So I've heard a rumor that our current weapons and armor may not be included in the mod and random rolls update coming in the September update/expansion. This sickens me just a little bit. I'm not ready to part with my Better Devil's and Manannannananannananan SR4 combo, nor will I be when September rolls around. So why is it that we can't update popular weapons from Year 1 going into year 2?? Why am I hearing that I'll have to leave all my favorite weapons from year one behind if I want to progress in year 2?? Are all my masterworked legendary favs only going to be usable in PVP like what happened in the year 1 to year 2 transition in D1, all made useless by power level limits??

15 RepliesNot to Jump on the Bungie defense wagon here but the key word in that whole paragraph is "RUMOR" you know nothing of the Expansion so don't speculate, and you are phrasing it as if this is a thing "so why is it that we cant update popular weapons from Year 1 to Year 2?"

Remember how people asked for more grind and random rolls? Wish granted. Remember how Bungie was trying to figure out how make you want to go get a 10th Better Devils? Plan realized.
-
They will be left it happened in d1 as well

4 RepliesEdited by Salt: 6/10/2018 4:55:51 AMConsidering that fact Deej couldn’t even bother to properly answer a yes or no question on this topic, it’s most likely that y1 arsenal will be left behind Stupid if you ask me considering most of us spent $80 just to have a year full of disappointment, you’d think they’d treat us better.

There's a Reddit thread about this with a tweet from Deej. It doesn't fill me with confidence. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/8pw85b/bungie_you_need_to_answer_clearly_whether_or_old/

It is tradition, you should expect this from Bungie.

9 RepliesYeah this was the 180 dollar beta for Destiny 2. The game launches this fall....

1 ReplyBungie are waiting to make up some dumb excuse for it.

Edited by Ashermere’s Assistant: 6/10/2018 6:36:25 AMBungie really needs to be transparent with this. My fear is that nothing but exotics will be brought forward. This would cause the game population to plummet until the DLC drops. People aren’t going to put in time & effort into something that will be made worthless in a few months. Please don’t force us to go through a hard reset again. Until I get more answers I refuse to preorder.

7 RepliesSo you heard a rumor and made a post about it complaining as tho it is fact?

Bump. Hopefully Bungie will reply to this post.

5 RepliesWell our weapons won't all of a sudden have random rolls and most likely our weapons besides nightfall exclusives will be hard to acquire if at all for the year 2 update. Now the theory is because on game release infusion said (up to 380).
-
I figured Bungie would find a way to make all the current stuff obtained in the first year obsolete again. I was just figuring they would try to make an overhaul to the leveling system like how they added infusion back in TTK to make our year one gear useless. I guess instead of that they just changed the weapon slot system back to Destiny's system. I guess it doesn't matter if we lose most of our current stuff. It'd be funny to see that one glory Crucible pulse rifle be obsolete come September seeing how big of a deal it was.

1 ReplyAll the current gear is shite Burn it all for all I care
-
You have to be kidding me?? They are leaving our weapons behind again!!
-
4 RepliesWE WORKED OUR ASSES OFF TO GET ALL THE GEAR WE HAVE NOW. THEY BETTER NOT BE MADE USELESS AGAIN!!!
-
I don’t know how they would leave them behind because of the infuse feature, even if the random roll system can’t be implemented into the old weapons I’m sure mods could, and even so the better devils and mananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananananana and better devils would remain beasts but fixed beasts instead of random beasts.
-
Most likely Year 1 weapons will be left behind. Then in Year 3 they'll bring some of them back. Just like in D1. Taking things away for awhile and then bringing those things back again as "new content" is what Bungie does best.
-
History repeats itself. Most likely the D2 Y1 weapon arsenal won’t carry over to Y2.
-
Everything got left behind in D1. They change all vendor and faction drops to the new weapons.
-
2 RepliesNo more rumors. If you have no concrete evidence from the asshole spewing potential lies, do not heed that information. Wait until you can ask questions that can be answered. The infusion system would still allow you to upgrade your weapons it's just that the newer weapons will be different. Your Better Devils most likely won't change, but the next Better Devils you get could have different perks being better or worse.
-
Doubt it. They could easily implement Random Rolls into our weapons. Also, who did you hear the rumor from? Cause if it’s anyone besides Bungie then don’t believe it and start shitting on them for literally no reason.
-
But just think of all the new and original weapons we will be getting!!!!
