Well, there I was, shooting both Hive and Taken in the face EQUALLY (No difference because of enemy race), and then they decided that I shooting them wasn’t enough and they started shooting each other.
Ok, jokes apart, that’s weird. Weren’t Hive and Taken supposed to have the same leader? If that happened normally, Oryx’s fleet would have destroyed itself before even arriving on Sol.
Is that implying some kind of inner conflict? Or did Bungie just forget to put a code to prevent them from attacking each other? I’m confused now.

They are bound to feed the worm larvae. They must kill and also they follow the sword logic

1 ReplyThey’re working together to overthrow Savathun.

1 ReplyThe taken are a slave race to the hive. Based on what I know of certain parts of the lore or maybe this could be seen as a theory, but to me the taken will break from hive control and become many times more powerful.

Edited by Raevenent: 1/8/2019 12:55:05 PMCoding error is a more likely thing. For the sake of the argument, let's say it isn't, it's probably since the change in leadership, Savathun and Xivu Arath control them now, since the death of Oryx, we really, and I mean REALLY crippled the hive, so them turning on each other wouldn't be a surprise to me.

1 ReplyJanuary is their mating season bruh.

Probably a bug. No reason they should be conflicting, unless it’s a small argument between their leaders.

It’s probably a coding error as the new commander of the Taken armies is Savathûn. She is hive. It could very well be not a coding issue and be that these taken are those seen in gambit and are commanded by the Primevals, thus they are attacking each other as they are enemies.
It is most likely that my first assumption is correct but I would have to dig deeper into his scenario and the whys.
The Taken are being controlled by Savathûn now. Some even controlled by Xivu Arath. The Hive aren’t really controlled by anyone right now as far as I can tell. So it’s understandable that they’re gonna try to kill each other

Some Taken are under control by entities against the Hive. Drifter could sic the Primevals on some Hive if he wanted, but if you’re talking about in game, yeah, doesn’t make sense. The only others under control of Taken are Riven, who worked with Savathun

They probably provoked each other with the aggression system

8 RepliesProbably just a one time glitch. Or maybe Bungie will address it in the next Hive perspective lore tab: damn taken, who do they think they are?!
-
From a lore standpoint, I see that the hive want to consume and kill more to feed their worms. The taken simply don’t like them, I’d imagine they’d be inferior to the taken. However, it might be a glitch or a awesome spectacle.

I’ve never had the Taken and the Hive fight before in the Dreaming City. For me, at the entrance to the Blind Well, they just sit there next to each other “peacefully” until a Guardian or the Scorn get too close, or if they get close to the Awoken nearby then they’ll start attacking.

3 RepliesI am also confused about this. In the Dreaming City this week they are fighting one another.
