Destiny is the worst it has ever been
With the rocket launcher kills step of the iron banner, and the boring af obelisk chores, I can say this is the worst Destiny has ever been. I might level up my season pass a bit more, but other than that, the entertainment is no longer there to keep me around.
Coming from someone with over 1200 hrs in both D1 and D2, and someone who has supported this game through thick and thin.
Right now it is trash. Sucks, cause it used to be so fun.
Edit: maybe the game overall is not the worst it has ever been, but it just feels super repetitive and boring. It's time for me to play some other games, no big deal. I was venting my frustration.

I'm in no way defending Bungie but it isn't the worst -Osiris DLC gets that title- but it is definitely boring and repetitive to where most people I know have to be high, drunk, having a movie in the background, music, or anything to entirely distract them from this ludicrous grind. Mind you the Sundial weapon rolls you can get and the amount you can farm for is pretty good, otherwise I need Vanoss Gaming in the background to ease my boredom lol.

5 RepliesPlay eso it’s awesome, I’m taking a break from destiny for awhile. Been playing eso having a lot of fun. The game really seems to respect my time spent . Been out for 5 years and there still updating there’s a ton of dlc which you can unlock all of it for 15$. Games pass on Xbox is on sale for a 1$ for 3 months. That’s where I downloaded eso from plus there’s a bunch of cool games to play.

1 ReplyThe game is no longer a game. It's a chore. It is the worst its ever been as far as progressing, feeling like you earned something. It's a bit too annoying and not fun at all doing the obelisks. I actually stopped playing the content for it. This whole season is the worst they ever put out. Hopefully moving forward, they put out more dungeons with a larger loot pool and secrets in those. Dungeons are fun, I can play them over and over and over again and not get tired of them. I think I've played the pit 25+ times now and enjoy being in there every time. Even though, I am not getting any new loot from it. It's just a fun activity to play pve wise. Now if a dungeon door opened up each week and took us on a new path for new loot and story each week. That'd be far greater then doing this obelisk bullshit and playing the EP style wtf it is.

I can't help but agree, I was ferreting through my library and came across the launcher for the D1 Alpha so that's how long I have been invested in the franchise. Stat tracker reports over 2800 hours in D2 and I'm pretty sure I had over 2000 in D1. I used to run my 3 characters through daily and weekly bounties without fail including raids on a regular basis. Since season of the Drifter I have played only 1 character and collected the season relic stuff on the other 2 that are little more than mules for now. I'm retired so it's not like I don't have the time available to get everything done but the fact is, I simply don't find the game enjoyable enough to want to do so.

4 RepliesI had a ton of fun just kinda farting around the moon for a few hours last night looking for Ghosts, hunting for rice cakes, finding rabbits, finding secret minibosses hidden around the map, and finding new Essences. Reminded me of when I used to just muck around the Cosmodrome for hours back in D1. If they fleshed out the other planets and gave them all special things to do and hunt for, the exploration side of things would peak. The game is filled to the brim with different planets with cool locations, but there lies no reason whatsoever to go visit those locations or engage with the world at all. The game, by design, has dried itself up.

1 ReplyEveryone should have expected a light season. Most of us have family and holiday commitments. Historically they let alot of their team take vacation so this time of year is slower. Additionally this was done well before the improvements and feedback from Shadowkeep could be implemented. If the next season is awful I’d be surprised and I would also probably agree with you.

It's... WE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH IT. OK folks? We have PROBLEMS WITH IT. Some of you like it and others hoped for something else, something more... That is about it. Simple. Truth is, most of the people working at bungie didn't really understand what they were doing with this game and instead of letting Joe Staten do what he wanted, they stopped him, because MONEY. Simple as that, it doesn't get more simple. Here we are and it's kind of the same problem. Though I will say, they seem to be trying a bit more but they are not there yet. However, they don't have daddy money bags Activision to pay the bills anymore, so they have to make do. For me, it's just... there are too many things to do and for little to no pay off. I liked it when the game was a bit more simple, not easy but simple. It's like they are over complicating the game for no reason and you get next to nothing in return. As I said, it at least looks like they are trying and I will say, that is something. I have a suggestion, why not take the old ideas Joe had and add them, see how it goes. Who knows, it make actually make the game fun again.

Destiny is in fact boring right now but it isnt terrible. You clearly havent played when curse of osiris dropped where we had like nothing to do.

Wouldn't say the worst, but it definitely falls short of many things Destiny 1 did great. Ie. state of vendors at end of D1 Y3 was 200% better than we still have in D2 Y3. Also, raids in D2 are nowhere near the level of fun and repeat-ability of D1 raids.
