I tried hopping on his account to see if I could help (I really can’t do much to help since he doesn’t have all that many decent weapons) but this is just ridiculous. He shouldn’t be playing against people like this. Literally mythics and legends all the time.
He’s at Heroic 1 in case you were wondering. There’s nothing competitive about this playlist. It’s just a slaughter house at this point.
At first I thought he was having a hard time because he hasn’t played D2 in a long while but now it’s clear that Bungie crappy matchmaking is screwing him over on a regular goddamn basis.
Edit: I got him pretty close now, I had two games where the ranks matched up decently. The rest were matches where the enemy were bare minimum mythic 1.
He’s a pretty good player overall and could probably make it to fabled on his own if he was playing people at his rank (given he takes sometime to get used to the game again). Unfortunately I have to play for him due to the current match ups
Edit: so what I’m hearing is that matchmaking isn’t ranked based but rather it’s based on “true skill”. Fair enough, I suppose that makes some sense. I’m hoping Bungie can iron out the kinks in this new matchmaking thing to have more balanced out matches. Anyway thanks 😁

6 RepliesYeah there’s a major issue with this right now. I’m at brave II and played two game last night where every single opponent was fable or higher. There is no reason people at brave should be going against sweaty players who are at fable.

I'm getting positive KD maybe 7 to 9 kills, next round I'm facing 30 kill players from the matrix.

Same trash is happening to me and my buddy. Most the other players already have reset their glory ranking for the season. Some games we don’t even get a k/d ratio higher than .35. In crucible my k/d average is 1.5, so whatever they changed is utter bullshit

Edited by SpacemanSpff434: 10/26/2019 6:32:24 PMIf you are playing with him and are significantly better the sbmm will have a blend of players in your matches. The skill level will be between the two of you, and it’s gonna be a rough ride for the lesser skilled player. From my experience with my much better friend.

What doesnt make sense to me is that once I hit mythic it actually felt like it got easier. Getting up to mythic wasn't exactly hard, but I just went against so many not forgotten in my first matches and a lot in between. When I got to mythic I found people using blue weapons and bows and shit. I have no idea what's going on.

4 RepliesRank don’t matter, it’s your skill in how you play, Git Gud

4 RepliesThey made some changes to matchmaking in comp yesterday 10/24 and it is now unplayable for me. I’m a decent crucible player getting to 2100 with ease and thought I’d give nf a shot with freelance. All was going fairly well until yesterday’s matchmaking change. I now exclusively get 3+ unbroken players in my matchmaking consistently and I am getting completely stomped. Was 200 points away from legend and now 1000 points away.

2 RepliesGit good

1 ReplyThe ranks don’t matter anymore for matching as much as Bungie’s “true skill” ranking that no one but Bungie can see. We need to know our skill rating to see things aren’t broken or Bungie isn’t just making some shit up.

Check my game history.. Never ever reached fabled.. Constantly being paired with guys WAY above my skill level in Mythic and so on.. This "skill based matchmaking" and "true skill", haven't seen much of it

Edited by Fate: 10/26/2019 2:32:11 AMThey need skill based matchmaking determined by average performance rating Personally I care less I always get the team of incompetents and end up doing everything Despite just playing pvp out of boredom when I do play

1 ReplyBooooooohooooooo. It's not your friend, it's your eyes

1 ReplyIt’s based of true skill so glory ranks don’t matter.

11 RepliesYou hit Legend and can’t freelance your friends account to Fabled? Seems off.

I'm wondering if this is part of the "the better you do the better your opponents will be" type of matchmaking they have. I mean I'm a semi-decent player but there are times where I can stomp out and completely slaughter the enemy team (and other times I get straight bulldozed on, lol), then when I go to check them out they are barely Heroic or sometimes even Brave 2. I look at their previous matches and they could've gone on a tear and won maybe 4-5 games in a row and I guess the game is like "damn, a 5 streak? You must be Mythic good." Sometimes my teammates are complete potato and other times it feels like they have been hand picked by PvP God and they will completely carry our whole squad single handedly. I dunno. It's all dumb. Get what ya need in comp and GTFO.
