ive spent probably 70 or more hours on the first part of the pvp quest for the last word and the highest ive managed to get it to is 10% before it drops down again. i am not good enough at pvp to get the gun so i look up the guides, i grind out the best guns that they recomend and i still am not getting anywhere. at this point i put a few hours into crucible each day and i might get 2% or so before it drops back down to 0%. and its hard to keep clicking play, there is no other reason to play pvp for me other than just grinding for the gun (wich i payed for btw). and after sitting there for hours to litterally achieve nothing i turn the game off and then come back the next day and repeat process. i would much rather it be a ridiculous amount of kills you have to achieve without your progress being hindered ive probly got 250 kills in crucible since starting the quest and since i cant get them in a streak im stuck going nowhere. getting stomped over and over isnt teaching me anything, like i said i already looked up the guides i have all the guns they recomend and im just coming to a point where i dont even want to play the game anymore. the hours i put in to achieving litterally nothing except a few blue pieces of gear and the occasional legendary piece of gear. the pvp people dont understand because when they go to get pve gear they can still get it. for example malfeasance, it takes a long time and rewards dedication so the people who are good at pvp get the pve stuff if they put the time in wich makes sense. but at the moment im just annoyed by this whole thing i dont whether to pay someone to grind it out for me wich would be another huge waste of money on already 100 wasted hours or so plus 50 dollars i already spent on the dlc, plus 3 hours of watching guides, plus another 4-5 hours farming out the guns the guides recomend... only to find that im still useless with the guns. this is not good developer content, if i was after something like the lunas howl or not forgotten i would understand being frustatrated by it. but i am not clicking competitive, i just want to grind out the exotic and be on my way. but at this point even if i get it im still just gonna be annoyed by it. ive put in too much time on it for it to even be worth it

I’m sorry buddy, but I had to stop reading about 1/3 of the way through when I realized there were no paragraph breaks. I finished that part of the quest during Iron Banner this week. Seems easier to complete while playing Control Matches.

Edited by NeoGaming: 2/23/2019 2:26:52 AMdont worry about the original post anymore i got this done for anyone who is struggling on this step what i did was i went with jotuun, it starts with 2 shots and its pretty much 2 free kills per life if ur aim is true. for primary i was running blast furnace. also check ur mouse sensitivity. once i did those 2 things i was set (mouse sensitivity is probly the most important tho). at one point i even got 10 kills on a single life. maybe my original post a bit premature, now that i can get kills i actually am starting to enjoy crucible.

Do it in iron banner
-
Are you serious... I got it by myself the day it came out and haven't played d2 since. Sucks my dude
-
3 RepliesRun with a fire team. I completed the second step in not even two hours.

First off, in the words of Samuel Jackson; paragraphs mother-blam!-er , do you know of them ? Second I don't know what to tell you, I'm for most part a PVE only guy and I have gotten Last Word , Ace of Spades, Malfeasance , every single exotic handcannon that requires you to kill people, at a certain point you just got to nut up ,shut up, and get to killing shit . Here's a thought, maybe instead of wasting time writing this column of welching, work on your gunskill , think a bit more about how you engage people, or find some people to play with who can keep you alive long enough to make your kills. Lastly I have to ask , do you use handcannon's ? Do you play any PvP besides when a quest demands it of you? Unless you answered yes to either question , you won't find the Last Word a worthwhile prize for your grief at this quest ...

I just ran a striker titan in IB and it came pretty quick. I'm not a big time pvp player. For some reason I always do better with my titan (don't have oem)... and when IB is here, you get some normal players mixed in with the sweaty shotgun players. So this week is probably a good time to try again.

1 ReplyI will do it for you. I got it done in 4 games snd im not that good
-
4 Replies
only to find that im still useless with the guns.
If you can't achieve at least a 0.50kAd on a normal crucible match...you don't deserve it, you can't be that bad on pvp, i would be ashamed of doing a post when the cause of all the problem is my ability, you should.
-
Just do it already. You'll be glad that you did.
-
10 RepliesI wouldn’t worry about it If this quest step is too hard, the gun won’t be of any use to you anyway so.....
-
Play mayhem when it roll's around again to finish it if bad at pvp. It's easy to complete in that game mode. I'm a PvP scrub and if I can do it anyone can. It would take me forever trying to finish this quest step if I was playing quick play or iron banner. Mayhem though it took just a few matches.

You didn't pay for the gun. You paid for the chance to get it. You getting the gun or not is entirely dependent on you.
-
The quest was easy. I’m terrible at Crucible (my lifetime stats can prove it) and I knocked it out in a single 3 hour span.
-
6 RepliesHow do you not yet have that done with? Even my girlfriend got it and she had shitty weapons and armor.

12 RepliesEdited by TJ_Dot: 2/22/2019 2:42:56 AMI guess you're entitled to all raid gear then too. GUYS, BRING THE TRUCK OVER!

Alright, uninstall destiny then. Your type isn’t wanted anyway.
-
1 ReplyPaid* Appreciate a challenge not everything is handed to you. Pve and pvp I paid for borderlands and I still don’t have a sham shield should that just be given to me cuz I bought the game?
-
1 ReplyA) You payed for the ability to get the gun, not to get the gun without completing the quest, B) Just don’t get the gun there are plenty of other exotic hand cannons so chill, C) If I missed anything important I couldn’t give two -blam!-s bc I’m not gonna search through this wall of text to find it

It’ll be easier sledding in the crucible Friday as many regulars will be playing other games most likely until late summer early fall. Keep grinding, you’ll eventually get it.

Use common sense and stop engaging players alone stay with another player and teams shoot them. Use your teammate as bait.
-
2 RepliesYou are probably thinking too hard on it. Get yourself a hard hitting scout (I used jade rabbit) find a lane, camp it out near cover. See a guardian pop out, rail them with head shots until dead. Rinse and repeat. Just keep an eye on your radar so you do not get flanked.

Edited by Strykar: 2/22/2019 12:07:46 AMJust a heads up if you didn’t know already. There is a bigger PVE grind after this initial step. On top of that, you still have more PvP to do. My suggestion is this, if you can swing it, play during early day hours. Playing later in the day/evening puts you up against more sweats. Also bigger tip, use weapons that you are accustomed to. Trying to use weapons that are popular or meta, that you don’t use normally will hinder more than help. Also, play somewhere in between aggressive, yet cautious. You also get credit for assists and streaks. If you play to cautiously, you will more than likely get tapped from a ranged weapon. Stick with the team and get assists. Try not to focus on score or you will stay frustrated.
