Title
Edit: Lots of good ideas in the comments! Having mobility affect class ability speed would be a wonderful addition to the game
Edit 2: Glad to see everyone keeping the conversation civil and relevant! ^^

Doesn’t it make you jump higher, or is that only D1

10 RepliesMobility in this game gives far too much of an advantage as it is already. It basically makes resilience and recovery stats pointless.
-
Edited by Smough: 11/7/2019 2:26:02 AMIf crucible didn’t exist absolutely, since I can already imagine all the 100 mobility titans ruining the game. But crucible is already ruined, so sure why not make mobility affect sprint speed.
-
All Classes should have a Neutral Base Mobility stat. then as you increase it with Mods & Pinnacle gear your Sprint Speed should increase as well
-
Edited by Dark Brandon X: 11/7/2019 4:41:44 AMMy mobility is 95 with my pvp build, (maybe faster with mida or recluse equipped). I sprint fast as shit!
-
I think it needs to but probably at a lower value than the what it does for base move speed. I could also see this working on guardian handling (melee attack rate, direction change snappyness, finisher animation speed, animation speed on other things). Basically speed and dexterity boost.
-
11 RepliesYou'd risk breaking the game by letting people run faster than the game can load the next section. That' can crash games....and was a big problem for Anthem during its development.
-
4 RepliesRemember when Josh Hamrick said they couldn't increase sprint speed because the game wouldn't load areas properly? 1 word: Sparrows.
-
It should
-
11 RepliesThis was a topic of convo several years ago and it was determined it would negatively effect load times in the play space mostly for console users without SSD’s. Basically you get to the load zones too quickly resulting in game errors and increased load times.
-
Mobility should affect class animation speed. Titan's/warlock has faster animation and hunters has longer distence.
-
2 RepliesI thoughts that what it did. What does it actually do?
-
2 Repliesthe upper three stats should do something significant.. mobility should affect your overall speed everywhere. resilience should be top 100% more damage resistance and not 10% and recovery should have the time before your regen sets in halved at max..if not put down to a quarter.
-
They should really just increase all movement speed, ESPECIALLY non-sprinting speed, without it being an armor stat.
-
4 RepliesIt definitely does. If you look it says movement speed. That means anytime of movement. You can tell when you have 0vs10 you can tell when somebody does. They move too fast to hit.
-
12 RepliesHonestly I disagree, do you want some 100 mobility hunter running at the speed of light to rush you in spawn 7sec into the round of comp? I don't. I genuinely fear how fast we would go l
-
2 RepliesThen smelly hunters would be running around the place like the Flash.
-
2 RepliesThanks for the feedback! We’ll write it down on a piece of paper and pass it along to Luke Smith so his fat ass can fart on it!
-
1 ReplyHunters.. hunters everywhere..
-
4 RepliesI just wanted to mention that I believe, and it might have been said by Bungie but I"m not sure, that the primary reason why it doesn't, is that it would affect loading walls. As if we are all suddenly sprinting faster the game would suddenly have to start loading things a lot faster in the background. You can see another example of this in the Spider-Man game that released on Playstation. When the developers were showing it off on PS5 they specifically mention that they could, in theory, let Spider-Man travel a lot faster on the new hardware because it could keep up with that new speed. However, the guy who said it should affect how quickly class abilities trigger is absolutely brilliant because Warlock class ability deployment is deplorable in crucible.

Edited by blade329: 11/5/2019 11:24:17 PMIt's always been bizarre to me that a Hunter can't seem to sprint faster than the snail like Warlock. Oh, well.
-
Legit... I though it did. That's just stupid that it doesn't. Honestly there is absolutely no reason that it shouldn't, that'd be like saying that strength effects melee abilities but does count towards the hunter's solar throwing knife or void smoke grenade because even though its not in that slot it's not a melee. (So help me traveler, if that's actually true....😑🙄😤!!!)
-
Yeah coming back to D2 after almost 2 years, I'm suprised this still isn't a feature
-
Edited by Lord_Shar: 11/5/2019 9:55:43 PMTitan Skating > Warlock Teleport > Mobility.
-
I would like that if it were the case, but it would be bad for the game balance.
-
4 RepliesAs hunter main living at ten speed(not really tho) I disagree entirely. Strafe speed is insane at 10 as well as base jump height. It's the lack of understanding from the community that makes mobility seem pointless. If they're were to tie sprint speed to mobility it would need to have drastic diminishing returns per point invested. I use a shotgun all the time and I can only imagine would it would be like to be the Flash in destiny. Weapons like Last Word would benefit a bit to much from this as well.
