I feel they should actually be super inexpensive to master work, I see many players not really using them in normal play as they don't have the season mod slot, the stats are not always great, they also mess up players builds not being master worked, I see a lot of players that I know and inspect don't use exotics unless its for a specific build. Thanks.

Also: Masterworking exotic armor should bring the total stats up to 100

Bungie: "Uhm... let us think... nah, we like keeping people on the hamster wheel."
-
I don’t even bother. I still use a couple non seasonal armor pieces because I just don’t care. I don’t have time to farm all day every day to get the bleeding edge of equipment. It just isnt worth it to upgrade anything past maybe 8 in a season. I’ll do it if I happen to get a piece I really like and have the materials (I almost never do. All my masterworked stuff is non seasonal)
-
Masterworking was fine before they -blam!-ed with it and gave us the garbage armor 2.0 system.
-
They're basically useless. Weapons and armor. For any incremental advantage the perks give you it's either wiped out or almost negated by stats and mods. Weapons are better, but mw exotic weapons are pointless.

No. -Cosmoooo

Edited by PX1914: 1/30/2020 2:02:13 PMLooking into the cost of Masterworking gear in general needs and quite frankly needed to be looked at some time ago. Between elemental affinities, mod cost, random stat roles, and limited sources for materials; us being able to fully utilize our gear should’ve never been so taxing. Bungo, why put all this work into a system and champion it when the overwhelming majority either can’t or don’t even fully engage in it... never mind, I forgot who I was talking to.
-
3 does seem high. Maybe 2 would be fine.

I just think masterworked items should break back into more materials. 17 to MW a weapon 7 cores returned for breaking it down. 6 cores, 3 prisms and 1 shard to mw armor 5 cores returned for breaking down Basically the system in place now, where armor is replaced and made irrelevant each season, punishes you over time for masterworking ANY gear...good rolls or not, you lose out next season. Not a problem for people who can farm 980s, but for the avg guy, even decent players, which I consider myself, who dont want to tune into LFG every time they log in, it isn't really within reach to continue masterworking new weapons or armor. Weapons, that's mlre acceptable because you can buy cores from spider, I generally spend approximately 500 legendary shards every day here and still gain shards overall. I'm not saying to lower the cost, either, but I think there would be more freedom to explore new seasonal armor and weapons if we got more back out of dismantling masterworks. I generally keep only one set of armor, two or three favorite weapons for each slot, nothing in my vault. I dont care to have every roll ever, I just want the tip of the PVE spear, and when I see a new weapon or set of legs I want to use, I would like the option to do so by dismantling a few other items and instantly mw the new stuff. It takes 3 dismantled weapons to mw 1 new one. It take over 50 armor pieces to masterwork 1 new armor Make the weapons more like 2 to 1 And armor closer to 5 to 1

They can keep the cost but add more sources to farm for them. Like idk....a PvP option....
-
1 ReplyIt's really fun when you spend all those materials on an exotic, then they nerf it.
-
IMO they should be the same price as everything else, they are incredibly difficult to effectively farm for due to multiple layers of RNG, and their their mod slots are inherently hindered. No reason to overprice them.
-
They are very much over priced. Especially since we won’t be using them next season.
-
Either that or increase the stats on exotics. All of mine are dogshit tier.
-
11 RepliesIf you are masterworking an exotic then presumably it has an excellent stat roll. You will have the piece of gear forever. The price reflects that.
-
2 RepliesI barely even use exotics anymore. I really only play on my Hunter lately and the only ones I use are Orpheus Rigs, Raiden Flux, and Liar's Handshake since those are so strong.
-
Everything is overpriced.
-
I wouldn't mind the cost if mods could be slotted into them.
-
Master Working is over priced in general.
-
Of course they can "look into it". That doesn't actually mean anything though.

3 RepliesEdited by Soul_Eater_42: 1/30/2020 6:27:17 AMIs there any reason to actually Masterwork Armor? Seems kinda pointless. A measly +2 stat bonus per armor piece you Masterwork, and Energy capped at 10, even though we have Mods in the game that cost 5 to 7 Energy... Not nearly enough to make up for the absurd cost of Ascendant Shards and Enhancement Prisms.
-
Especially considering they are so difficult to get a good roll on. On my Hunter and Titan I don't even have a decent exotic to build around. They just aren't dropping and every week I buy an engram from xur and keep getting chest pieces. Hunter chest pieces are all terrible unless you like poledancer. All I really want is a decent Foetracer or Knucklehead. I gor super lucky and got a good Ophidian drop on Warlock, but for some reason 10 mobility on Warlock is very sluggish compared to 10 mobility on Hunter this season. Last season in pvp my Warlock mobility was good enough to strafe properly in pvp. This season I'm so clunky I get hit with every shot... meanwhile a strafing Hunter is extremely difficult to hit.

"we understand, your feedback will be passed on to the team" 12 weeks later Masterwork cost adjusted to bring in line with other non-esential items. 1000 silver per exotic armour shortcut kit.
-
Exotics swallowing 3 ascendant shards literally makes me sick in my mouth. I recently masterworked some stompees (not correct spelling I know), literally the only exotic that a) I like, and b) wasn't a completely shite stat roll. Dumping 3 shards in to them was still painful. Especially with no seasonal mod slot. Also, please bring back the ornament for these ASAP!!!!

Edited by Baby-Luigi123: 1/30/2020 11:53:54 AMWhat they could do in my opinion is bring back exotic shards from destiny 1 and have those be used to masterwork exotic armour instead of ascendant shards. Also have xur sell them so we don’t have to rely on rng to get them

1 ReplyWhat’s the point of master working armour when it’s gonna be pointless next season.
