Short post here today friends, but it seems that the new web lore confirms that Saint-14 received the Perfect Paradox when he was young.
“Has anyone ever helped you?”
He nodded. “Yes. Oh, yes.”
“Who? The Speaker?”
He thinks for a moment before replying. “No. A Guardian, like me. Saved me from the Fallen when I was young, when I had lost everyone I was meant to protect. That Guardian is why humanity must go to the Traveler.”
Jasleen furrowed her brow. “What do you mean?”
“That Guardian’s Ghost and Light showed me a vision of humanity’s potential. The land beneath the Traveler becomes a place of safety. I—”
And to remember the Perfect Paradox lore tab....
I mourn that I will never reach the heights you have. To me, you represent everything a Guardian can become. Yours is a thriving City. So different from mine. My whole fourteenth life I fought to make my City yours. I never finished.
All I have left is this weapon. The Cryptarchs say you crafted it yourself, built it out of scraps and Light and sheer will, inside the Infinite Forge. I’ll make sure it finds its way back to you. When you gave it to me, I swore I would make it my duty to follow your example.
Very similar language in reference to a mysterious Guardian who is not Osiris and their ghost.
This would explain why we see a Saint-14 without his signature spiky armour claim the Perfect Paradox in the trailer and yet we see a Saint-14 in an almost vendor capacity with them in the webpage for Season of Dawn.
Long story short, I'm feeling a bit better about Saint-14 surviving this season.
Also, go read that weblore. It's quite touching this time around.

Does that mean Saint-14 is doomed? We created the Perfect Paradox, will give it to him, and then he will die again, after sending the shotgun back to us in the same spot?

25 RepliesSo is the shotty in the trailer perfect paradox? Let me rephrase that..... In the brand New trailer, for the New season, was one of the newly advertised weapons old content? Not even a reskin? Bungies reached new levels of laziness lol

Where can i read these shorts lore stories i can not find them on bungie.net

1 ReplyDid we need confirmation? It was pretty clear to me that’s as the case.

4 RepliesSo maybe in his timeline he became the best titan who ever lived by trying to live up to our guardian's example after we rescue him and give him the shotgun? I guess he didn't see us teabagging in the crucible..........

19 RepliesEdited by TBone4x: 12/5/2019 8:58:57 AMIf I just read that right then this means Saint -14 IS a paradox! We give him the gun when he's young and he somehow sees our future and makes it his life's goal to establish the future he saw and be a great guardian like us but he dies in the process. Could it be we saved him before? 🤔

8 RepliesThat lore tab was heart wrenching man, it really drives home the fact that Saint-14 and the young wolf have a kinship like no other
-
That Guardian is our Guardian.
-
most likely the "save a legend" quest or whatever it is might have it where we actually stop saint from dying in the forest, this would explain that one cutscene where he punches a vex walking into the forest
-
9 RepliesYawn.... boring. Who cares about who gave him his little shotgun. Saint 14 is dead and should stay that way. He will show up in a cutscene and then haul ass and disappear like Osiris did.
-
1 ReplyPerhaps Saint-14 gave himself his own weapon from a different timeline. Maybe the reason why he’s the best Titan is because he’s fought across all realities/paths of time. Continually fighting, never stopping. Something like, “Hey kid, I’m you but older. Take this shotgun and head-but the crap out of a Fallen. Make me proud.”

14 RepliesIt confirms nothing of the sort. It suggests that we have encountered Saint across different timelines, but nowhere does it suggest we gave him the gun as a child. We didn’t even forge it ourselves until CoO.

1 ReplyEdited by --KNIGHT--: 12/5/2019 10:40:15 AMSo basically he has already met us, but we havent met him yet. Time travel is weird

5 RepliesWait wait wait... hold up... It's not the player? we "the guardian" didn't give it to him?
-
5 RepliesJamel is that you

3 RepliesEach time he answered in affirmation to accolades presented to him, I can't help but chuckled; "This is the way." The setting was neat. Now we understand why the Grey Pigeon has ribbons.
