Competitive matchmaking requires you to be insanely good player if you want to progress in Glory while solo queing. Constantly you get put against 4-man teams that all have lunas or not forgottens and you get all randoms which none has a Luna.
On top of that bungie tries to "balance" teams by putting 0.5kd players on the good players team on purpose in EVERY SINGLE GAME. Basically you get punished for being good at the game.
Solo players should not match 4-man teams. Ever, unless they get paired with a equally good 3-man team on their side. My experience is 90% of the time I get a 3-man team on my side against a 4-man team, I am forced to carry them.
If you wish to peek at my game history here you go https://destinytracker.com/d2/profile/xbl/we-can-lose
In short, fix matchmaking, if anyone over at bungie would try to solo que to 2100 they would understand what I mean... give us fair matches instead of forcing us to 4-man stack for fairness. Competitive is skillbased so I should not match a 1.5-2.0kd team and get three 0.8kd players on my side, how is that fair for me or to them?
Edit: Bungie hire me as your PvP advisor Kappa
Edit2: if someone thinks I cheated all games caught on tape oof proof https://www.twitch.tv/videos/346264000
Edit3: Games were played on my alt named "we can lose"
Edit4: Four randoms should NEVER match a 4-man stack in Comp
Edit5: Fun fact people with 5500 Glory if they dont find a match in 2 minutes or so, they start finding solo randoms with less than 200 Glory :)
Edit6: In halo 2-3 You could only match a 4-man team if you had two 2-man teams or one 3-man team and a solo, but never in my life did game match four randoms against a 4-man team, so why does it happen in destiny? And also when I was 500 Glory in I matched a 4-man team with 2700+ Glory ( they had emblems on) and I checked my teammates who were all below 500 glory and had kds of 0.4 0.8 and 1.01 seems fair right?
edit7:This is how MM worked in Halo 2 and 3 // 4-man team can match two 2-mans or one 3-man and a solo
3-man team can match two man teams or other three man teams and a solo
2-man teams can match 4-man/3-man teams only if they have a 2-man team on their side
Solo players can only match 4-man if they have a 3-man teams on their side or they can match one 2-man team and solos

2 RepliesThe matchmaking follow whoever has the highest Glory rank in a team then matches that team with the same rank as the highest guy. Is this how they do it? I think the problem is there’s just not enough players to be able to do the ideal matchmaking setup. What this game needs is cross play to increase the player count and lessen the queue times and to have better matchmaking. That’s just my opinion.

I feel like the way the game jusges skill is off. Even in an all solo lobby the team composition is off a lot meaning all the better players get put into on team against the rest which always ends in a lopsided match. There is also way too many matches where I get team mates that run around like headless chicken for the first rounds feeding the enemy team and then quit the match to leave us in a 3v4 or 2v4.

6 RepliesLook man, people in this game want to feel good at other people's expense. Remember all the histrionics about skill based match making because people hated all their matches being sweaty and being matched against people with similar skill. They want the occasional real match and the rest of the time they want to get matched against people they can easily crush and give themselves a false sense of superiority. Furthermore, the insistence that "not everyone should be able to get all the weapons or do all the content" is people wanting to artificially lift themselves up by pulling others down.

There system is terrible and the comp playlist population is so low even it doesnt no what to do with itself. I just shake my head bc this is the company who made halo

Edited by Guardian3681: 12/11/2018 11:28:48 AMI did it last season with a couple five game loss streaks. Took me like 8 hrs of gameplay total though. I think I got really lucky though because I’m nowhere near as good as you are.

Mind helping me reach glory? I’m actually good but need some good players like me. I went up to 1000 solo but I’m back down to 700 because I keep matchmaking with 4 man stacked squads. Message me if your willung

Believe it or not, bungie only takes advice from streamers/youtubers. They are baby’s. They want everything easy. This is why shit like this happens. If this game was as big as COD or FORTNITE it would be a lot more polished and it would have wayyyyyy better matchmaking. As it stands it’s the same people all the time.

Bungie had so many things right with Halo that it baffles me how they messed up so much with Destiny matchmaking.

2 RepliesI was playing in a 4 man last night. We are all ok players from Australia. The highest rank among us is fabled and we were matched against another 4 man from Japan with max rank. Not only does it not match rank accurately it can't even match us against local players.

