I really want to share my emotions from the current spring event.
I have been playing Destiny 2 since its free distribution on PS4. During this time I fell in love with this game and only played PVP for more than 300 hours, and total more than 500 hours. Of course, I went through all the raids and studied all possible activities. And in my view, PVP is the main endgame activity for regular players.
But the more I play, the more upsetting pressing issues, such as the balance of classes, weapons, and, most importantly - the network connection.
I consider myself a mid-level player and consistently finish matches with KDAs above 1.5. But in conditions when players from other regions (Europe, for example) come across in the opposing team, it’s not possible to enjoy the game due to a very strong delay.
But now it's not even about that. The current event has upset me very well. I will explain the points:
1) Extremely monotonous activity in the forest. Only a slightly altered forest from the previous Halloween event does not cause even the slightest desire to go through it. In the first run, I closed 110 stages of the simulation and forgot about the endless forest, like an endless nightmare.
2) Very weak rewards (in my subjective opinion). Farm essence for the ghost of a ladybug ?! This is not an Asian MMO! Why is the game in the genre of sci-fi more and more filled with completely unsuitable elements of popular culture and similar "graces"? I am already silent about the fact that absolutely all rewards are reskins of existing equipment. I believe that this is just a descent into the toilet working time of talented artists and designers.
3) And now the most important point - the failure of the entire balance. The effect of the event tonic, as it turned out, is valid in all activities. Thus, all they do in PVP is that they constantly throw grenades. For this there is a chaos mode !!! I just want to run and shoot, and not die every second from a random electrical circuit. This system works in all activities, so the Gambit becomes unplayable as the PVP.
Findings:
1) instead of the event, it would be better to make one (!!!!!) mission for the similarity of the mission to the "whisper of a worm" or a split throne. And the reward in the form of a crossbow would be much more interesting. Yes, perhaps, in this case, a smaller number of players would immediately receive it, but that’s the point - the final goal should be desirable and difficult to reach.
2) Until the end of the event in PVP, I do not play, in the gambit, too. In PVE, I have long received everything that was necessary. Thus, with the game I just have to say goodbye for 3 weeks.
3) Maybe I just got sore, but it seems that the work on the game is moving in a completely wrong direction. I really hope that Bangui does not do the 3rd part, but will continue to fully complete the second one (even though it sounds utopian). There are a lot of projects that develop over the years, and do not lose the audience. I believe that the game has great potential, but I can be mistaken about the capabilities of the engine. I believe that it is precisely by its features, as well as the technical limitations of the PS4 console, that many of the current mechanics are due. Nevertheless, in anticipation of the release of the next generation of consoles, it seems more realistic to upgrade the current engine and to avoid technology peer-to peer that is so blunt. I am sure that Destiny can go on this way. True, the necessary turn, apparently, has already been missed ...
The essence of any company in our world is profit, I understand this perfectly. However, the credit of my trust, as well as the desire to pay the money of this company, is rapidly moving towards zero.

3 RepliesYou have some valid points, but is this the only video game where players feel the need to announce their departure in a long essay to Bungie? Like just stop playing the game and that's it. I never felt the need to announce me moving on from a video game in my life. Im not just knocking on you, but everyday there is post of someone announcing that they are leaving the game, as though we all are going to beg them to come back.

2 RepliesEdited by xMikeTheRipper: 4/19/2019 9:22:21 PMall these attention seeking " I'm leaving guys, i swear! I mean it! I'm not going to delete my characters though because I MAY come back.." posts breed nothing but toxicity in the forums. no one cares. Make your points of criticism but leave out the sappy threats of leaving. Everyone takes a break at some point, some people stay away forever, most come back when there's something new ( even if that "new" thing is just recycled content ) not everyone has to announce their departure every time they take a break though. it all just comes off as attention seeking.

The majority of players play PVE, and have historically always been the higher population. For example yesterday 582k played PVE/Gambit and 280k played PVP. There are all kinds of tracker sites that show the stats of the player population. Most players play both sides for endgame, but a lot only play crucible for weekly milestones and quests that require it, but don’t play for fun. Not discrediting your opinion about the game, just informing you that PvP is not the endgame.

100% agree with regards to the current event, it's like WoW and Final Fantasy had a child. The Forrest is just dull. Reskins everywhere as usual, I mean come on give us a new ship and sparrow chassis every season and just sell paint jobs, but no we just get the same stuff over and over. As for the game, been playing since TTK in D1, it's frustrating when some of the glaring issues get wallpapered over but uts still enjoyable for myself at least. But, theres always one, the revelry has made me take a step back, as did Black Armoury when that was released. Still playing but a lot of clan mates haven't bothered with this, it feels cheap and reused the theme in the tower is inappropriate for the setting, the armour...I mean 2 sets that look almost the same, the as you said ladybug ghost shell, the ghost projections....words fail me. You wanted to do spring? Do it with a darker theme. I feel like Destiny has been invaded by Blizzard and Peppa Pig. Still playing but at the mo I find myself just wandering around the tower or just sat I orbit. I am dreading having to go back and compete the triumphs for the exotic because currently paying destiny feels mile someone is sanding my brain
