A lot of the time I find myself trying to put a custom waypoint for a specific place on the map to travel to and explore. It would be awesome if Bungie could incorporate custom way points so that we wouldn’t have to travel to the other screen mid pursuit

Almost 2 years. No movement. Look guys, I'd volunteer my own time to implement this. Let's get it done.

10 RepliesEdited by mja calg: 8/18/2019 6:02:27 PM"Adding WayPoints is hard.." - even though every other Game (Far Cry, GTA 5 etc. etc.) all have this ability. The really sad part is that we have been asking this since the D1 Beta in the Forums.. So much for "Bungie Listening"... They will not be passing this request on to the Devs.

5 RepliesAnd make it like how some of these games have a giant verticle beam of light for the point. This makes it easy to spot.

100% this

And also a tiny map while driving on sparrow...

Mechs down at Nav Gamma.

4 RepliesI would also want a translucent map overlap that I can call up while moving/on my Sparrow. In fact, I'd love an auto-piloting mode so I can do other things while I wait for my Sparrow to drive me to my destination: we literally already have this now in 2019, but apparently not in the Age of Guardians.

And fast travel to fireteam members
-
I feel like it wouldn’t really be useful solo, but it could help in directing teammates (especially new players) towards waypoints.

1 ReplyEdited by GalaxySpider: 8/19/2019 7:06:44 PMThe maps are relatively small and spots are easy to remember. I never even used the actual waypoint system which is already in the game (marking vendors, adventures, quests etc). I guess that's why they didn't bother to implement a custom waypoint system. And tbh, I wouldn't either...

Would be a novelty really. None of the areas are THAT big....

2 RepliesWith them wanting to be a MMO you would think they would do so. But what about the Calus chest? You don’t want to make it too easy being that it kind of tell you where they are anyway. Or Lost sectors, those are meant to be found. Do we just omit waypoints for things like that?
-
But why though? Like yeah they would be helpful for starting out, but I see no reason to use them myself, what do you need them for?
-
3 RepliesEdited by EJBLACK: 8/19/2019 2:09:18 PMThe only place I can think of where this would actually be useful is for the forges and tbh we should just be able to launch those from orbit. EDIT: this comment was made based off of mis-understanding what was being said. When OP said waypoint you can travel to, I thought it was meant as like a fast-travel waypoint.

I always upvote these posts. Custom map marker like in fallout. Why do we not have this?

2 RepliesOr even better.... How about a better mapping system with my details and information??? The Map in Destiny is atrocious! Black and white with small text and doesn’t give any details of the lay of the land. The map needs to be completely redone. I mean of all the things in the game, the map could be handled a lot better
-
4 RepliesFor what though? Every planet is about 2 feet wide, maybe for chests and materials you want to pick up later but that’d be useless too since those change spawns once you leave that certain area. So many other things that need to be fixed/added for qol, but this isn’t one of them.
-
2 RepliesThat feature will be sold as DLC for $10.
-
1 ReplyDestiny maps are way too small to make use of this
-
Yes please.
-
Custom waypoints will be available for purchase at Eververse after Shadowkeep drops.

Content is hard-Bungie

I’ve wanted this for a long time.

100% we need waypoints! For the longest time I simply didn't do any of the adventures on planets because I liked the little orange flags and would use them as my waypoints. Unfortunately, because of quests and events I've had to do them all so the flags are gone :( All they had to do was NOT remove the flag after you complete them and the problem would be solved. Most days I wonder if they even play their own game, because it sure doesn't seem like it.
