The focus is on Lunafaction boots and the Titan Barrier. Not the Hunter Dodge, Transversive Steps or Sealed Ahamkara Grasps as those are solely for one person.
Reloading has become thing of the past for the PVE boss phase. One person in the group slaps down a rift or barrier and all of a sudden, a single shot high explosive weapon can fire its reserves in less than 7 seconds. That's for everyone at the same time.
When Thunderlord was released in Destiny 2 and a video popped up on my YouTube feed of six Thunderlord's wiping riven, I thought oh well what power weapon can't at this point. Then I thought what made a machine gun in Destiny 1 a machine gun. It's reload was the first thing that came to mind. It was balanced around being a super powered auto rifle, +damage, +range, + magazine, but with more recoil and one heck of a reload. Thunderlord was also okay in Destiny 1, because you only ever got it to ramp up its fire rate to max at or near the end of the mag.
The main point is that reloading was a balance for weapons to lower their potential DPS. You could sacrifice some traits on your weapon and armor for faster reloads and that was again a trade off.
Brute forcing Riven isn't whats broken. Its the fact that weapons for bosses are no longer 5 stat bars, but are only impact and fire rate.
Potential Changes
-Lunafaction would need to be reworked to change the constant reload into something else.
-Titan barricade could do something similar to the guerrilla fighter perk from Destiny 1 that gave improved accuracy handling and damage resistance. (Improved stability, a minor reload bonus, or maybe reduced flinch.)

Heres an easy fix for you so you dont screw everybody else that doesnt want to make anything harder than it needs to be. Dont stand behind the barrier or in the rift. There you go, have fun manually reloading

2 RepliesYes because thats what exotics do, they change the gameplay of the game why do you want to make the game boring? we just got out of a boring year.

No. Get out.

Working as intended, no changes needed.

OP you may have a point to how ammo economy and reloads play a key part into balancing shooter games, but Bungie has had both these items (Lunafaction Boots, Rally Barricade) in the game since launch. They're clearly fine with having specific tools that negate reload mechanics entirely.

People who complain about PvE balance don't deserve rights tbh

Then I thought what made a machine gun in Destiny 1 a machine gun. It's reload was the first thing that came to mind.
Bullshit. How the hell is THAT the first thing that comes to mind when you think of machine guns in D1? That makes no sense. Nobody ever sat there throughout 3 years of D1 thinking "man, reloading is really what makes this gun type special." You're basically saying "make the game less fun".
