"This is our finest hour. Ever victorious against the enemies of humanity. Ever triumphant in our home, and around the system. Now the City wants to honor us. Who are we to deny them?"
—Ikora Rey
It was a day that was supposed to be a celebration of our past glories. The anniversary of Six Fronts — the victory that united the City and gave us the Vanguard. Guardians donned ceremonial armor to commemorate the event, and gathered for a rousing speech by the Speaker. Then everything came apart when the Red Legion struck.
The Tower fell. The City was lost. Thousands of lives were lost with it. It was our lowest point since the Collapse. But humanity is not so easily extinguished.
We fought back. We recovered our lost Light. With the awakening of the Traveler, we faced our conqueror and prevailed. We reclaimed our home. We entered a new Golden Age.
That was almost a year ago.
Now, humanity is once again victorious: against the overwhelming might of Ghaul and the Red Legion; against Panoptes and the infinite threat of the Vex; against Xol and the unfathomable hordes of the Hive. More than ever, the City is grateful for their seemingly invincible Guardian protectors. And more than ever, humanity wants to show that gratitude.
Solstice of Heroes begins on Tuesday, July 31. This event is held in the Tower, and allows the inhabitants of the City to celebrate and thank Guardians for bravely defending them. During this time of celebration, Guardians will once again don the now-broken ceremonial armor from the day the City was lost to the Red Legion. They do this for many reasons: to remind themselves of what it's like to not be invincible; to challenge themselves and thus inspire the City even more; and to eventually reforge that broken gear into something stronger... just as humanity has been broken and reforged over and over again for hundreds of years.
Guardians will meditate on their journey through the Red War and take on additional challenges in those memories. They will marvel at the resurgence of the Traveler, as the elements themselves flare into existence during their adventures. And they'll do it all while humanity celebrates their past, present, and future.
Ikora Rey is the Tower's representative for the Solstice of Heroes event. She'll direct you to the center of the Tower, where the City has erected the Statue of Heroes as the focal point for the event. The statue will track your Moments of Triumph progress, and grant you the Solstice of Heroes event armor that you will begin upgrading.

3 RepliesEdited by Carson Kidd: 8/3/2018 12:03:17 PMI’m loving it Bungie. Feels like Halo in Legendary . I’m dying all the time, cursing, changing strategy and feeling accomplished when I survive. Props to the person who programmed a higher health enemy to “cover” an enemy I’m about to kill. The re-imagined campaign levels are GREAT! Thanks for the two tank opportunities. You guys did a great job with the Drake and I enjoy it every chance I get to drive it. Spark boss was by far the best yet in D2. Kudos. The new sparrows look fantastic. Anyway, thanks for all the work that went into this! Truly appreciated and enjoyed! - CK

Solstice is lame. I erased all the armor and bounties. Why would I want to do all that crap all over again?

2 RepliesThe amount of salt at the pvp requirements is laughable. I'm not even saying you have to like it or want to play it (especially given the meta), but you have to at least acknowledge that it's part of the game. Why would an event celebrating Destiny itself not incorporate every activity Destiny has to offer? Seriously, you'll live, and if you don't finish all the requirements, oh well, it's just a game. Carry on.

1 ReplyHelp i deleted 1 of the armour mods now i can't continue

20 RepliesFirst off you guys have a bug in the solstice statue. I can't even access it. Second I would like to comment on the forum articles regarding 30 super kills in the crucible. This is completely ridiculous. It is a prime example of gaming elitism. I do not mind the call to arms milestone. I will work on that after I have accomplished the pve milestones. If I have time in my busy day. Like most of your players, I have a job and a family. Video games are a method of decompression for most of us and not the main focus of our existence. As a business manager I focus on the customer base and their needs, wants and desires. The majority of your customer base be the are working class individuals. Gaming programmers are pretty much all elitists with a mentality focused on catering to their own proclivities. This is not entirely a bad thing. They obviously tend to be the finest and most motivated programmers in the gaming industry. The problem lies in the management team that has lost the contact with the client base. Most of us are casual gamers. And we are the bulk of your constituency. We pay your bills and salaries. By all means, create a forum for the elite gamers. I admire their capabilities. But they are a very small percentage of your constituency. Focus on the gamers that constitute the bulk of your financial base. You know. Those of us that have jobs and pay for our elitist kids to play these games.

