Is Competitive As Bad As People Make It Out To Be?
Ok i know that about 3/4 of the Destiny 2 community ain't exactly huge fans of competitive play based on the number of posts this forum has on the subject. But i gotta ask is the hate really justified? Don't get me wrong i hate the comp playlist as much as others, but is it really justified based on the all the posts about it?

1 ReplyFrom my experience, Comp isn't bad at all, I am. I kinda suck in comp, but that's down to my skill level and not the game mode. I do wish they'd separate fireteams from solo queue bois though, they should do that in all game modes.

Yes. It's a structural problem. Mostly due to shotty matchmaking and unbalanced team numbers. I'm guilty of ditching out on occasion too, though. Sometimes it just isn't worth it, the loss is a loss and it's a horrible amount of points. If, however they fixed matchmaking somehow and modified the points gained vs points loss it would in theory be a more fluid experience. There are other problems like generally pretty bad map design that play a part too but that's just what that is. *shruggles*

IB not too bad. You’ll go on a win streak more often than not. Competitive....... stay away...... stay far away.

I’ve just played 15 games of IB & saw a range of weapons & tactics being used. I’ve done four of the IB bounty’s had a prime engram drop at 635 power for me my power is now 631 the Jade Rabbit dropped at 633 for me as part of the game rewards 👍 Players moan about everything it’s kill or be killed just play & have fun 👍

Then, they go into denial blaming the game, lag, pretty much anything but themselves. This is how it is in any PVP game mode. Competitive is not as bad as these whiny crying baby posts would make it seem.

It’s the new trials so yeah. I was bent out of shape when I got my first DDOS. The matchmaking rigging what could of been a 3v3 into a 2v4. Uneven distribution of players: why should I go up against Luna/nf at any point when I wasn’t even fabled? Those are the kind of issues that need work, otherwise it’ll be removed like trials

2 RepliesNah it's pretty easy. Took about a week to hit legend in season 4/5. Took 3 weeks in season 3 but that was because 5 streaks reset.

10 RepliesMostly because the matchmaking tends to creates unfair games if you happen to solo queue, but also because it’s just a very tilting experience overall, due to the enemy team usually being super strong and your team super weak, no matter the guns you have, while they abuse meta and no-skill their way to victory. But definitely matchmaking is a big problem. (Also I’ve made it all the way down in Guardian II and I’m still seeing Luna’s Howls and such Weapons that I shouldn’t be seeing at that low of a rank, and 4-stacks using meta as a crutch...I’m already rock bottom essentially, so I’m already gonna have a tough time getting to fabled, but apparently hand cannon kills with Malfeasance ain’t working well enough)

Under 1k glory has been hilarious because it tries to matchmake based on glory and not skill, so I’ll be matched against a team of level 30s using blue guns. I’ve lost 2 games out of my last 15 or so, one because I accidentally left and one because I was matched with a level 8 and a level 10 against a 4 stack.

12 RepliesPeople seem to forget what the word means. They go into the Comp playlist and expect to be able to stomp like they do in Quickplay and then promptly come here to complain about how unfair life is. So no, I'd say it's not warranted. That said, it would be really nice if the Glory system worked as intended.
