Make the gunsmith great again
Seriously. 100 mats for a shader and a non-masterwork is beyond abysmal.
Proposed changes: Changs the mats required to 50 and have him sell 5 mods a day for 5 mod components.
Make this NPC useful... seriously, i feel bad for him

Edited by Nicarus86: 10/5/2018 1:26:43 PMHere's how you make him great for real: Give Banshee a proper job in the Tower; let players use him to "craft" gear from all the stuff we find. What you do is take a gun or armor piece you like to Banshee and, for a fair price, have him do a "factory reset" on it, clearing out whatever it had on it and back down to power level 10. From there, you equip scopes, perks, mods, and masterwork stats of your choice. Imagine Tap the Trigger and Rangefinder on a 3-burst sidearm with already high stability made better with a 10-tier stability or range masterwork upgrade! How about Kill Clip and Outlaw on the Duke handcannon with the Range masterwork? How about armor built specifically to aid snipers? Do note that it's a custom job, and you have to rebuild the gear's power from scratch, so the resource costs can be rather high. It's not a bad deal, though, considering it's better than relying on lottery-level odds to get EXACTLY what you want, right? You still grind for a chance at a god-roll, but at least you feel like you progress in-game because you gather up resources to BUILD the god-roll eventually!

Great...again? He was always a bum, only time he was handy was to reroll guns during House of Wolves and that was just so you'd burn through mats to start from scratch once The Taken King came out and you were picking up better weapons five minutes in anyway. Isn't it odd that Cayde-6 died and Banshee-44 became useless immediately, you offed the wrong Exo Bungie.

What does he do anyway? All he does is forget $h!t. Can’t edit gun barrels, sights, magazines or bolts. Can’t alter side rails or gun designs. I mean the useless fckers even forgot how to be an actual gunsmith.

I don't get the way this company has been handling this game with certain things, the gunsmith being one of them. Well, I do know why but that is another story. When you look at D1 and the inventory the gunsmith had. WTH happen in D2? it's like they don't want to offer much in this game when it comes to the in-game content now that it isn't just a game to play dress up anymore. All the vendors are majorly lacking if you didn't buy forsaken and it sounds like they didn't do much with them in forsaken either. Then there are things like the factions, umm, WTH are they and why are they shut down? It's as if this company thinks they are giving you guys "too much content" that they have to remove things and the truth is, they haven't offered that much at all since D2 released when it comes to in-game content worth grinding for. You can't say that about D1.

I have 6000+ weapon thingies... I use them to get shards. Essentially I have a significant bond investment in the Bank of Banshee.

They should make him give a random mod and weapon per pachage at least...and lower it back to 50. Why does he need 100 now when he gives less than before.

14 RepliesCompletely agree! I made a previous post about how 100 materials is way too much considering what you get is hardly worth it and ends up being dismantled into, yes Materials. There was nothing wrong wi how it was before as again, most rewards aren’t that great! I am trying to get the Duke, but keep getting same auld shite over and over, and due to how many materials we need, I doubt I will ever get it! Bungie really needs t rethink Gunsmith, and admit that they made a mistake and change it back! The loot pool is so poor with all vendors that Gunsmith was the only hope for something decent!

Seems like I never have mods for my gear anymore or hardly ever have enough components, and I play every day and am leveling three characters. Gunsmith bounties used to be kinda cool too. Don’t know why they did away with them. Was something to do and plus it was neat getting an interesting weapon every now and then. As if Destiny needed more grindiness, rng that hates you, and useless NPCs...

1 ReplyI refuse to turn in any gunsmith materials. I am sitting on over 5000. I expect them to change the economy at some point. I regret not turning them all in prior to forsaken, higher masterworks drop rate and more legendary shards.

The forsaken dlc is awesome, but there are a few issues with the game that RUIN it for me!!!! The master work cores, exotic drops, ridiculously grinding for everything and garbage loot from just about every source. They did such a good job on the dlc, but these issues are making me regret buying the dlc!!!

You have to sell 10 parts at a time, takes 100 to get a emgram, you have to click the button 10 times and watch the bar go up bit by bit, had 800 parts the other day took ages to trade them. The grind is real my friends.

4 RepliesGod this needs to be a thing. Currently Mods are too pricey given how insignificant an impact they have. I've timed the Grenade & Super Cooldown, Resilience effects planning on eventually testing more but Mod Components are my Exotics since Non-Cosmetic Exotics go removed from the game in Forsaken. The mods help yes; but not nearly enough for the price he asks. Even worse... His loot pool is teeming with the same Loot we get from killing enemies in the wild. Which is an absolute CRIME! He needs to have his own loot pool period. No pollution. I've received a grand total of 12 Badlanders 4 with the same Slider & Snapshot roll, 3 with trash rolls, & 4 more with auto reload & stability (cause I need stability on a SHOTGUN that couldn't overpower my sniper if it dreamed of it?!) over the past 3 days. Shit I actually MISS getting Edge Transits. Atleast I got to compare God Rolls with that thing. They could also give him a "Masterwork" kit & Mod kit that lets us Masterwork old favorite that are lacking either slot. No Masterwork slot? Add it. No Mod slot? Add it. He's a Gunsmith god damn it.

And some Gunsmith materials. Quickdraw/Daily Bounty Get 50 kills shortly after switching weapons. Reward: 2 masterwork cores. And some Gunsmith materials. Iron Sharpens Iron /Weekly Bounty Get 15 sword kills in the crucible. Reward: 5 masterwork cores. And legendary gear. Etc...

1 ReplyAnother addition to banshee that would be nice: Pay 75-100 gunsmith mats and 5 legendary shards to apply a mod slot to year one weapons. Pay 50 gunsmith mats and 3 legendary shard to reroll element on weapons.

It’s quickly becoming apparent that Forsaken’s loot pool is incredibly shallow, I keep getting the same old shit over and over again, and I’ve yet to get anything from him that would qualify as a decent roll. 100 Weapon parts is too expensive. The resulting weapon is too low in power. And the loot pool is woeful. Bungie needs to take Banshee back to the drawing board.
