For starters, they assume everyone is over 600 when it launches. With their garbage loot system.

I have been at this for almost an hour now, and yet to see a forge pass 10 charges.
You know, I would appreciate being able to play the content I paid for without being locked out of it.
Either extend the damn timer or add drastically more time per orb. Cause this is bullshit built for elitists and practically nobody else.
Edit: since nobody bothers to read replies. I would love to be higher, however almost 2 sets of mixed weeklies giving nothing but dupes and primaries gets nowhere. Plus the fact of being locked out of raids is no fun either. Would love to hear anything someone has to skyrocket rank.
Edit 2: lol at all the elitist idiots that think I'm complaining about not being high enough. The issue is the immediate jump to almost max light in a single activity. No story, no pre requisite, nothing. Just straight from mid to max. The raid is what should have started at 615, not the new activity.
Edit 3: This just in, as of next reset, the Volunder Forge ranks are decreasing by 5! Not big? They are also helping us out by dropping more prime engrams, which give higher drops, capping around 600! WOOT! Finally something done properly in good time...

I totally agree with you. I have friends that have asked me should I get the annual pass and I told then not to bother just get forsaken without it as by the time they get to 620+ that is the realistic power level to complete it depending on blueberries it will be around June 2019. (if you don't have idiots thinking they can do it at 590. Not a chance in hell) you wouldn't believe how many times I have been queuing and get players under 600 I even had a 560. You won't be able to do any damage at 560 stop clogging up the matchmaking. So I have been grinding constantly since beginning of November from 558 and only got to 616 today. Doing all powerful engrams activitys and a few prime engrams. I was going up by 8-10 power per week if I was lucky and didn't get duplicates. This is only on one of my classes the other 2 are under 560 as I'm focusing on getting one to 620 so I can play content I paid for. I was playing forge for 3 hours the 1st forge just to get the machine gun. Well with the crap matchmaking I was only getting 600-609. With the odd 612+. After 3 hours of getting to 2nd round and running out of time. I ended up having to beg on reddit for two 650 players to help me and that took 4 re-posts. Then after doing the bounty to get a ballistic log. (That I thought I would hold onto until next week to see if they had a frame I could do as the 2 on offer needed the 3rd forge and I barely got through the 1st) and come reset the ballistic log got removed. as you said in round 2 it takes 3-5 seconds to get one buttery that's if you can pick it up. Many times I'm stood there pushing pick up button but it's not picking it up so that looses more time. Also the battery can roll into something and you can't pick it up at all. Then sometimes they just bounce off. They need to change. 1. The rediciulous power level needed. 2. Have a limit on the matchmaking 610+. This is a major issue the matchmaking is clogged up with idiots under 610 who really think they can complete it. 3. Don't remove ballistic logs on reset as the frames on offer need diffrant forge access. 4. Increase the timer or increase the time gained from batterys. 5. Stop the batterys from rolling or auto pick up when waking over them as sometimes the lag means you don't pick it up straight away. I paid for this I expect to be able to play what I spy for. Also I'm pissed that the last word quest will be 650 power are you Fing kidding me bungo!

Let's not forget, the batteries are a complete sh*tshow to pick up. Kills can come easy enough, but I have to run a small circle (or stand still) for about 3-5 seconds to pick it up. Even then, there's a delay to show I'm carrying a battery. If I DO get to throw the battery, the hit detection on the forge is temperamental. Sometimes it accepts batteries if you hit the middle/light. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it won't accept batteries at all. Final gripe: this only happens in the forge, but WHY does my armor, spec'd for heavy ammo finder, not seem to work? We mafe it to the boss twice, TWICE, and both times, throughout every wave, NONE of my kills resulted in heavy ammo on the ground. My team has to utilize primaries and secondaries to whittle the boss's health to a sliver, only for him to redrawn his drones and wipe us with 5 seconds left when we went in for the final kill via supers and shotgun.

Y'all are like, REALLY BAD. I haven't done it yet since I have school, but my friends who do worse than me at most activities have had no problems and EsoTerrik or whoever has ALREADY SOLOD IT. If it is, by the end of it it’ll probably be closer to 650, if not 655 LOL But, anyway, the forge itself is not hard. There’s literally no mechanics. It’s way easier than The Dungeon. But, We beat the dungeon all underleveled by 15. Difference is, the Dungeon has no timer. So we could actually use strategy. The timer is the reason you can’t beat the forge. You are constantly surrounded and there’s a very short timer. So you have no time to retreat or adapt. You have to constantly be rotating and throwing orbs. Even when ppl hit 610-615, the timer will still be the reason teams can’t beat it. To me that’s not good design, because skill is less of a factor than the circumstances. I’ve seen ppl say they struggle with throwing in 10 orbs. With skill you can get to Rd 2. I did. At lvl 601. But at that point, is when you hit a wall thats slightly beyond your control. Unless you have a team of tethers maybe, and constantly keep your supers up. But that’s difficult to coordinate. They don’t really need to focus on the lvl. It’s the timer. I hate timers altogether. But, even if they just extended the time by about 20-30 secs, you’d have a vastly different experience, guaranteed. My guess is they’d made it where (with perfect RNG) you could grind out every weekly and daily milestone and get to about 610 in the first week.

4 RepliesI´m so glad I didn´t spend money on the annual pass. Time gated content just made me stop playing the game altogether. I still check the forums to see if anything changes for the better but not for long. Games should be played for fun but now Destiny looks like a full time job with no time for fun. Meanwhile I´m having fun playing other stuff.

Get your thunderlord for red bars, just to clear the space around the yellow, shotgun for yellow bar scions. Shotgun the machete yellow bar together. When the yellow bar legionaries come out, usually in groups of two, nuke them with a high damage super. Blade barrage, chaos reach etc. cycle orbs. Most importantly stay mobile. Staying in one spot will generally get you killed. If you’re going to camp when the boss spawns you should atleast have one well of radiance. You should honestly just be farming the yellow bars and clearing ads when necessary. The time bonus does seem a bit tight, but if you in those orb guys you should have plenty of time.

9 RepliesThree characters at 600, one was above 600 when I tried the forge. It's over tuned right now. It may be when we get to 610-620, we don't know yet. Looks like they didn't learn the lesson from EP of making stuff too hard this early.

Here we start dry, half way to new max power level, thats the issue, because of that the first forge should be 600 and the next one higher, and the next higher still until the last is at max power. Instead we have "hey here you go, new content, its available now but you have to grind for another two weeks to be at level to start it" Edit: Witch is kind of genius, really, you cant finish the new content fast if you cant start it when its released.
