Try capturing the god damned zones. If you can do it in teams instead of trying to Rambo the whole thing, even better!

Capping 2 flags only is the right thing to do, but I dont think it matters in IB. IB will spawn the losing team to favorable control points or all the sudden my team cant cap flags. AND while I was sitting invisible at the waterfall waiting on heavy, I witnessed ONE guy cap a flag like 3 people were standing on it. IB catch up mechanics is BS.

If your the guy who keeps running to b alone, you're the reason you lose in control.

1 ReplyNope. I’ll play how I like. And I bet my teammates won’t be upset after I drop 30 - 40 defeats doing so.

1 ReplyBoy, are you lucky Rambo John J isn’t on the forum today. . . .

It's called CONTROL. You only need to CONTROL 2 zones. Let the opposing team come to you. When idiots run to the 3rd zone and flip the spawn, it sends my ADHD into overtime! (Joking, btw).

Don't fall for it! He's just telling you to cap the zones so he knows where you are!
-
Yeah this game sucks
-
4 RepliesAlso Tip for control players. DONT Cap all zones. Try to control 2 zones. Ive lost so many games thanks to weirdos who try to cap all 3 and just cause spawn flips.
-
4 RepliesYou do realise that, unless you're in the top 2-3% of pvp players, Bungie have a 50/50 win loss ratio. You can go afk for EVERY match and you'll still win 50% regardless. Orrrrrr, you can go full sweat, swear at your potato team mates and bounce your controller off the wall in rage...and STILL win 50%. Yeah, crazy innit blud.

3 RepliesWin, lose, the 125 LFR kills don't care. Timmy's precious K/D doesn't care. Bungie doesn't care. They guy who gets 2 more kills and had zero captures gets ranked higher than the guy that captured 11 zones at the end of the match. Caring when so many people don't care just leads to frustration. I mean if you're saving the planet from garbage, that's one thing. But getting 2 extra IB tokens, F it. Save your sanity, don't bother if it looks like no one else on your team is and let the other side go hunting and get the match over faster.

Been this way since D1. Some advice get a team man. More fun anyways to play with friends.

Clash with flags - this is why PvP can't have nice things

1 ReplyI unintentionally Rambo. Sometimes Ill go to a zone to capture and the person following me or im following decides to go away from the zone to score some kills. I end up capping by myself a lot in Control. People need to learn to cap or learn to defend the zones we have and not flip spawns. There are way to many people that will tey tor tri-cap and cause the spawns to flip.

1 ReplyNah. Don't wanna play control, want iron banner rewards, so I'm going to pretend that it's not control.

3 RepliesEdited by rZI3: 2/24/2020 12:11:45 AMFun fact, the people your probably moaning about probably don’t know how to access the forums... and it’s probably an ib issues, I mean like who doesn’t know how to control?

1 ReplyWhat exactly is “a zone”???? Your instruction has confused my hive brain...
-
Zones? Are you talking about bungies mechanic heavy pvp mode?
-
You can play objective without capping the zones
-
1 ReplyTop tip for quick play: Don’t take it too seriously.
-
Eh. It’s QP.
-
Play it like clash and it will work itself out. Just kidding Capture and Control the -blam!-ing zones.
-
Yeah, I’ll do that after I’ve done my bounties.

Holding points is also an extremely valuable thing to do, and not something I see often enough. Your K/D may not always be top of the team, unless the enemy team is really aggressive about removing you from a point, but holding points lets you maintain control part of the map. Which is equally as important as gaining control of a part of the map. Especially on a map like The Dead Cliffs where you really don't want to get stuck in the spawn trap. A recent example I can give where holding a point gave a significant advantage to my team is an Iron Banner I played a couple days ago on Distant Shore. Was all by myself on the ledge at point B as the entire enemy team rushed the point. Dropped a Titan bubble to try and hold it for my team. The only one that tried kicking me out was a hunter using the spectral blade super, but I managed to sidestep the poor guy and watched as he careened off the cliff. The rest of the enemy team hesitated after that, which was good because they could have whooped my butt if they'd all rushed me at once. So while they were trying to wait out my bubble my team locked down the other two points and then ambushed them from behind. The panic that ensued even rewarded me with enough of an opening to step out of my bubble and kill two people myself.
