My theory on how season of dawn will lead into the next
So it's been a hot topic lately on how this season of Destiny will lead into the next, and what season 10 will actually be
I've stated my theory multiple times now, each season will continue the story of the 4 original year 1 content drops. Shadowkeep/undying continued the pyramid ship plotline while dawn continues the Saints plotline left in curse of Osiris
We're also very confident that the next season will be about Rasputin, and by the logic stated above will continue what's been left off in that DLC
So let's see what can be continued
We know what happened to Xol, we know what happened to Nokris and his brood (sort of), we know what happened to Ana Bray and we know what happened to Rasputin (also sort of)
But warmind did leave one potential plotline unanswered. The message from who most believe to be the exo stranger! Now I know it may sound crazy but hear me out
Season of dawn sees us manipulating the timeline to save Saint-14. While the Vex are not the main threat of the season they still play a crucial role as they're the only other "living" thing found in the corridors of time, and it's thanks to the infinite forest and tech used in the sundial that the events of this season are even playing out. So basically time travel and Vex are a pretty big part of this season
Now look at the exo stranger. A "character" who despises the Vex, teleports away similar to how the Vex do, has been monitoring us since our revival, and gives off the aura that [b][i][u]TIME[/u][/i][/b] plays a big role for her.
I believe that our manipulation of the timeline will lead to us meeting the exo stranger in s10. Potentially a version of her prior to meeting us on Venus
Yeah it's a stupid theory, but you can't prove me wrong just yet! Just kidding, go ahead

There is a lot of unanswered questions left over from warmind. Like what's nokris up too, as there is evidence he is alive. Xol can come back as seen in the whisper mission. There is also the fact that the mysterious stranger was hinted to be Anna breys sister and that Anna is searching for her. Not too mention the ominous message rapsuten gave us at the end of the story.

3 RepliesI don't know how really, but I really,really hope we get Splicers back. Like, rasputin activates a program that turns failsafe evil, activates nessus's SIVA, attracting remaining splicers as well as other fallen. Mithrax hunts them down and encounters saint in the process. This interaction causes saints perception of the fallen to change blah blah blah. I just really want the loose end of Mithrax and Eramis to be explored more. It's some of D2's most interesting lore, to me at least.

6 RepliesAt he very least, it'll have to do with the Deep Stone Crypt or how Elsie became an Exo under the radar in the first place. I don't think we'll see her return. So it could be both, but I don't see the Stranger returning physically. Maybe there will be some lore books about her though.

While it’s a possibility I feel like our part with the stranger is over. It seems the rest of her story is intertwined with the Queen given Mara’s final quote in her court.

Although with what I've seen lately, I have my doubts on the quality of what they're doing. Can't wait for the "I can't believe you thought Xol was a Worm God" retcon. It's gonna be great.

6 RepliesYa I agree with Ari, maybe something on the Deep Stone Crips, or even Nokris, he is a Necromancer, and if he had a Throne World, he's not dead. But there is now a Possibility of Pre Cayde - 6, returning. Because of C-6 entering the network the vex could of copied his memory, because now they have Blueprints of Exos. So Rasputin could then provide the location to TDSC, where we could revive a None Guardian Cayde-6 with the memories Pre-Forsaken. It's a 50-50 at this point.

I’m not sure where they’ll go with the story but with Saint 14 looking for us to recapture some of the glory from the past, I see him being the catalyst for trials to be reintroduced into the game. I’m not sure how they will link our motivations to do missions/other content but I do feel like Trials with be the main activity for next season with one small replayable PvE area whether it is a small dungeon, raid or a basic horde mode much like Vex Offensive. I feel like the Taken may play a larger role in the game and be the ‘main’ enemy race for that season too.
