a disconnect for casuals in trials. Yes, no casuals in the playlist equals sweat games every game. No, 3-7 wins isn't that difficult. No, participation rewards shouldn't be considered. Instead, Bungie could increase tokens granted per win and per bounty. Doing this would help negate the 3 win reset farm that's going on. Bungie could introduce adept weapons. Even if there isn't an exclusive perk. For example, let's say this week's adept is astral horizon ( the shotgun ) . Bungie could offer it in a different color scheme, and with 2 pre set rolls to choose from. This guarantees a good drop, and minimizes the necessity to 3 win reset token farm. Bungie could add a vendor in the lighthouse that allows for tokens and materials to be spent to reroll trials weapons. Have an eye of Sol with a good scope, mag, and masterwork but you have field prep and opening shot? Spend tokens and prisms / ascendant shards to reroll for snapshot. This is basically the same as the glass needle exotic rerolls in D1. It would encourage going flawless to farm the materials and tokens, to then go to the vendor to re roll the weapon of your choice. Oh, also Bungie should allow tokens to stay in your inventory after reset. Who cares if you spend them rolling for a good weapon? You earned them. In all honesty, if you could save up tokens, it might even make it a little more bearable for the casual teams. I could just go flawless and take the rest of the weekend off. I spent 3 days, 8+ hours a day this past weekend farming for a shotgun. I did full cards, I didn't do the win reset.... But still. 3 days and I didn't get a good shottie. Now next week will be the snipe and I most likely won't get a good one. Saving tokens would be awesome.

3 RepliesIt's a pinnacle endgame pvp activity it's not meant for casuals. You sound like a fool
-
1 ReplySo the YouTubers can make 1 v 3 content
-
Im calling out all the you tubers and streamers to address this or no one is gonna watch your vids....cammy cakes.....mtashed.....aztechgaming....ifrostbolt......any one else that seems oblivious to this...
-
Can't agree casual has iron banner and PvP when it comes to trials it's there for more competitive players hence the word trials
-
1 ReplyEdited by GrifterDeMier01: 3/26/2020 12:32:51 AMNah just remove trials from the game again. And regular gambit. And reckoning.
