I don't mean people using Solar weapons with Arc Singe on. That's because the same guy who thought Blackout plus Brawler was a good idea made the challenges conflict with the modifiers. Sadistic jackass...
No, I'm talking about people who jump repeatedly when Grounded is active. Or run in to melee a group of Thralls when Blackout is on.
I just wasted a Vanguard Gift, three times in a row, because I kept getting matched with mental deficients who jumped around during the boss fight and got killed less than a second after being revived, repeatedly. Every time I made it ten tries before I gave up. No, I can't solo Dendron. I can dump DARCI into it and get it -almost- dead, then I get mobbed because the other two jump around like they're playing UT2k4 and are dead from the first instant of the encounter.
BLUF: How does someone get to 370+ light without being able to understand Heroic modifiers? (just about every one of these geniuses was higher than me)

I think it’s mostly because of people forgetting the mods in the middle of a fight. It could also be their first game on for the day so they haven’t warmed up yet.

Dendron void burn and grounded was fun!

6 RepliesHad a guy the other day message me about my set up. Asked me why im running nightstalker with a sleeper when its arc singe? Then starts punching my character and tried to even kill me with a sparrow. Finally after his little temper tantrum we start killing stuff. Strike ends and I've tripled his kill total and killed arms dealer while other two where dead using one tether and 8 sleeper shots. Then ate some popcorn by homeboys ghost and dipped.

4 RepliesLol, I ran a strike today and a warlock kept dying, so I watched him and he'd die, respawn n instantly jump in the air n get 1 shot. It took all my willpower not to quit. He died 18 times n got 9 kills. I msgd him to say why was he such a douche not learning from his mistakes, didn't get a reply.O:-) He also had full solar weapons

We’ve been saying good weather........
-
Because the Heroic Modifiers ignore us.

1 ReplyFeel your pain. As if the modifiers aren't bullsh!t enough.. I think some players may be VERY drunk while casually stumbling into the heroic strike playlist. I usually get the most kills in the strike team, but sometimes I'll get around 180 kills and a teammate will have 18... no sh!t.. like geez bro.. help a little?!. I saw the same thing as you in the Will of Thousands strike yesterday. My teammates repeatedly would jump at the Xol fight and get one-shot by acolytes. But even worse than some of the players are the designers. Verticality is one of the essential elements of combat in this game. When blackout is the modifier, we become jumping wizards avoiding thrall pimp slaps and staying elevated. The Grounded modifier is just bad gameplay, IMO. Might as well have "no super" modifier. Or "no grenade" modifier..(#-blam!-trickle) let's just take away pieces of anything enjoyable about this already mind numbingly repetitive game and see how the players like it then!".. face palm. I played over 5,000 heroics strikes in D1 over the years for the fun factor, burns, changing up weapons and sub classes. Yesterday playing D2 strikes, I seriously started missing D1 strikes again honestly.

Children who carry their brains in there ballsack, don't bother to check anything .. see it so damned often ... some idiot actually messaged me to call me bad at the game ... blackout on ... he died 14 times ... morons ..
-
2 RepliesI jump all the time and do just fine.
-
5 RepliesIf someone will stick around for the entire strike I don't care how many times they die. If I start a strike I finish it. Period.
-
They probably don’t even bother reading them.
-
3 RepliesI just forget sometimes. Especially with Grounded.
-
3 RepliesProgression sucks.. So some players only have 1 high power build like Solar or Void. Kinda hard to create effective builds with a shit progression system.
-
A group didn't even try to help, they kept waiting like 5 minutes dicking around and only killed enemies when they felt like it and everytime I died they just tbagged from a distance and left just before the boss

2 RepliesEdited by draycole: 7/6/2018 1:12:59 PMThe real question is why Bungie is so adamant against us jumping? In air accuracy drops in pvp and pve, modifiers that punish you for jumping, warlocks have a half of their skill tree and an exotic thatre damn near useless because they focus on in air combat.... Which doesn't work because of no accuracy it's stupid

1 ReplySame person who paired Airborne and Grounded
-
I don't notice much of a difference honestly, except when being shot at, but I use void walker then rotate burn on other weapons for shields...the only real complaint would be if they keep dieing, in witch case u can find ppl to run with just hit up a site.
-
I run the single weapons and switch between subclasses depending on the strike ie a garden world as no benefit for arc strider I’ll run golden gun for boss same with savathun if the boss is grounded then I’ll use the appropriate subclass but if it’s out of reach of a subclass I’ll switch

9 RepliesI hate the ones who rush through the strike, wipe, and force you to move at their speed.
-
They should implement PvE MM parameters that put the people like that together. Maybe they'll wise up if they can't complete a strike. I had the same thing happen, "last guardian" on the screen a half dozen times. I finally fail at being super man on the 7th time the other two die and one of the guys has the nerve to come over and punch me and do the teabag maneuver. I think maybe some people are so bored with this game that they waste their time trolling people. But at any rate, this scenario is fine for Heroic Strikes but we can't have any form of MM for the normal Nightfall? I'd like a Bungie employee to give me an explanation for that that doesn't defy logic.

17 RepliesThose people rely on the other members of the fireteam to carry them thru the strike Anyone who doesn’t have the weapons equipped to match the burn of the week gets reported
-
I have found that the burns in general dont make that much of a difference. Like if i am running a darci and its a void or solar burn im not going to go out of my way to change the gun i am using just to get a tad bit more damage. It really is not that big if a difference is the problem, burns used to be hard hitting but have been extremely nerfed now. The better modification is the heavy one as it drops ammo and increases damage for all heavy in general but other then that the player buffs are really lame.
-
The singe doesn't matter...so i run my highest light weapons...only the other mods matter...those i pay attention to
-
heroic strikes aren't worth the time and effort.
-
1 ReplyMaybe it's less a case of people ignoring the modifiers and more a case of them not being aware of what modifiers they're working with. I always check before hand, click on the Heroic Strike playlist icon, see what modifiers come up, back out, adjust my loadout accordingly, then click on it again and then confirm before I join the playlist. I imagine most player's don't do the same.

I just ignore heroics altogether. :P
