I've recently come back to the game after not playing season of the joker. I had played any gambit or gambit prime and have just started playing it again. I have found if you don't have truth or don't use it you are instantly at a disadvantage.
It seems like the entire game is a race to see who can open a portal first and hop in with truth. Isnt it supposed to be a race to kill the prime evil?
It doesn't matter how hard I try I just can't avoid the rockets. I don't invade so running a sniper is just not viable cause they nerfed black hammer. Like as soon as I see someone with truth I just kinda count my blessings. It makes the game super hard to enjoy cause I get killed every 45 seconds by truth. Pls help

After I re-spawn after getting killed with by the first rocket, I try to do a better job of hiding...

1 ReplyAs soon as there's an invasion, try to hide behind a cover if not then hope that they go for your team mates first and you're not near them 😂
truth hurts 🤭
By protesting and chanting Orange man bad

Hope a teammate jumps right in front of me as the rocket is coming towards me.
surprisingly it happens alot
Run titan, when someone invades find a corner, pop you shield, and hope for the best.

2 RepliesAlign yourself politically with the Republican party, probably. Truth won't be bothering you anymore

Its really hard to counter truth. Truth has insane tracking with a nice blast radius so it isn't much you can do except kill the user. The real fix to truth is it needs its reload spd nerfed to extreme lows to not be cheap. Auto tracking rockets should not have fast reload spd. It would also force the user to make a build aroud rockets instead of solely relying on them.

When the invader alert goes off, move to a place near cover. Peek out and try to find the invader. Wait for him to fire, and the step behind the cover. If he had locked on to you it will swerve and detonate on cover. If he didn't lock on and it goes past cover, you may still die. Not sure what you mean about snipers? They are quite viable in Gambit, imo. Just make sure to keep/collect ammo, so you can kill the invaders when they come.

Here is what I have learned from countering invaders. These aren't fool proof. But my personal experience has been that doing these will put you into a good position to counter an invader, regardless what weapon they are using. Watch the bar and the prompts. Were given multiple indicators as to when an invasion is imminent. This one is fairly obvious but know the map. Learn its angles and shooting lanes. This one I cannot stress enough: Take the high ground any chance you can. Which leads me to: Manipulate the invader spawns. Put yourself in a position to know with a good amount of certainty where the invader will spawn. By doing so you put yourself at less of disadvantage. By taking the high ground when and where possible, you deny an invader a superior vantage point from which they can rain death down on you and your team. Scouts shine in this role especially polaris lance. Dont be afraid to challenge but dont over commit yourself as well. If you have better positioning, make them come to you, keep the pressure on them. Even if you dont take them out you will potentially pin them down and allow a teammate to finish them. Waste their time. Again these aren't fool proof by any means. But it has worked for me pretty darn well for me. One last thing before I forget, rocket lawn chairs pose just as much of a threat to use as it does to you. Especially truth with its horseshoes and hand grenades perk. Got a good CQB set up? Get in their face! Again, your millage may vary and all that.

Hide. Truth users hardly ever get aggressive (because if they were good enough to be aggressive, they wouldn't clutch Truth...) Wait it out. Or, counter attack with a Truth. I prefer my MGs, but if Truth users invade too often, I will break mine out and show them what's up.

Hide;)

4 RepliesI do this. Ready? Stand behind a wall.
amazing i know. I’m brilliant for coming up for this. I’m currently writing my Nobel speech.
1 ReplyGet behind cover when there is an invader - also use another Truth (or other one-hit-kill weapon) to kill invaders.
-
3 RepliesI may be in the minority here but Truth is not nearly as irritating as Sleeper. All you had to do with that was point it in someone's direction. At lease with Truth you have a slim chance of living. When the Drifter lets you know an Invader arrives just stick to cover. Try to use scout and sniper rifles to pinpoint where they are. This is harder than it sounds because some maps are more open. Keep moving and don't box yourself in.

You dont unless there is a cockblocking wall near u

Be out of sight Block it with a sword

You use a lag switch. (Joke)

4 RepliesEdited by Milo: 9/10/2019 10:48:03 PMRun a shutdown super. I love playing gambit solely to shut down invaders with thundercrash. OR try out izanagis burden. With honed edge x4 activated, you can one shot kill Body shot an invader in full over shield.
