I mained Warlock in D1 now mained Hunter, but jesus Stormcaller would melt enemies in D1 heroic strikes compared D2

This weeks heroic strikes - I was “shocked” to see just how much damage this super actually does. Crown of tempests and using the super with full grenades and melee makes it a monster. I would go so far as to say per the whole super bar - it’s one of THE most damaging. Not DPS but DAMAGE per super.

10 RepliesLIGHTNING ROBE MAN TICKLE TITAN. TITAN LAUGH AT LIGHTNING ROBE MAN.
-
It's garbage on yellow bars, practically takes the whole super to kill one
-
True. I was using it in the Spark redux mission last night and one super barely took down a mid sized servitor. I specifically saved the super for that point thinking I would mow down all the mini servitors, how disappointing.
-
1 ReplyShould be renamed to gentle rain with a hint of mint for all the damage it does
-
1 Replyworks fine smashing lil thrall but as soon as you see a knight, you waste the entire super trying to kill it lol
-
It's not as bad as people make it seem. I rather like using stormcaller. It needs to be paired with the crown though for it to be viable. My go to would be nezarecs simply because I can pop 4-5 supers in a heroic strike easily just by getting void kills.

5 RepliesJust watched a video of Ehroar's (not sure of that's how it is spelled), and Stormcaller actually did more than Nova Bomb and Dawnblade without exotic buffs to a single target. Either tree.
-
They're buffing it in forsaken. It really needs it, crown of tempest makes it somewhat viable.
-
I'm pretty sure there buffing its damage with forsaken.
-
It is garbage.

Storm-caller requires knowing the right time to use it, more so than other supers. I find it does shit tons of damage against mobs. if you got 3 or more enemies in a group and you hit each one that then fans to the other doing massive stacking damage. if you're taking on one person it doesn't do much. i find it works well against the vex because they like to clump up a lot. With other enemies it is hard to take advantage of the stacking because the AI is more individualistic and spread out. When designing a buff, i think the character of Storm-caller should remain the same; i.e. focusing on that fanning/spreading damage. Increasing the range of spread damage would be useful to make it more effective against other races of enemies. a moderate damage puff is warranted, but a buff shouldn't stop there.

Truth.

I main a Titan and used warlock a lot in D1. Never really touched the Hunter all that much. In D2, still main a Titan however I'm really enjoy using the Hunter. Warlock is just all around weak in D2 PVE. Nova bomb barely scratches the boss. Arc is only useful against thrall and solar super is basically spamming flame farts everywhere.

I’ve played Stormcaller many times but never the Jesus Stormcaller. What is a Jesus Stormcaller?
-
You try the chain-lightning perk? It helps dealing with mobs of enemies rather than just one group. Also, it seems to me in Destiny 2 they're more focused on making guns more relevant than just their supers. Just from what I've been seeing and playing though.

51 RepliesEdited by blade329: 8/14/2018 4:27:48 PMSure, because Bungie was worried it would hurt PvP balance in D2. Obsession with PvP balance has KILLED this game, period.
-
oh yes!!
-
65 RepliesNow you understand why Warlocks mains are so upset. We weren’t “balanced”. We were declawed and defanged.
-
It doesn’t do anything to guardians in PvP either.
-
2 RepliesAs a Hunter main, Nightstalker's super is absolutely cancer in Mayhem.
-
I am a hunter main and I will be the first to admit...
Wormhusk needs a buff
-
Storm caller: "WHO'S READY FOR A VISIT FROM UNCLE TICKLE FINGERS!" The enemy: "No."
-
Jesus stormcaller? I always thought it was his dad that was “in charge” of the lightning 😂
-
Maybe for you, but not for me.

Edited by ravager-911: 8/15/2018 9:23:11 PMYep, Bungie ruins all that is good. When will they accept that players actually want to have fun, and stop nerfing everything. If they did, I guarantee they would have way more money, more players, and less bitching. Oh, but that would mean separation of PVP & PVE..Never mind, that’ll never happen.
