Stupidity is not limited to where you are borne. Stupid people are everywhere.

Because the South is a place.

Becuse schools dont teach anything of value. 5th grade all the way through high school every year it was "the holocaust was bad" or "the confederate flag is racist". That was just history how many times do we have to read Macbeth to actually get something of substance? Math "your not going to be carrying a calculator your whole life" my phone IS a calculator and I carry it everywhere! I hated my time in school but I didn't hate learning.

Bad parenting haha. No, I'm joking..I think it may be because we don't usually have the best school systems. That's what I've heard .. I was homeschooled.
-
Because petty manchildren reeeing about politics like their mommy refused to give them tendies are very loud and unfortunately represent all of us to the rest of the world.

1 ReplyNot sure what you mean, but our education system sucks. Being the world police is expensive.
-
We're a giant country with poor wealth distribution and a bad educational system. And many schools promote their athletics programs over their educational ones, this includes colleges. And the government promotes military spending FAR more than education or healthcare Everything's broken. Everyone's an idiot. Our president is a joke. It's literally the movie Idiocracy right now.
-
Because the stupid people post on social media and they somehow represent all of America.

Same reason why all Indians are alcoholics, all brits have bad teeth, all Asian people are smart, all Mexicans are lazy, all blacks smell like jergens, and all millennials are libtards.

2 RepliesEdited by Section Ratio General: 10/7/2018 11:32:14 PMProbably something along the lines of most jobs in the US not really having a hard requirement of having a Bachelor's or higher to live somewhat comfortably here. Most workplaces that I've seen require, at most, a high school diploma to have a job that pays decently. I also live in one of the poorest parts of California, so my view of decent living can be seen very differently compared to someone living in Socal or Norcal, and out of state. Someone making $75-80k a year here is considered upper class, while someone making $40k a year is considered middle class. In parts like the bay area, someone making $80k/year would probably be seen as lower class. Along with the previous paragraph, sometimes college can be seen as quite expensive to many who don't want to deal with the debt afterwards, especially nowadays (Personally, I went through community college and did relatively well enough to gain scholarships throughout my time in college, so I graduated debt-free). Americans overall may not be book smart (as seen by our standardized test scores in high school, where they have taken a huge dive after 2011), but America provides enough leeway for someone to live somewhat comfortably, while also heavily rewarding others who decide to pursue higher education in a field that is substantial in the US or a business venture that is needed here in the US. Edit: Some people who choose to get a degree that is needed, but underpaid should honestly get paid more. I love my job doing research, but I wouldn't have gotten to where I'm at right now without the help of my teachers and mentors. Teachers in the K-12 system of the US are grossly underpaid for the amount of work that they put into their profession. They should be getting paid either just as much as I do, or more, given that they have a job that hardly anyone in the US is willing to take.

2 RepliesEdited by Liam_Hawks: 10/6/2018 10:51:14 PMI think most of the time people are just giving us crap. I chuckle everytime I see "yank" used as an insult or "soccer vs football" brought up. Kinda the same deal.

3 RepliesMaybe it’s because it’s got a health system run by insurance companies. Maybe it’s because it jails more of its citizens than any other country. The list is endless.

4 RepliesEdited by Catty_Wampus22: 10/8/2018 4:26:27 AMA number of reasons. As others have stated entitlement- Look at how we love to say "if it wasn't for us the world would be speaking German right now!!" Completely ignoring the role Russia played on the eastern front. Not to mention how so many US companies helped enable the Nàzis like IBM, GE, even Coke created Fanta so they could sell their product in Germany and not be so obvious. Hell, GE even sold munitions to Hitler AFTER we entered the war. Not to mention the US bankers...... And GE owns the NBCs which brings me to my next point: The media- We like to talk about liberal media and all that. Most news IS fake or at least filtered. Look at how they lied about Iraq, both times, they didnt ask any questions beforehand, just repeated the narrative to invade. Then when it's too late and can't deny the lies anymore they bring a few of them up, but nothing major, those stay unreported. As an example: most of you are probably too young to remember the 1st time we invaded Iraq. Kuwait starts using slant drilling to take oil from Iraqi oil fields. Being both are allies of the US Saddam goes to us to make them stop. We tell him the US doesn't wish to get involved in Arab/Arab affairs. So Saddam puts his troops on the border as a show of force. Congress asks the white house what are you gonna do about it? They say nothing, it's not our business. They all specifically 'so if this escalates to a shooting war the US won't be obligated to commit any troops or assistance?' Nope!!! Less than 24hrs later Saddam invades. Now remember, at this point the defense budget had been cut with the Cold War being over but Republicans swore there are still enemies. So we manipulated Saddam into invading. But we already said we wouldn't get involved untillllllll..... A woman testified saying she was a nurse at a Kuwaiti hospital and talked about Iraqi soldiers going in, killing babies, throwing them on the floor, stomping on them, bayoneting them..... So I mean we HAVE to do something now and with a monster like that we need more bombs!!! Then after the war, which went widely unreported, not at all in the mainstream news was the woman that testified to congress was actually the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador and was living in the US that entire time and they never found any evidence of babies being killed. Look at our coverage of Syria. They talk about freedom fighters we support, give money and weapons to yet are oddly silent that all of these 'freedom fighters' want to take over and install Sharia Law in Syria and some of these groups are.....al Qaeda lmao. And we fall for that shit decade after decade. Then you have the whole fake left vs right paradigm that we buy into...... How we think accountability is only for the other side.....

Well. Look who we elected POTUS....

Tribalism.

America is painfully average when It comes to world IQ

We no longer prioritize education(or healthcare for that matter). So, basically general well being. Our language is money. That’s the most important thing here now. Someone’s right to make a buck is prioritized over and at the expense of those things.

2 RepliesBecause many of us are. The problem is that our sense of entitlement, and the tendency to see the rest of the world in relation to ourselves, and an extension of our own will.....pisses the rest of the world off. Trump's speech before the UNGA is a classic example.
