Please tell me there will be another way to get Whisper of the Worm later on
...and before the "git gud" and "get a fireteam" comments start roaring in.
I just see what this is all is and it seems pretty damn difficult. Getting it in D1 didn't seem this bad.
Am I just being paranoid or is it actually as hard as it looks?

Getting the black spindle in destiny 1 was harder then this back then. The only thing that you could say its harder is the jumping puzzle cos if you constantly die, you will just waste a lot of time. The boss you had to kill was harder in destiny 1 compared to the 3 we have now and that wasn't even the hardest thing. The hardest part of the black spindle was clearing the ads after killing the boss. I really hope this will always be the only way to get it and I really hope we have more events like these in the future. I never had so fun running an activity in pve since destiny 2 launched.

Edited by Grug: 7/23/2018 7:52:35 PMFrom what I've heard from some people, it's actually easier to get Whisper than it was to get Spindle in D1. As far as getting it elsewhere that would defeat the purpose of it being a secret quest weapon. There wouldn't be the same prestige associated with it.

If its anything like in D1 this will be the only way to get it. Its not as hard as ppl think, I did it using LFG with about 5 mins to spare and we were all under 385. Once you are pretty good at the jumping puzzle you will have plenty of time for the adds/bosses

13 RepliesIts tough...but thats what makes it worth it. You'll actually be a better player once you conquer this challenge and you'll be worthy of it's reward...which right now seems to be the best gun in the game. But im sure Xur will probly sell it eventually! ;)

10 RepliesI promise you it’s not as bad as you think it is. Hardest part of it is getting the jumping part perfected, after that it’s basically teamshooting ads and communication. If you’re on Xbox I can help run you through it

1 ReplyWhen the og spindle quest dropped it was just as hard and you only had that day to do it. Don't be discouraged man it's really not all that bad. Once you can get the jumping down so you have enough time you all just chip away.

2 RepliesDefinitely tough and need a good fireteam other option I could see is wait for forsaken hope it's obtainable anytime or on io flash point and the powerful doesn't change with forsaken so once you power up from that you can breeze through later

It is easy . I even got the catalyst with a 385 team. And the catalyst is at the heroic 400 light version.

Its challenging but doable. If you dont wanna waste time watch seceral videos before attempting. Bring arcstriders and a risk runner. Ep shotguns and sleeper do well too.

Once forsaken comes and we are higher in light I feel it will be easier and maybe forsake will have a ghorn type of weapon that just recks everything. I can make it to second room solo but that's about it. When I'm higher in light I feel I'll be able to solo it.

It’s an amazing gun (from my y1 d1 Black Hammer experience) and should be very difficult to obtain.

I felt very much the same to begin with however it really does get a lot easier with a bit of practice. By my 4th or 5th try I was getting to the end bosses with no deaths and now I've just solo ran heroic to get the chests and exotic ship BP with 8 mins left, and this is from someone who hates mario!
