I really want to like the Lord of Wolves. It's unique (a factor SORELY missing from most weapons) and fun to use, but it might be the most wildly impractical weapon in the game just because of this perk.
Most enemies die before you use the full burst. But as soon they die, now your burst is twice as long. You could already kill them in less than 5 shots so why do I now need 10? Just throwing ammo away at this point.
Nobody even uses this gun because the EP shotty is a thing. Why not just let it be fun to use?

Yeah I can't use it because it runs out of ammo way too quickly. Reminds me of how sweet business was

1 ReplyJust make the extra shots not consume ammo.
-
Yes please. Would love to use it more, but ammo consumption is just bad so it sits in my vault.
-
Yes, moar ammo! LORD OF out of ammo....not so cool.
-
Yes please. I actually think that this weapon is pretty great and fun to use. But you blow through the ammo in seconds

1 ReplyIf getting a kill reloaded the magazine (not from reserves), it would be pretty good and maybe even top tier.
-
1 ReplyRun 2 shotgun scavengers, 1 shotgun reserves, 1 special ammo finder for PvE. Run 2 shotgun scavengers for PvP.
-
It's like a shitty pulse rifle
-
It maybe the saddest/funniest gun in game.
-
It needs the perk changed is what it needs. You can't just run around using it on trash mobs or you'll be out of ammo and tired of reloading. I think instead of increasing the rounds per burst it should increase the fire rate of the next burst, and fire rate between bursts. So it would start the way it is, and ramp up to fire like an auto shotgun.

12 RepliesEdited by Hulk: 11/27/2018 4:39:10 PMNo, the reserves go in the magazine evenly. 30 rounds in the mag, 90 reserves. Total amount of ammunition, magazine and reserves combined, is 120 rounds. If you need to have more ammo, the shotgun reserves armor perk is a good option. I knew someone was going to complain about the ammo reserves for the Lord of Wolves. It's working as intended; if you are having trouble with the ammo, special ammo finder is another good solution. I use it in Gambit as an option to defend against invaders; I run to a invader spawn location and if they are there, I kill them with the Lord of Wolves. I also use it for killing blockers. Perhaps try using it a different way, like as quick way to kill a knight that is almost dead or a phalanx or a centurion. I also use it in the Crucible often. Please dude, don't cause them to change it; I understand it may not work for you and other players but perhaps I could help you and the others use it and/or provide assistance in finding solutions other than changing the reserves. Hard Light was changed because of the Nightfall equipment lock and I understand that; I used Hard Light 24/7 before they copied and pasted the fundamentals intrinsic from the Borealis onto the Hard Light. After the update is feels so...weird, like it's a fake version or like stale food. Dude, I love Lord of Wolves, not just because of my Gambit strategy but because having the maximum base reserve ammunition being loaded into the mag evenly feels so -blam!-ing perfect. When I switch to the Lord of Wolves and see the 90 reserves, 30 mag and then switch to my kinetic and it displays 120 as the total it feels so perfect, especially when I reload it and it's still goes in evenly. 120=90(reserves) +30(magazine) I do not wish to come across as a jerk or as an elite player or some other Destiny asshole. I was so proud of myself for finding a weapon that I can use strategically for Gambit but it's more that. It feels warm in my hands, not even as weapon but as an extension of my will and courage and strength. I use it constantly; "By this right alone I rule."

1 ReplyPeople actually use this weapon?
-
-
Yeah, only one of two Forsaken exotics in months and it's left me horribly disappointed. Tried it for one Lost Sector and decided to never use it again. I remember liking it in D1, but its new perk just makes it ridiculously impractical for pretty much anything compared to basically any other weapon of its class. Yet another example of a wasted novelty exotic.
-
No! It would make it usefull and fun to use! No!
-
1 ReplyIn it's current form it is almost useless.
-
It's meant as a boss burner it seems.....too bad it's hardly ever used for that....given it's outclassed by most of Exotics in that category.
-
A request for buff!!! How dare you???
-
-
120 shotty rounds gone in seconds. For what? A few minor kills? Needs WAY more ammo.
-
Agree wholeheartedly - such a great weapon that I don't use do to lack of ammo
