It's ridiculous 90% of my latest gambit matches are 4 stacks. Yes I know you can beat them but it's insanely difficult to if they have any sort of coordination.

Its a team game. find a team! yes solo queue in a team game is a poor idea to begin with. This is not a Bungie Issue this is a YOU issue!

Stacks have found a way to game matchmaking. This is the reason for the naysayers here. They don't want the system fixed because they are on the sunny side of the rigged system. Hence the attempts to make this about 'good vs bad players' or 'it's just bad players complaining'. If it was about skill, shouldn't you get the same results (win ratio) when stacking and when queuing solo? Here's how it works: All that a stack have to do is to make sure they don't have a significantly below average skill player in the stack. The kind of skill blind matchmaking will always put, by probability, at least one but usually two below average players into a random team (together with two above average players). Any 4-stack can avoid that. Players in the stack don't even need to be good to totally dominate the average random team. Any 4 mediocre, just slightly above average, players will do. Because the stack will not have to deal with 1 or 2 below average players bringing the team average down. A random team will almost always have those 2 below average players. It puzzled me a little while why there'd be opposition to an absolutely reasonable fix of making separate queues. Because they're not voluntarily going to give up an unfair advantage they gained over solos by gaming the matchmaking system. This is something that Bungie will just have to fix.

How is it ridiculous? Because groups know what they are doing and talk? With a specific fireteam setup, the Primeval will be melted immediately EVERY game. If you end up in a fireteam where the setup is Nova Bomb, Golden Gun and Spectral Blades, prepare to LOSE!

We need Mercenary playlists for Comp and Quickplay. Stacks in quickplay all decked out with Not Forgotten and Lunas Howl is not fun for alot of players.
-
2 RepliesI wanna know why they lump all the fireteams together instead of attempting some kind of balance. Lets put a 4man and a 2man together and lump the solos together. Or a 3man and 2man together and lump the solos together. This happens so frequently.

Nah I completely disagree. Imo, solo stacks need their own separate queue
side note anyone ever notice the word "queue" is just saying the letter "Q" followed by 4 silent letters?
2 RepliesEdited by Happy Happy NL: 12/18/2018 10:57:12 AMNot only Gambit.. QP too imo.. Just to give an example: Last night I played comp for the first time if I remember correctly. I had to play comp, because of 1 or 2 quest. I normally don't play comp. I played two games. The first game was a game of solo players and I had a kd of 14.0 I think. The second game I played in a team of solo players against a fireteam of 4 players. They were not better players per se than the players in the previous match, but they were definitely playing as a team. I ended up with a kd of 0.65 if I remember correctly. The point is that there is a really REALLY big gap between playing against solos and playing against a team. Rarely will you play against a fireateam of 3 or more players and not notice that for some reason you are getting blown away. The gap is just too big. The gap is so big that a differentiated playlist between teams and solos is justified in my opinion. But hey, who are we kidding, it will never happen.. :D

2 RepliesI don't think 4 stacks is the problem in gambit. AFK people, people who invade with 15 motes, people who sit at the invade portal and die as soon as they invade, people who dont deposit their motes when you can summon a primival, people who kill ads and don't pick up motes, those are the issue. I wish bungie can put a solo queue for a limited time so they can see that they will still lose every game. The only solution to avoid getting these kind of people in your team is 4 stack cos doing a solo queue will end up in the same thing.

3 RepliesCan we have just have a separate play list for good players?

4 RepliesBecause you suck bungie should change the game? Lol, people really need to stop bitching about this.

1 ReplyI fully agree with you. I rarely see 4 stacks but i regularly see 3 stacks. In the last days one sided 3 stacks made up 50-70% of all games. Sure you can beat them, but the win chances against 3 stacks are still below average. Matchmaking wise the main problem seems to be that match making in gambit never disbands groups. If you are a 3 or 4 stack and ever play against randoms you will play against them until 4 of them leave after the match, otherwise the group is just refilled. For 3 stacks this was observable for me as i frequendly seen the same guys vs randoms. I dont think that randoms vs groups can be completely prevented but i think the matchmaking should be changed in a way that it tries to find a group for a longer period of time. If group vs random happens the lobby should be disbanded afterwards. If one side is alot stronger it should be disbanded as well (like crucible does already). Everyone that is against such changes should think about it. You need some gameplay quality and a fair chance to win. If players dont get the feeling they can win they will not play the game mode. Ive seen enought situations in games where devs ignored such issues with the result of less players jopining in the activity. I know that steamroling can be fun, but it doesnt help in keeping players.

1 ReplyEdited by HappyRogue: 12/18/2018 6:54:45 PMlegitimate argument against: Please bring them. No to separate queues because 'We're just 4 friends who wanna have fun' What you're really saying is: We don't wanna go against other teams because we don't want to have actual competition. Our 'fun' is that our 4-stack stomps randoms. Don't put us against other 4-stacks. Reading through all of this, there is no legitimate argument against separate queues in this thread.

1 ReplyGenerally whenever 4 clan members stack and decide that they're going to go pvp, they do so under the presumption that they'll dominate. So how about pushing 3-4 stacks in to competitive playlists and leaving the casual playlists for solos or doubles (at most)?
-
They could even make some sneaky algorithm where if you haven't gotten a streak then you're less likely to match into a 4 stack than if you're already on a streak. Or the other way around, idk

3 Repliesback in my day, a stacked team referred to a fireteam of top notch players.
-
1 ReplyIt wasn't so long ago that team vs team was prioritized in matchmaking. However the sweats started whining that they weren't able to to roll teams of randoms. This prompted Bungie to remove the feature so that sweats and streamers would be happy. Another blow to the core player base.
-
1 Replyif bungie allowed one laggy 4 stack to play another laggy 4 stack it would break the game and people would cry they can't stream victories.
-
2 RepliesPlease stop invading when they haven't even damaged their Primeval yet.
-
They need to do this for gambit and competitive honestly.
-
3 RepliesWhy Bungie? Feeding randoms as cannon fodder to 4stacks? Any adversarial/vs mode that pits 4stacks against randoms is inherently flawed. Hope they fix this in the next season when they redo gambit. The fix is so simple: Solo mode: Can't enter as a stack Stack mode: Stacks vs stacks 'get a team'? No, because: a) A pre-made stack is not necessary to play it. Any 4 random people who have a general understanding of how gambit works will know what to do. b) If you want to get a team: Go get a team. But play against other teams please. c) Anything that requires to exit the game, go on some lfg website is a pain in the ass. Maybe good for a raid. Not to play a couple of rounds of gambit. tldr: matchmaking: great, matchmaking that puts stacks against randoms: awful

I understand with Gambit but I am still not for solo's getting there own place anywhere. Its unfair that if you are solo you get a place where you can trash on kids, because most bad players are solo. Let me put it in Fortnite terms because that is what kids are hip with these days. You shouldn't be able to solo squad a 4 stack without some skill right? But then theres also the fact that sometimes IT DOES NOT WORK OUT. Things are unfair and you will not always get teammates you want, trust me I know. (thanks cod heist mode)

Edited by DJMC2: 12/18/2018 4:33:33 PMi only got one 4 stack on the enemy team as a soloqueue or duo last night and we beat them 2-0, didn't summon their primeval the first time
AMA
