I’m pretty sure most people bought the game with the intention to get Ace of Spades. I mean it’s on the cover art. I don’t think anyone expected it to be handed to them but I also don’t think it should have involved PVP.
It would have made perfect sense for Malfeasance to be obtained via a quest involving these exact PvP steps because of the fact that it has Gambit specific perks but its obtained via a drop...(smh). That could have been one pvp quest and you also have Chaperone. Pvpers no doubt would have been happy. Chaperone was always obtained via a PVP competition quest so that one makes sense the way it is. It make *no* sense for PvP to be involved in obtaining AoS. PvP was not involved in obtaining it in D1 and all interactions with Cayde are in PvE strikes and such. He was a member of the vanguard... strictly pve. Our fondest memories of has sarcasm are from strikes like Bond Brothers for example.
AoS involves PVP because Bungie wanted to ensure people would play Gambit and after that prop up numbers for Crucible even if it meant that their focus on the quest would be detrimental to their team and that a different hand cannon would have made waaay more sense for the same quest.
Anyway, what can we do? If we want it we have to do it this way but it does give some insight to the way Bungie approaches quests.
Cya in Gambit. I’ll be the guy dragging your team down as I camp the invader spawn spot.
And? Are you seriously trying to imply that anyone with a brain said hmmm you get this exotic gun? Oh yeah I'm definitely gonna buy that.
every DLC has an exotic it's nothing new
No but you’d think the thing you get as a preorder incentive would be usable to the masses who preordered it. The gally quest in RoI was fun, but didn’t push some people out of their comfort zone, therefore the preorder for the black version was justified.
Incorrect.
People buy the game for the content in general.
If you bought the game for a single gun, you're stupid.
Plus, does everyone expect them to just hand out Quest Exotics for free...?