I stuck it out when everyone else stopped playing but this truly agrivats me . Unfortunately I already bought forsaken so I'll be back for that but I'm very disappointed in this event and the continued attempt to make us do crucible. See you in September destiny

10 RepliesEdited by Artifact: 8/2/2018 4:52:48 AMFirst things first, I have actually thoroughly enjoyed this event, even as a solo player. I came back to the game just for this event and do not own any expansions. Crucible has actually been really fun and I’ve finished top player almost every game while solo which seemed impossible before in 4v4. The missions are fun too. I wish all your story mission were actually this fun and challenging and it felt really good to finish those bosses on my own. But I now join with others for other characters. Still good tho But.... the grind may be a little heavy but I’m okay with it. The biggest thing I am unhappy with is this and please someone correct me if I’m wrong... with both expansion you can get 400 triumph points, without expansions you can only get 295. I feel like this was on purpose just to lock players out of the sparrow 5 pts off. I’d like to have it but I have to buy the expansions. Only reserve the emblem to expansion owners like the previous destiny, I bought this game at release and am still locked out of a cool reward in a free event. It makes me less motivated to even bother since my favorite thing in this game are sparrows. Again someone check my math and tell me if I’m wrong, if so, sorry Bungie my mistake. Otherwise great event.

The grind, is real.
-
4 RepliesI am so very annoyed at this event. Spending 40 mins to a hour per mission solo is not enjoyable. Thanks for wasting my time. Why bungie why.
-
I want to be op you idiots and I don’t want pvp shoved down my throat. Give me options. These morons will never get it. It’s why I haven’t bought forsaken.
-
This event should be focused around pve because pvp is horrible right now
-
2 RepliesI'm sorry I really dont mind the grind but this is just asinine lol. See you in September
-
3 RepliesThis is set up poorly! Can’t figure out how to progress it and typically done in bungie fashion... rushed and without care/thought! Been playing since day 1 and I can say I’m irritated and done!

3 RepliesJust wait for Forsaken my Triumph and years of work went into D1 and I got a brown banner. Yep 👍 Hard to believe these guys made Halo
-
And the end date for upgrading Armor is..........?
-
4 RepliesStop making pve players go in to pvp why would you do this no one likes it. alot won't be getting the armour thanks bungie

1 ReplyWhat if I don't masterwork the solstice armor during the event, can I masterwork it like normal. I'm just asking.
-
Also one crucible match I popped my super and got instantly killed and didn't get it back before the match ended. I checked my warlock's helmet after as I was at 70% of super kills before starting it only to find I had lost 10% of my kills and was down to 60%. As a non pvp player completely not enjoying the PvP experience, I hope this isnt meant to be the case and is a bug...
-
2 RepliesI fully upgraded my warlock set and on one of the pieces it says, to masterwork it, I need to reach legend rank in valor. See the thing is, i already surpassed that rank and reset my valor once already. So now I gotta grind all the way back to legend? What kind a ish is this?
-
4 RepliesEdited by Havok: 8/2/2018 3:52:30 AMI feel like when redoing the levels, the main goal was to just make them completely obnoxious unless you are in a fireteam. What’s this obsession with making us weak?
-
So dawning event everyone complained about eververse having the Armour sets for sale with bright dust. Cash grab event blah blah blah. This time they gave us an event where you actually gotta earn shit and grind. I have no problem with the grind as I was going to be doing ALL that stuff anyway. Really liking the redux missions gg bungie. Crucible was getting smashed while wearing full armour set using super. I'm a warlock and its the Helmet pce that needs the crucible requirements. Just equip the armour pce with requirements and it still counts the super kills.

I love this event, I'm pushing for my clan to get involved and it gets us playing together to help the ones not as good get the gear. I love the crucible (super kills grind was a pain) and all other missions and the fact its a free event and lasts 30 days is fantastic. People can hate on the matter, but I've been a destiny fan since day one and since having to actually grind for good armor was what old school gaming was I'm glad its back to that difficulty. Hoping to get the second legendary set of solstice on my next character soon. Great work, keep it up!