2 RepliesCarry me to 2100. Let’s test this theory out. Psn:patrikolby

7 RepliesYour right the match making is total garbage, I’m not a great player and solo cue, so I am on the flip side, when I see a 3/4 stack 9/10 times we beat them because the game sticks a couple of complete sweats (no offence) on my team to “balance” because they are stacked ! When in reality just because they are in a stack makes them no better ! Also when I do decide to team up with some mates and go in comp, it’s a complete waste of time because of the aforementioned system and it puts us against pinnacle weapon wealding try hards to apparently “balance” the match ... unsurprisingly we get stomped ! Back to solo cueing we go !

5 RepliesPlayed a match last night with a buddy. We got matched against a squad just the 2 of us. That should never happen. It was a slaughter because they had double the people in the fight than we did.

1 ReplyYou should talk to someone because you have some serious masochistic issues.

1 Replywas interested as to how you kept up such a good win rate as a solo then saw the 3.8kd in comp, -blam!-ing hell, I'm impressed
-
1 ReplyThank you for making this point as someone who won most of their matches. When the rest of us post and this happens to us and we lost it is just labeled as loser whining.

1 ReplyYour title is really contrary to the point you're trying to make. You're far too good at this game.

9 RepliesEdited by FataLVisioN_Oo: 12/10/2018 1:43:39 PMI solo'd mostly to 4200 last season.... I didn't think it was that bad..... most the 4 man teams were pretty bad especially the teams in the low 2000's.... didn't really hit a wall until 4200... bounced back and forth from 3500-4200 for a little over 2 months before finding a team to hit 5500. I will say the point system is weighted heavily against you the farther up in points you go making it more of an artificial grind.. comps already a grind in itself I didn't see the point in adding in that extra eff you over twist. I.E. if you lose 1 match you have to win 3 to break even.... that's a bit extra. Whoever thought that was a grand idea was high AF. The whole point system needs to be re worked... personally I wouldn't care if you never lost points or if double/triple glory was a thing. That artificial grind crap on top of an actual grind is for the birds. More people would also play the game mode and that's never a bad thing.

10 Repliesi solo queued all the way to lunas howl last season, it wasn’t as hard as i thought. think i had 16 hours logged in comp when i hit fabled and then had to do another 6 or so to get the hand cannon precision kills and solar kills. it was definitely frustrating at times though. i consider myself a slightly above average player (my k/d is 1.5) and part of me wants to say if i can do it anyone can, but i can’t honestly say that it was easy or that i enjoyed myself. i matched 4 stacks constantly past the 1800s when my whole team was solo queue. when i was going for precision final blows i went 7 games straight against different 4 stack teams, which didn’t bother me since i had already hit fabled and i still won most of the games (had a season peak of 2500) but it was still frustrating to see the awful matchmaking in action.

I agree

Congrats. I loathe comp. but I’m trying to do it too. I’m not getting the expansions so lucky as is one goal I’d like to achieve. Last season i ran out of time though I also topped out at around 900. But I watched a ton of videos on improving my play, knowing maps, lanes, not sprinting, how to use the left stick to aim, and generally improving my kd by playing smarter. I got better. Sadly I didn’t win a ton more. Can’t help matchmaking. And maybe my better play will help this season. I have noticed I’m far far less the weak link in my squad. Hopefully I can get it done. Comp sucks though an the matchmaking is horrible at times. Play i generally hate countdown, supremacy, and breakthrough.

1 ReplyI recently started playing some comp, and I discovered something strange....while I don't win much, I'm not good and I'm a solo player, comp feels way less sweaty than QP. I expected the opposite. Given I've only played a few matches, but that has been my experience so far.

20 RepliesA little off subject here but... Why in the hell do all PvP sweaties in this game have a god roll Dust Rock Blues??! Where do you guys even get them? Or do they just hand them to you at some special vendor no one else has access to??
-
2 RepliesWhen solo queing you can easily avoid 4 stacks by watching the player count. If it jumps by 4 at time immediately back out. It's that easy

1 Replydo u have a twitch or youtube channel?

5 RepliesAll they have to do to fix it is make progress not regress on loss. Fixed. They cant do anything more fancy than that or they would have. They cant even test drive annual pass content before release to find bugs. Keep it simple and end the regression.
