Don't forget about how we got bamboozled from our bright dust. The weekly bounties only give out 200 bright dust each while the dailies only give out around 10-20 bright dust. Sure, they're daily but that doesn't excuse the fact that we're getting shafted by spending 3,000 glimmer per bounty to earn 50-100 bright dust a day.
That isn't enough to keep up with the Eververse economy. When Bungie explained how we'd be getting bright dust from bounties I was assuming they would be on all bounties and not just the reloadables and weeklies. I also thought that we'd be able to earn much more than we are currently. I was too optimistic. I should've known better.
EDIT: All the Bungie apologists are coming out of the woodworks. Yeesh xD.

Edited by Spawn Of Apathy: 10/12/2019 5:22:55 PMNot even all weekly and random bounties give you bright dust. Ikora’s Vex bounties and Eris’s moon bounties do not offer bright Dust. So if I’m only focusing on new content I’m not getting any bright dust.
-
3K glimmer is not a big deal, especially since they made glimmer drop from everything, and more of it to boot.
-
I got 5000 bright dust last week...
-
Lmao You won’t be needing bright dust. Since damn near every item in Season of the Undying is for SILVER only.
-
They don’t become available for Dust till next week, so I wouldn’t go peddling that narrative too loudly.
They don’t become available for Dust till next week, so I wouldn’t go peddling that narrative too loudly.
Except that it’s true. Most wont be available for dust this season.

We’ll see. If I had to predict Bungie will hide a handful of the exotic items behind the paywall, much like last season. Which ones will determine how angry we are as individuals.
We’ll see. If I had to predict Bungie will hide a handful of the exotic items behind the paywall, much like last season. It’s a pretty obvious scam, so people who don’t like scams should already be angry.

Again, data mining the classifications when nothing is being sold for dust until after the first two weeks is stupid. It can’t be sold for Bright Dust now, that’s the point. If it comes to Tuesday reset and not one item there has moved, then congratulations you’re justified. If they do however, you look a bit like an impatient trigger happy controversy seeker.

The same thing happened last season and the data mined was correct. Right now you can buy season 8 armor ornaments for dust. So your point isn’t even accurate. “Wait and see” will just be replaced with another ridiculous justification of greed after Tuesday. No one is saying there won’t be new items for sale in the bright dust section of the store, stop building straw men.
-
But you are saying the datamine is accurate when Bungie have actively stated we won’t get items for two weeks. So what happens if it hits next weeks reset and suddenly the classifications changed? Last season did not have such a policy. Let next week roll round then you can get mad. I would rather have a solid foundation than a shaky one.

Good for you. Makes no difference to me.

-
Except it’s not talking shit. I have been online. Seeing no items that were not listed in the store, I conceded that no changes to the stock were made, an outcome I never said was impossible. I do not see where, within our interaction, anyone talked shit.

You want to couch it as a hypothetical to hedge, but it’s obvious.

Okay, so you’re using ‘talking shit’ to state that I was talking out of my ass. Understandable from your perspective. I took the phrase to mean insulting. Apologies. But now since the stock has not changed my other stated views.... have not really changed. I did not argue anything based off of the stock changing or not, instead stating would either turn out would do. But do go on hammering that point home. Neither of us gain anything from it at this point. Well that’s false, you gain satisfaction.

I would rather have a solid foundation than a shaky one.
This season doesn’t have that “policy” either. They are selling season 8 armor ornaments in the EV for dust right now. They may have “actively stated” that but they were wrong. The data mine last season is accurate, and I believe that history is more likely to be accurate than I believe in Bungie to not use shady tactics to try and sell more microtransactions. Cosmetics are the big thing this expansion. Just watch the “launch trailer” the majority of it is highlighting cosmetics you have to buy from EV and not new gameplay. Last season people like you said to wait till the end of the season because data mining had been wrong before. It wasn’t wrong. It was 100% accurate. This is easy to predict, and has data to back it up. When next week rolls around you will see that your faith in Bungie is misplaced. You can say “wait till Tuesday” and “wait till the end of the season” till you’re blue in the face, but the reality is that EV is a scam to get as much money as humanly possible out of players. It gets more resources poured into it every season that vendors you can earn gear from.

Actually I had faith in last seasons data mining once they managed to accurately predict the following weeks inventory precisely. I’m simply stating that this time they have made a statement about it. If nothing changes next week then I can be mad about it. Though not too mad, considering free to play

Shadowkeep is separate from the Eververse store. You do not require Shadowkeep to buy shit from it
Shadowkeep is separate from the Eververse store. You do not require Shadowkeep to buy shit from it
I never said anyone was required. but it’s also not true that the game is free to play.

Tell that to everyone who is playing for free. I know several personally. It’s not free for us sure, but Bungie have not only provided a free to play version of the game but cut off their deal with Activision, bought Destiny back and cut their deal with Sony. Doesn’t excuse locking everything behind Silver. I’m personally more upset by the seeming lack of content from the season, but hopefully the next few seasons without an expansion and new armour system will bring activities with a bit more meat on the bones. In the meantime, I’ve got three new titles to chase and perhaps an old one to mop up. We clearly aren’t getting anywhere, so I’ll save us both the trouble of repeating ourselves again and end things here. Enjoy the rest of your morning/afternoon/evening/night

It pushes players to the paid version, and microtransactions. That’s just factual, not moral. The monetization of Destiny is worse now after they split from Activision, which’s seems pretty amazing. I’m not saying the game is bad, or people shouldn’t play and enjoy it, but I am saying that there are some major issues for a portion of veteran players when it comes to the monetization of the game.
