Update feels awful

- rewording - My main point was that gunplay doesn't feel good since attention to detail didn't exist while updating the game. Flinch is terrible, stability doesnt exist, and lag lords control the game. EDIT: I enjoy the faster TTK but hate that nothing was balanced properly and that PVP lobbies are full of terrible connection Gods ruining the experience for everyone.

    Love SBMM. Tired of people stacking teams for QP and ruining for solo players. That’s what Comp and Trials is for. This new, I will call it “Titan Meta” is bad. One hit shoulder charge is back. Was killed by a shoulder through my shotgun yesterday. A shoulder..... I know this crap is a game, but my guns take forever to kill but a dude can ram me with his shoulder and I insta die? Good thing they updated the range on synthoceps too, because that wasn’t already OP enough. So camping shotgunners in corners everywhere and camping snipers in all the lanes. Sound familiar? Can anyone say Destiny 1? Remember when everyone couldn’t wait for D2 because the meta was so bad. What’s old is new again and Bungie is touting this like its the greatest game they have ever made. Note to self. Save $200 plus bucks. Don’t play D1 for a year and then turn it on and look it’s Destiny remade.

    • Remember when everyone complained about 1-shot kill shoulder charge in D1 and people running around with shotguns 1-shotting everyone. Yeah, we are back to that shit again. If shoulder charge is a 1-hit kill now, why isn't a throwing knife to the face a 1-shot kill?

      • For all of you complaining about balance, destiny amongst all classes has never been balanced. Why the hell are you crying about it now when majority of players are enjoying the game. If you can't deal with PvP don't play it. Don't like the game? Don't play it. It's that simple.

      • My problem with the SBMM isn't having to face tougher players; it's the abundance of bulletproof laglords who win 1v1 because they are in 3 places at once, nothing to do with their ability.

          • The update to PvP IS awful. Nothing balanced, skillful or fun about it. PvE however feels better than ever. So at least there’s half a game to play

                • Lag is a huge problem because player numbers are way down because its a week before an expansion...and there is no loot this week. Matchmaking times were awful last night. I started three or four control matches in Quickplay as 3v3s. The rest sounds like operator error.

                    According to the patch notes for 2.0, nothing that I saw had anything related to increasing flinch, stability feels off because you [i]may [/i]have had a reduced stability mod on your armour and all mods on armours aren't active now and don't do anything. Yes in PvP, lag is out of this world bad.

                      • I'm not seeing the shotgun corner-campers, and I played quickplay for 4 hours straight last night. I'm seeing nothing but apes but I'm perfectly fine with that. I've got my own or a fusion with ammo on every spawn. Why the complaints? Is this not heaps better than D1 Y3 where the winner keeps his ammo and you lose yours?

                        • I main PVE I wouldn't go as far to say that the update is awful but certainly the new updates are being hindered by a weak foundation. We need dedicated servers with a server browser really bad, so folks can join a server that has a low ping to them and you won't have to worry about being matched up with a bad host. Until then I will never play PVP in destiny I hope we can get Bungie to provide a better service.  P.S. I can see the lag and the delay in PVE

                        • You just have to play different, everything has a place now, pulses are no longer cross map snipers, scout rifles are actually viable, hand cannons destroy up close but not at pulse rifle ranges, SMG’s are finally off the map, auto rifles still are pretty competitive. However I think they should go back to the rise of iron special ammo situation, 1st life you spawn with ammo, then it drops every 30 seconds in game from crates

                          • The update also has to do with pve and not just PvP. That being said many people who mainly play either side of the game asked for weapon slot changes to be made for a variety of reasons. Your unhappiness with how the changes effect one aspect of the game for you does not make it a failure of a patch.

                            I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say "awful" but it definitely feels different in a way I am not entirely satisfied with. The gunplay feels less solid to me. I don't know how to explain it quite, but two things I noticed are that the audio is less "chunky" and substantial when using weapons, and movement, aiming, and such are substantially less "tight" feeling. Destiny's saving grace through all the droughts was that Bungie had a lock on the way shooting -- the thing you do more than anything else -- felt. After yesterday it felt [i]really weird[/i]. I don't know if they recalibrated sensitivities or messed with acceleration or something, but the best word I can come up with is that everything felt [i]sloppy[/i]. Edit: worth pointing out that while I saw guardians whose shotguns were using shotguns, I saw no snipers and no real campers. I only played a couple matches, though, and it was during that time that I noticed how sloppy and imprecise the controls felt.

                              Yeah, sbmm in quickplay is a dealbreaker for me. I can't compete with a six stack of players at my skill Ievel. I'll just play halo on dedicated servers if I need a solid competitive fps experience.
