36 RepliesGood. When a weapon is literally the best choice for all pve content it restricts all other weapons. Try something different guys. EP shotty is so damn boring.

1 ReplyThis is a good thing. A PVE weapon nerfed for PVE reasons. There are still Endgame scenarios where it will be the best shotgun, but now there will be times when Aggressive frames are better. In addition, the time it takes to proc Trench Barrel is more significant for 3 shots than 8+, so full auto lightweight and rapid fire frames gain some utility points as well.

Oh no! You'll have to de-equip the IKELOS Shotgun and find something else to use, what a travesty. Something else will inevitably take its place.

1 ReplyIt would really be nice if they added Trench Barrel to the list of perks to roll on all other shotguns then since Ikelos won't be top tier anymore. They killed the Sniper. They killed the SMG. Now the shotgun. It really isn't worth grinding for anything in this game anymore. I will be playing content very sparingly going forward because all those clears for that weapon were in vein now.

1 ReplyI don’t see the point. It’s a PvE perk. So if we nerf EP shotgun because, “anything else was a handicap “ then what about hunters in crucible? Anything other than blade barrage is a detriment to your team. Warlocks? Better get rid of the Nova Warp because everyone uses it. So the argument that it was the only viable weapon is bogus. Thus we continue down the slippery slope of nerfing weapons only to find a new BIS.

2 RepliesI won't be surprised if the hardcore Destiny fan-boys start a street riot. They're so fixated on the extra-powerful loot, they will attack anybody who says one little thing against it. Whether those whiners like it or not, it needed to be tuned down the way it was. Just be glad that it's becoming a random perk for every shotgun, rather than just Ikelos SG.

4 RepliesI don’t really think that’s a bad thing. The nerf is relatively minimal, and this gives players a little more choice in what they put in the energy slot.

It was a non exotic with an exotic perk, which made zero sense. Especially because it became the meta for most boss encounters because of that, which again, made zero sense. The nerf is long overdue as far as I'm concerned.

1 ReplyI absolutely love the ikelos shotty but it is beyond OP and I get why they would look to make a Nerf. They are trying to make it more of a choice in what energy weapon you run. Before it was ikelos then everything else. I get people would rather see other guns get buffed up to the ikelos but it's a lot harder to bring everything else up to the front then to bring the leader back to the pack. RIP I had fun with ikelos while it lasted. I feel bad for those you have just recently received it only to never get to enjoy the pure destruction it brought.

Fff Bungie....here we go again... If they are so worried we will burn through their content...or lack of with a little shotgun perk, then why not just dump it back into the heavy slot where it was originally.
