Soul, dealing damage with melee weapons gives you energy. With enough of it, you can use it for spells, buffs, and healing.
Some enemies might not give off soul when hit. Only about four enemies have this gimmick, one of which is a boss.
Death, dying results in respawning at a bench but you lose access to an ability in your normal loadout. Defeat the enemy that killed you to get it back. Dying during a boss fight will permanently kill you in the event.
The DM decides on what ability is lost upon death.

7 RepliesDo I get: Charms? A pure nail? Spell upgrades? 10/10 boss fights? Mask shards? And more?

2 RepliesInteresting ideas, but melee combat is not my character's most powerful attack (other than maybe a new sword), so I may stick to some range.

1 ReplyThat sounds fun. It may be a lot to manage for one dm, but other than that it sounds cool
