There is no excuse for a game like D2 to ever have the amount of downtime it does. Fornite, Apex, CoD to name a few, rarely have these types of issues. With the amount of $ Bungie has made, re-invest a fraction into ACTUALLY ensuring that servers are always accessible. Fix YOUR stuff!!! This is UNACCEPTABLE - you're right down the street from MICROSOFT!

5 RepliesDo you work at a game studio? Have you ever released a game of this size? If not, stop acting like you know what you are talking about. If a problem happens with the servers, it takes time to fix. I'm sure you won't have withdrawals because you can't play for one day.

97 RepliesSorry. Bungie are too busy making gay pride emblems and monetizing cosmetics to improve their game.
-
Particularly, Destiny 2's PVP works SO BADLY that Bungie should be a case study in every tech college about how not to do things. It's embarrassing.
-
Hmmm 🤔 popular post bungie.... the players have spoken

Edited by michael: 11/24/2019 4:08:16 PMThe fact that this game is 10 tick, 30 fps, peer to peer on a 2010 engine is utterly stunning. Moving to pc at least helps with framerate but you are still dealing with 10 tick and awful connection.

10 RepliesOr make the game run offline so it might hit 60fps. Forced online has no place in this game. It serves no practical function beyond hampering resources so Bungie can micromanage the way you play.

1 ReplyAfter three years of crappy pvp in D1 I told myself that I would not buy D2 unless Bungie invested in dedicated servers. I caved, of course, and as punishment I got three more years of crappy pvp where it feels like half the matches I play are decided by lag, not skill. I don't know what Bungie's plans are exactly with D2 and D3, but I will not be buying D3 without dedicated servers. Whether I continue to invest in D2 or not is to be decided by other variables, but the more Bungie tries to force me into the crucible (or Gambit) with pvp requirements for exotic quests, seasonal titles, holiday/special events, and such the more adamant I become in this resolution. I will not buy D3 without dedicated servers. These p2p servers need to die, and despite what Bungie thinks/wants this game will never be an e-sport as long as it continues to use the shoddy p2p setup it uses.

1 ReplyServers aren’t even an issue. Occasional outages happen for all games, not just Destiny. I can name quite a few games that need dedicated servers, Destiny isn’t one of them anymore.
-
YES, good god that needs to happen.

1 ReplyOr scrap PvP

Not surprised not seeing "bungie replied" on this. Guess they're getting the feather and leaf ornaments and eating mashed potatoes emote ready for eververse
-
not this old chestnut, we've been asking this for 5 years
-
Let me 1-Up your idea: get dedicated developer leads.

6 RepliesThey'd rather invest in... cookbooks. My god, Bungie as a stand alone studio really has devolved to shit.

2 RepliesSomething tells me you have no clue what you're talking about..

7 RepliesSome of you sound like spoilt brats. I am a tech have been playing destiny since its inception. IMHO destiny still has the best movement mechanic off any FPS I have played. Dealing with connections which multiple latencies and allowing the player to have a great experience is pretty difficult. I live in a house full of techs actually and we commend bungie for giving us this game. Problems will occur yes, in all tech but to solve serious problems in 12hrs is admirable. I suspect the connection to google may have been part of the problem. Chrome broke a heap of production macs recently due to their bad code. Only bad call was including stadia in my mind. Just saying

11 RepliesPretty sure they do have dedicated servers. If you want to experience peer to peer networks, go play warframe. Destiny is miles and miles better than that.

We are asking for dedicated servers from D1 and Bungie is ignoring every thread about it.
-
Do you work there, how do you know what they do or dont have shit happens grow up

Once again the snowflakes at bungo snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I had a gremlin that ran better than this crap.

1 Replyhttps://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/45919/7_This-Week-At-Bungie--05252017 And this is why destiny 2 stays in a constant state of WTF especially in crucible, because everything in that TWA.T about dedicateds hasnt worked since day 1 🤷♂️

1 Reply“Memory issues deep within ours servers” We all know what that means...!
